Thanks guys, that was easy enough. Added the new device in Admin Console, deleted the old one, updated the two programs that reference the device and took a new backup.

Since my old 2466DW is fried, I ordered a new 2477D. Should be arriving today. Been wondering about how I should handle this in the ISY99i Admin Console. Once the switch is installed, I'd like it keep the same program that is currently running the 2466DW. How would I go about this? Probably an obvious question I'm just not seeing, but its been at least 4-5 years since I've changed/added any new hardware and I very rarely even go into the Admin Console any more. Thanks

Wow, now I feel like a complete maroon, the answer was right in front of my eyes. After 50+ years of software development, I can't believe I missed something so basic. When I did the download of start.jnlp, and as you can see in my screenshot in the OP, the file was indeed associated with Firefox as noted by the icon in front of it. Once I associated it with Java, the launcher worked. DOH! The only issue was when I started it up, it could not find my ISY. Rather than wasting more time trying to figure that out, I just added the entry and now I'm in business. What piece is missing that would have allowed the new Launcher from finding my ISY? Thanks guys for your responses. Always appreciate the help we all get from you guys!!!

Thanks @kzboray, but as I mentioned in the OP, I did download the latest version.

Just built a new Win 10 PC and I can't get IoX launcher installed. Been using the Admin Console on my old Win 7 PC for as long as I can remember and rarely had any issues. Even upgraded to IoX Launcher last year and the process went perfectly. I downloaded the latest Java version and when installing, got the prompt to delete the existing version. I then cleared the Java cache (all 3 check boxes) and went to https://isy.universal-devices.com/start.jnlp. Instead of starting up, I got this prompt: I saved the file, then double-clicked on it and it opened a new tab in Firefox that only said this: IoX Launcher Universal Devices This utility finds ISY Services and launches the correct version of the UI/Admin Console/Dashboard IoX Launcher I waited and waited, but nothing happens. I've cleared the cache and tried installing about 5 times, but still no joy. What am I missing here?

Hi @sjenkins, thanks for chiming in. As I mentioned, I was just looking for a way to integrate water sensors in my Insteon system. I've looked at Polisy and Eisy, but just don't have the need (or do I?) to go beyond my old faithful 994i. Would you please expand on how you integrate the Yolink sensors with Polisy & Eisy? The Yolink comes with its own hub and app, so I'm very curious!

Thanks guys, but doesn't look like this is going to work for me. About 90% of my setup is just 2466x switches and they are not on the Dual Band Wireless list. The few things I have that are on that list are nowhere near where I'd need the water sensors. I did get excited for a brief moment when I discovered the #2443 Dual Band Access Point, but my hopes were completely dashed when I found that these aren't around any more. The only one I could find was a used one one on eBay. I guess, for the time being anyway, I'm stuck with my YoLink water sensors. I test them regularly and they seem to work as intended, but I really wanted to integrate this with my Insteon system.

Thanks for the quick reply @Techman, but how exactly would this work with the ISY994i? With the antenna on the sensor, would this somehow connect to my WiFi and the ISY sees it there?

Just received the Ken Update – Jan 10 and things are starting to look promising! In it, he mentions the Water Leak Sensors (2852-222) and I'd really like to get a few of these. However, when checking out the item, there is the phrase Receive leak alerts via email and push notifications and/or emails when used with the Insteon Hub or other compatible software. Does anyone know what is meant by "other compatible software"? I've never had, nor do I want to buy a Hub now. Any reference to a Hub just gives me chills, given what happened not so long ago.

Very interesting. I've heard nothing but good things about ASUS routers from all of my geek buddies. After many years of using Netgear routers with not-always good results, I thought to give ASUS a try after my R700 bricked itself yesterday. Looks like my initial thought of using the old router's DHCP settings was the correct way to go. I'll do this tonight. Thank you!

Bingo, after rebooting the ISY, it has an IP and is showing in the device table. I'm also able to fire up the Launcher and get to the admin console. The thought had crossed my mind of rebooting the ISY or even assigning the previous IP as a static IP, but wanted to run this by you guys first. I was stumped on why all other devices on my network, except the ISY, automatically got IPs on the new router. Thanks, as always, for your help

@MrBill- thanks for the quick reply! The DHCP address range on the old Netgear R7000 was 192.168.0.n and the new ASUS RT-AX86U is 192.168.50.n. Initially, I thought about changing the new router to use the old IP range, but forgot to and since everything else is running fine now, that seems like overkill. When I said the ISY was missing, what I meant was that its not showing up in the device table in the new router. In the old one, I did not have a static IP assigned to the ISY. Before removing the old router, I did a ton of screen prints into a Word document and can see that the ISY was assigned 192.168.0.5.

