@MrBillI was looking at the Tools>Log, not the Tools>Error Log. According to UD Mobile the system went down/up this morning from 12:49 to 1:18. This is what the error log reports for that time. Tue 2023/06/06 12:48:20 AM 0 -101 portal Tue 2023/06/06 12:49:05 AM 0 -140000 my.isy.io Tue 2023/06/06 12:50:20 AM 0 -140000 my.isy.io Tue 2023/06/06 12:52:05 AM 0 -140000 my.isy.io Tue 2023/06/06 12:54:20 AM 0 -140000 my.isy.io Tue 2023/06/06 12:57:05 AM 0 -140000 my.isy.io Tue 2023/06/06 01:00:20 AM 0 -140000 my.isy.io Tue 2023/06/06 01:04:06 AM 0 -140000 my.isy.io Tue 2023/06/06 01:08:21 AM 0 -140000 my.isy.io Tue 2023/06/06 01:13:06 AM 0 -140000 my.isy.io Tue 2023/06/06 01:54:54 AM 0 -170001 <s:Envelope><s:Body><u:GetCurrentSystemStatus xmlns:u="urn:udi-com:service:X_Insteon_Lighting_Service:1"><SID>uuid:0</SID></u:GetCurrentSystemStatus></s:Body></s:Envelope Looks like Polisy was trying to hit the server at 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 minute intervals.

@MrBilllog under tools in Polisy? Nothing. Maybe event viewer? I ran the log while it was down and ran it after it came up. Not a whole lot of entries for the particular time frame. UD Mobile did not catch this mornings event. It has never been down long enough to create issue in the past. Today, so far so good. Yesterday I asked Alexa to do something at 3 or 4 different times and it was down. Agave Couldn't connect either. My 4/8 button keypads worked fine. Admin console was up and running fine.

A while back there was a UD Mobile update that started reported the portal status. Well, I never thought much about it. From the start it is constantly going offline and online maybe once a day to about 6 times a day for a minute or less. Starting yesterday, it started bouncing several times going offline for about an hour then coming back online. All the time I can access Policy from admin console. UD Mobile is not even reporting all the events. Inside of Polisy, it shows a red flag. Then green. This morning it was offline. I clicked refresh and it went back on line. I am using Polisy ver 5.6. Portal shows it offline too. Now it is online. What does this mean?

Insteon Thermostat -- Clock Incorrect -- Time in GMT Only

I couldn't find anywhere how to do the update or that an update was ready. I forced it on the Configuration tab. Thanks for the clock fix. -

@JMcKainWhere did you get 5.6.0? -
Insteon Thermostat -- Clock Incorrect -- Time in GMT Only
CPrince replied to jaydrosy's topic in IoX Support
Same problem here. All 3 of my thermostats times are off by 6 hours. I upgraded from ISY-944i were it was running fine. It worked without the write changes. I set the thermostat time every day at 3 am as to sync with programs in IoX. My time is 6 hours off no matter what time zone I set it too.. I just set it to the correct time manually then hit set time in IoX 5.5.9 and it threw it off. I guess I need to wait for the bug fix. -
I am trying to trigger a camera on my Blue Iris computer using Network Resources in IoX ver. 5.5.9 . I can do it with one problem. I have to turn off "use secure session" in Blue Iris to accept the command. Here is what I works. I have done some looking around and if I put "http://192.x.x.31:81/admin?camera=CAM6&trigger" into a web browser and hit enter it triggers the camera. Nothing else required. Blue Iris does return 4 values that I don't care about. No password or user needed and "use secure session" in Blue Iris is on. Question is, how can I send this simple one liner command to Blue Iris using Network Resources? I have blindly messed around with GET, PUSH and PUT.

@Techman @Brian H The manual stands correct. The diagram I followed was wrong. TX and RX were reversed. Thank you.

I started on the ISY to Polisy migration. I am stuck. IoX will not detect my serial PLM. My ISY works fine with the same PLM. I built the cable myself as I don't have one. I have searched all over and have come up with the same pin out. This can't be rocket science. I have built many custom RS232 cables in my life. I am using the parts as in the picture. I have continuity between pins (RG45-DB9) 1-3, 7-5 and 8-2. What gives? Is the serial port disabled? What am I missing?
-
@xgfreon That was easy. Not exactly intuitive, but easy. I didn't click around enough. Thanks.
-
@firstone I did get my image from UDI, that is what started all this. UDI is great and very helpful. My purpose of this was to create a bare metal recovery. Yes, overkill. However I can be back up and running in 30 minutes or less. As far as PG2 and PG3 databases; I thought they were in the cloud. This could be a week point for my madness. What is rsync?
-
@xgfreon So how do you put Rufus in read mode? I looked again today. Thanks
-
@TriLife, That is weird. I ordered that adapter to write the Polisy OS on the SSD per UD. I tried to do a factory reset and bricked the Polisy. I got instructions for UD on how to write the SSD. I used Rufus, like you, to write it. No problems. I wrote the procedure above to read and write a .img file so that I could backup a working system. Beside the .img file is 32 gig as it is uncompressed.

