I have a new Eisy and looking to migrate from a polisy with PG3x using the hue and ring plugins. I’ve been scouring the threads and everything I’m running across is that you can’t go from polisy PG3x to Eisy PG3x (just pg3 to PG3x) and it Seems as if you have to reinstall plugins, etc. My concern is I have many scenes and programs using hue nodes (bulbs) in IoX and losing all the nodes in my scenes and programs upon migration and having to redo all of those. Many of the threads regarding this are old and mentioned a future fix to go from PG3x to PG3x. Does anyone know if this is the case? Will I have to reconstruct all of my hue and/or ring nodes in scenes and programs in IoX? Thanks in advance!

I tried many restarts with no luck. I ended up just deleting the nodes in pg3x that I had changed or deleted in the Hue app (hub). With a pg3x restart, it added the nodes I had deleted in pg3x with the newly named nodes from the hue hub. The downside was that all of the nodes I had deleted in pg3x were removed from any scenes or programs in admin console even after reloading them. I suspected that might happen so, before I had made any changes, I took pictures of all scenes and programs within admin console that were using the old nodes to make it easier to reconstruct.

Thanks for the reply. The changes are being made in the Hue app on my iPhone not in admin console. I am trying to get PG3x and admin console to reflect the changes I have made in the Hue app.

I changed the name of the some of the hue bulbs, rooms, and zones (also deleted a couple of zones) using the Hue app, but I can't seem to get the Hue plugin in PG3x or IoX to update the changes. I had done a name change of a room and it updated before I did the rest of the changes so it seems as if it’s possible. I just have no idea how to initiate the change. I also don’t know why the one random room name change updated but when I made multiple changes I can’t seem to get anything to update. I’ve tried multiple node restarts, tried reboots in IoX, even tried power cycling. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

So, what seemed to be happening to me was that some sort of configuration file was still trying to populate information from hue. I ended up trying several things including deleting node servers, directories, and deleting pg3 at one point and reinstalling. I even did a factory reset of the Polisy. None of that worked as every time I would try to add hue after all that, it would pick up previous config file of some sort. It seemed polisy (pg2 and pg3) were loading some previous config based on IP address. What I did was changed the static IP address on the hue that I was using to a new address and then updated the router to reflect IP address reservation. After that, the hub was found and loaded all nodes as expected in PG3 using the regular install instructions. I hope this helps your situation. Jasson

@StangManD Can you post what your hue node server configuration screen looks like in ISY. Mine is not populating automatically so I may need to add it manually, but not sure of the proper inputs into that screen. Jasson

I am running on a Polisy.

I have had things working with the unamanaged slot showing up in PG3 previously. It now seems I have some config files that are corrupted or causing issues. I've tried uninstalling PG3, PG2, etc. to no avail. I've factory reset Polisy. The root of the issue is around a Hue hub NS in PG2. The Hue hub was factory reset and when trying to add it back, it keeps pulling up old username of hub and wont add nodes like normal. It's like it has settings saved in an old config file on Polisy. I've been trying to find a way to completely delete all config files from PG2, PG3, general Polisy, etc. so I can start over. I have been unable to do this. At this point I am wanted to just completely delete all polisy settings and start over. When I did a facory reset, it still had some of my saved settings that showed back up. I'm at a loss. Jasson

Thank you for the information. If anyone knows how to do that with PG2, it would be much appreciated! Jasson

Does that delete just the isy package or does that delete everything?

Can anyone tell me how to completely delete polisy and start from scratch? I’ve got a few strange things going on that I have been unable to resolve. Seems I’m somehow getting old config files to keep loading into PG2 and pg3 even when I delete them. It’s causing problems when I’m trying to configure PG2/pg3 and node servers. Wanting to just delete everything and do a clean install. I would then restore isy from a backup and start PG2 and PG3 from fresh install. I did a factory reset and it seems it still had some items saved from some kind of config file. Thank you, Jasson

I have pg3 up and running but it is not showing my isy portal (unmanaged) node server. The portal node server does show up under my pg2 dashboard and in my isy node server configuration (slot1). Any suggestions to get this node server to show up under pg3?

