    Update issues

Thank you. I’ve tried to SSH into polisy with putty, but can’t access. I’m not sure I’m clear on the proper host name and port in the connection screen. I’ve looked at the forum but can’t find the proper entry info. Any further suggestions?

    Update issues

I seem to be having update issues on the polisy. I can’t seem to update/upgrade. I have version 2.2.8 and front end 2.2.8. I have an upgrade button (to 2.2.11) but when I use it, it goes through what appears to be some kind of process, but when I log back in it still is on version 2.2.8. Any suggestions on getting my polisy to update?

    Old Z Wave Module

I have an old zwave module I purchased in 2013 or thereabouts that I never added to my ISY994i ir/pro. I have added a picture for identification. I now have some zwave devices I’d like to integrate into my ISY. I am trying to decide whether I should use the existing module I already have or purchase the new 500 series module. Are there siginificant differences between the two that one would recommended the latest version module or would the existing module produce the same results or allow the same features? Spending the $40 for the new one is not an issue just wondering if it’s necessary. Thank you in advance for any feedback. Edit: I am currently using 5.0.14b
  4. Thanks for the info Teken. I just bought the mini remote so I guess I'll just have to try it out. I bought the Insteon Hub for my simple setup, but am not thrilled with it; especially the internet interface requirement to do anything. I think my old isy would be far better! All I have to do is get a new PLM for the dual band operation which actually costs less than the Insteon Hub I bought. Now that I think of it, I have an 8 scene remote at home that is a few years old that I could swap out if the 99i doesn't like the new one. Thanks for the info! JL
  5. I have an older isy99i ir pro from a previous installation in my home (before I upgraded to 994). I would like to use it for an installation in my cabin for a few devices. Can anyone confirm if it is compatible with the following insteon devices? I understand that this is no longer supported but want to do a small install and thought I would utilize the unit. I would be putting the last available firmware from UDI on it (3.3.10). 6. I have a scene with 2 KPL's to turn a single light fixture on and off. KPL1 is a dimmer and has a load connected and I use button .1 (the main load button) to ramp the scene on/off. KPL2 is a dual-band relay and has no load connected (the red load wire on the KPL is capped with a wire nut) and I use button .1 (the main load button) to turn the scene on/off. I am using .1 button on both for uniformity in labeling the same button on each KPL to control the same light. When I use the scene, it clearly turns the relay KPL on/off with a very audible click sound...Is there any way to get the .1 LED to respond on/off on KPL2 without actually turning the relay on/off since I am not using KPL2 for any load? If that is not possible, is there any problem with letting the KPL2 relay turn on/off with the scene? The reason I ask is that as I have it now (the KPL2 relay turning on/off with scene) their is a slightly louder hum or buzz sound from the relay when it is on than when it is off (it still buzzes/hums lightly when off). Just want to make sure I am doing everything correctly with this particular scene setup. Thanks in advance, Jasson
  7. Ok. Thanks for the add'l info Lee. Looks like I'm out of luck then. I will probably just have to pick up a Normal KPL and replace these things. They are very limited in use, especially in light of the fact I am not using several of the buttons. With the ISY99i, I can create my own timers... Thanks again, Jasson Lamb
  8. it shows multiple nodes...8 to be exact. I could probably do programs that say if control KPL Timer.H is pressed on then perform scene....however, I think it will also turn on the lights attached to that KPL when you push that node button and then start a countdown... I guess I may have to try some trial and error. Jasson
  9. Does anyone know if the new revisions of the KPL 2484D Countdown timers (like v5.5) being used with an isy99i will give independent control of any unused buttons? I have two of these, but I never use the 30 min, 1 hr, 2hr, 4hr buttons on these...can I use these buttons as controllers for other scenes that I create like a normal KPL (non countdown timer)? In hindsight, knowing what I know now of the isy99i, I would have never done a countdown timer since I could have done my own programs with a regular 8 button KPL. Additionally, do you know if you can "reflash" the firmware on these things to a make it a KPL 2486D? Thanks for any and all info... Jasson
  10. I am considering replacing my projector in my HT with an Epson 5010. This is a 3D projector that uses IR to communicate with the 3D glasses. I have read over on AVS forums that there are IR interference issues with this projector and 3D glasses when using other IR components (receiver, bd player, etc..). I have an ISY99i as controller for my Insteon home automation setup. The ISY (and therefore IR receiver on the ISY99i) is located in my theater room where this projector would be located. I am trying to find out if anyone here has experienced any IR interference issues with the ISY99i and this series of projector (epson 3010/5010/6010)? Thanks for any input, Jasson Lamb
  11. i have a generator backfeed setup to my electrical panel that was installed by an electrician. It feeds to a breaker in my main panel and in order to turn it on (the breaker), it has a metal slide that requires the main breaker to the panel to be in the off position (so electricity from the generator can not be fed into the main electrical feeds coming into the house). Then I just turn on whatever breakers I would like power to be extended to from the generator. I have a small yamaha ef2800i which feeds fairly clean power to my breaker and I can confirm that my devices and scenes DO work using that generator, but I must turn on the breaker providing electricity to my isy99i. My specific generator doesn't power the whole house but gets the job done in a pinch, providing basic lighting, keeping freezers/refrigs cold, and allowing me to run the fan for my gas hvac system to keep the house warm.
  12. I know your post is pretty old now, but I stumbled upon your post looking for something else. I have light scenes that take place when I play, pause, or watch movies. I have my isy99i ir pro doing some pretty amazing things combined with a global cache ip2ir. BTW, I have a denon avr-4311 and an epson 6500ub projector. If you have any questions about any specifics, let me know. I may be of help. One example is that I have a 8 button kpl on the wall. When I hit one of the KPL buttons (Theater AV), it turns on the denon rec/amp, turns on the epson 6500ub, turns on the dish network sat reciever (to sportscenter!), and turns the lights to an "intermission" light scene. When I hit the button again to turn off, it turns everything off! It works great and my wife loves it! If I can be of any help let me know!
  13. ok...i think I found the problem. If I rename it was showing not specified in program but if I leave the admin console and log back in then it seems to rename correctly in the program. For some reason it was not updating/refreshing programs on the fly? Jasson
  14. I have scoured the boards and cant seem to find an answer to my question. When I rename a device (right click on device and select rename), it does not seem to update the device name in my programs (the name in the program changes to "not specified")... Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to rename a device and have it update to the new name in all programs? Thanks, Jasson L