@ase, @BumbershootI figured if I were a Linux person I could probably mount the drive on a Linux box and do some more advance imaging. I am a PC guy so I had to do my way. I have limited Linux knowledge. Thanks for the good info. I will check out the provided links. I can't find anything on Eisy anywhere. I Googled it a while back. Thanks for the good info!

@vbphilYes the OS and everything is on the SSD. To me the "shiny Box" is just like a mini computer. Look at all the ports and stuff in there for SATA drives etc. I just don't want to get into it that deep. I need it to do what it is supposed to do. I have the pro unit. I would like to know if and where the Bluetooth board is. I have found the WiFI board and not a clue what to do with it or why I would want to do something with it. Someone who is really techie might want these options.

I haven't seen much on Polisy hardware in this Forum. So I figured I would add this. I like to back things up. So what if you get to digging into your Polisy and mess it up? You would have to go through all the hoopla of opening a ticket, getting the image, uncompromising it, writing it, etc. Actually it's not that hard. So I set out to back up the SSD. I used a mSATA adapter from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VP2WH73/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 to physically mount my current mSATA drive. I attached my current Polisy mSATA drive to it and inserted it into my computer USB slot. First problem, it doesn't show up in File Manager. If I look in Disk Management it is there. I can't not assign a drive letter to it. Disk Management will not let me. All my imaging tools will not work as there is no drive letter. So I do some searching and stumble across "USB Image Tool", I used version 1.8.1. You can get it here: https://filehippo.com/download_usb-image-tool/1.81/ On the options tab there is an option to show USB drives, check it. Now the Polisy mSATA shows up! You can now back it up to an image (.img) file. Writing is just as easy. I used a 32 gig Dogfish $14 mSATA from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JHKFDL9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 to write the file. I put the new drive in the Polisy and all is fine. Granted you would have to reload anything installed after you created the image. I wonder if this will work on an Isy Micro SD card?

@MrBillI am blind. It is right there! Thanks!
-
@larryllixThe other day I right clicked on a device on the main tab, by accident and I saw "find/replace". I figured I would come back to it later and check it out. Well, It is not there anymore. I can't find "find/replace" anywhere. Does the device have to be in a failed state?

@lilyoyo1@hart2hart@MrBill Thanks for the info. May put this off till next week!

I am thinking of migrating my 994 to IoP this week. Instructions look straight forward. I am probably 95% Insteon. I have a serial PLM on the 994 and a USB PLM in the closet. Question is should I just use the USB PLM on the Polisy for the migration? Or would I be better off transferring the Serial PLM from the 994 to Polisy? I would have to build a serial to RJ45 cable. I am thinking it would be safer to use the USB PLM. What about all the links stored in the PLM?

@bpwwer That being said I reinstalled Ping Node Serverin slot 1 of PG3 (it would not allow me to install in slot 3; for obvious reason) and rebooted PG3. Hubitat disappeared. I deleted Ping and now have a clean slate on PG3. I switched over to PG2 and Ping was orphaned. I rebooted PG2 and PG2 is now clear. Thanks I was dreading to do a factory reset on Polisy. It is always nice to fix things correctly.
-
@MrBill No, the ISY994 still up and running just fine. I wanted to learn how to use node servers before I blew up a production device. Looks like I took out the Polisy learning. I have the node servers removed from both the IoP and ISY944. The node server lists are clean. I have uninstalled all the node servers from PG2 and PG3. PG2 shows I am clean on both the ISY and IoP (I have to toggle the IP's and ports back and forth). PG3 shows I have the Habitat stuck on IoP. PG3 shows ISY994 is clean (I toggle at the top drop down). Since Habitat only runs on PG2, I reinstalled it in slot 3 on the IoP, verified it was installed and deleted it again. It is still stuck. @GeddyHabitat used to work correctly and look like your Hue until something got crossed. Anyway to clean out PG3? Worst case I could reload the Polisy.
-
@GeddyI did manage to get the Polisy PG2 to point to my ISY. Seems it was a port issue. Now however I am getting some really weird stuff happening. Like on the Habitat node server, I can tell Alexa to turn on/off a Habitat light and the light comes on/off and ISY shows it on. In ISY I can turn the same light on/off, the light goes on/off but ISY does't show it on. The light in ISY is also displayed as a 1/2 domino (square w/ 6 dots) and not a light. Then the Harmony app went to heck too. So I am going to unload all the nodes from the IoP, ISY, PG2 and PG3 and start over focusing on loading the ISY. If I can get this to work; why migrate to IoP?
-
@GeddyNow that I kinda have this figured out, is there a way I can move PG2 from my IoP to ISY? I have changed the address and port to the ISY, but in the log it is still looking at the IoP. Even after a power on reset.
-
@GeddyEvery time I go to Poliglot v2 and click dashboard, I would get a error. The error said "automatically found ISY at x.x.x.x:80. Please use set menu to set the password" or something like that. Well I set the password to the default and IoP; neither worked. I changed the port from 80 to 8080 and it is working. I can put nodes on IoP with V2. V2 does not seem as flexible as V3. Can't toggle between the 2 devices like V3. I tried briefly to load a node sever of ISY944 by changing the IP and port. Didn't work. May need to power cycle the Polisy. I will try later. I am probably pushing my luck.