I bought a new router yesterday and after getting everything setup, I don't see my ISY994. All the other devices on my network are there, but the ISY is missing. I discovered this when running the launcher on my desktop and the finder says Not Found. Any ideas how to get it back?

Bingo! Give that man @MrBill a cigar. Default Mail is sending, everything else looks normal after the upgrade. Thank you sir.

This is, in part, a continuation of the topic Gmail Stopped Working which is closed. In the Admin Console under Configuration -> Emails/Notifications -> Settings/Groups tab, I have been unable to get the checkbox Use Default to work. I have a program that runs every night at midnight to send me an email of the status of my ISY994i. Is anyone using this successfully? Is there anything else that needs to be configured after checking that box? Where would I find the log file showing what is happening in the ISY at midnight each night? Other than trying to update the email settings last year when gmail stopped working, I haven't really touched the ISY in a few years, so I'm quite rusty. The reason I'm trying that to use that default is that I never was able to get the email to work with my Comcast credentials, even with the generous help from @MrBill. I must be missing some setting there. One other thing I tried was using another ISP's server. That gives me an error regarding TLS when I hit the Test button. It would appear that v5.3.0 uses TLS v1.0 or maybe 1.1. Will upgrading to v5.3.4 fix this? Does that newer version use TLS 1.2? I've been debating upgrading to 5.3.4 for a while, but given that everything runs so smoothly with 5.3.0, there was never a reason to upgrade. If I can just get emails to send from the ISY, that would be worth the upgrade to me. Thanks for any tips you guys have

Thanks for the link to the error codes. Changed the password and now I get -5 (SMTP_CONNECT_FAILED). Wondering if I've had too many unsuccessful attempts today. Will try again tomorrow.

Thank you sir. Just read through the Release 5.3.4 Test Build is now available thread and although it was a bit frightening at first, by page 3 I'm feeling better. I'll do the upgrade in the next couple days. I always do it the manual route and haven't had any issues, except the couple times I've forgotten to clear the java cache. I do have the comcast parameters setup correctly except for the SMTP port which was set to 465 as above. Just changed it to 587 and I no longer get the server error when doing a test, but the email is not reaching my Inbox. Is there any way to debug this? I just pulled the latest error log ISY Error Log.v5.3.0__Wed 2021.11.17 03.43.46 PM.txt and the last line in there is this: Wed 2021/11/17 03:34:59 PM System -50001 -16 Is there any way to debug what is happening when I hit the Test button?

Thanks guys for the replies. I have been checking my ISY every couple months looking for updates and I do apply them when available. Here's my current setup: Other than that, I haven't added any new devices or programs since early 2020. @MrBillIf you would please provide your Comcast settings, I would appreciate it. I tried it a few times and can't get it to work. Here's my latest attempt at setting it up and attempting to send a test email:
-
Yep, 'cause this is the first I've heard of it! ? I actually haven't touched anything on my ISY in years. Please tell me more.

My ISY994i has been using the gmail smtp server to send emails from various programs/notifications. I just realized that I haven't received any emails recently. The last one was on Nov 2. Is anyone else using smtp.gmail.com and having issues? BTW, and sorry for what may be an obvious question, are there any log files on the ISY that would show what's happening?
-
Thanks @tmorse305. Forgot to come back and post that you were right and I got it fixed pretty quickly. Still wish I knew why this happened.

Just upgraded my ISY994i from 5.0.15 to 5.3. In many of the programs, I'm now seeing code like this: Check Away Folder Copy - [ID 003C][Parent 0001] If Folder 'Away' is True Then $[Var 2.1] = $[Var 1.1] Else $[Var 2.1] = $[Var 1.2] Is there any quick way to figure out which variables I was using in these programs?
-
Yep, thanks guys, already done. That's one of those things that for years, I had in my mental checklist to do "one day".
-
Nevermind. The answer was right in front of me. When I rebooted the ISY, it got a new IP from the router. All is well.

I have been using MobiLinc Pro for a few years and decided to give the new MobiLinc X a try. Loaded it on my iPhone and it connected to my ISY. After playing with it for a while, I realized that I don't need or even want all that extra functionality. I deleted the app and will stay with the Pro version. Now when I try to login to the Admin Console, I get the two attached errors. Could MobiLinc X have somehow trashed my configuration? I even rebooted (unplug, wait a minute, plug back in) but still get those same two errors. Any suggestions as to how to get the console working again? Thanks