Anyone know if you can do a backup of PG2 from a raspberry pi and restore said backup onto the Polisy? I am wanting to do this so I don’t have to reload and setup my node servers manually. Thanks, Jasson Lamb

Any recommendation for zwave devices that would work in a 4 way switch setup? Had a switchlinc that died in that setup where I had 3 switchlincs controlling a single light. Looking at replacing all three of those switches and keeping the two working as spares for others I have. Looking for devices that would communicate with each other (a local association similar to Insteon) and also could be seen by IoP through zooz zwave stick. jasson

I have a polisy running isy and hue Node server on pg2. After migration from ISY, I have an issue where my hue lights in isy scenes will seem to quit working at times. For example, i have an Insteon switchlinc that turns on an isy scene that includes a couple of lights on Insteon devices plus a a hue room scene (that has 3 hue lights in it). When I turn on the switchlinc, only the non hue lights turn on. The hue lights do continue to work using my echo or the hue app. This is issue comes and goes. It seems the isy loses connection to the hue bridge. I have another switchlinc with a similar setup and the same thing happens. When the problem is happening at one switchlinc it is also happening at the other. Any ideas or suggestions as to what might be going on? Update: with a little more troubleshooting, I found a couple more things…if I want into ISY dashboard and the main tab if I tried to turn on or off any hue hue lights (via Node server connection), they would not respond. I went into PG2 and did a restart polyglot, and now they work. Somehow, polyglot (I only have hue Node server on polyglot) is losing its connection with ISY on a regular basis. jasson

Thank you for the info. Does anyone happen to know the latest version of polyglot V2? I've managed to get all other updates but seems the V2 has not updated in some time. I'm at version 2.2.13.

I am trying to understand the update process for Polisy with polygot 2/3 and ISY. I am not sure about the order process in updating the various parts. What order do I update in? I.E. Do I update Polisy first, then Polgyot 2 and 3 next , followed by any Node server updates, and lastly ISY version? I have not been able to find info that details this. Thanks in advance.

Yes the dashboard at bottom does point to ISY version 5.3.0 on Polisy (was 5.3.4 under 994) for both PG2 and PG3. Interestingly, my PG3 no longer has the banner, just PG2. I'm not even sure what I did to get PG3 to drop that banner, but it did! That is interesting. My nodeservers appear to be working properly and all migration from 994 to Polisy went smoothly. It may just be some sort of bug at the moment as everything does appear to work. I use the Philips Hue nodeserver on PG2 and I can confirm Hue lights respond instantly to scenes changes issued through the ISY on Polisy. There was always a slight lag with PG2 on Polisy and ISY on 994 combo. Jasson

Thanks for the info. I did as you suggested and it actually updated the isy version to 5.3 which is the Polisy ISY version, however, I am still getting the red banner about ISY not being discovered on your network. Not sure what I have going on. The Hue nodes do seem to be working. Not sure if I should ignore this red banner or if there is something further I need to address. Jasson

I have gone through the steps of migrating from isy994i to polisy using the guide by dbwarner5. I have successfully migrated and things seem to be working. One odd issue is that when I did the migration of PG2 to new isy per his directions (settings pointing to the polisy version of ISY), I continue to get a banner that says: ISY was not automatically discovered on your local network. Please configure it in the settings menu now. Also, it still shows my old version of 994i software in the polyglot version details on dashboard. What seems odd is that I am using Philips Hue for Polyglot and everything seems to be working ok. My PG3 install also gives me a similar banner about not being able to find isy. FYI, my 994I is unplugged, so it is not still running through that device. Any suggestions? Jasson

I have updated polyglot password but am trying to update polisy password. I can't seem to find info on updating the password at the polisy level using SSH. Can you please give me some guidance? Jasson

Here is a follow up on my issue. I believe due to the age of the Polisy (I received the pro version when they first rolled out), it was having updating problems after trying the different suggestions in the forum and through the wiki. As suggested here, I sent in a ticket to UDI. Working with Michael, I tried different SSH commands he was asking me to complete and sent the outputs to him. In the end, Michael walked me through the process of allowing him remote access by which he logged in and fixed the issue. I am now fully updated and functional and service was second to none! JL

Thanks for the help. Just trying to update the polisy to latest version as yours is showing Geddy. However, mine is staying stuck at version 2.2.8. and front end version of 2.2.8. My ISY version is 5.3.4 as yours shows. I’ve tried the methods as detailed in the polisy wiki but with no luck. I will open a ticket as you suggest. Thanks again!

So, I was able to login using SSH. Went through the package update and upgrade commands as suggested by Geddy. After finishing, I logged back into my polisy with my web browser. It is still showing 2.2.8 as the version. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. Any ideas?

I reviewed that in the wiki, however it doesn’t address the port that putty asks for. I’ve gone through those directions and replace admin with my actual username I set and also tried with my updated password.
