  1. You know, usually I look at the manual. I have been working on programming some vacation modes so I have been in the admin console and the forums and I didn't even think of the manual. I feel stupid. Sorry and thank you.
  2. My son was playing around with a keypadlinc and now it beeps whenever any button is pressed. Anyone know how he did that and how to turn it off? Thank you.
  3. Does anyone know why there is a © listed in the setpoint box on the isy99 admin console to the right of the temperature on my 2441V? It is showing as 72 and that must be F and not C so I am wondering if anyone has seen this or if it indicative of any bigger issue. Thanks in advance.
  4. I followed this thread and did a search for other threads but cannot find the solution to my problem. I just purchased and installed 3 2441v thermostats in early July 2011. They are showing up as V.92. I went into linking mode on my isy99/IR and help down the programming button on the 1st unit for 5 seconds. 4 nodes showed up on the isy. I repeated this procedure for the other two 2441v and all worked as expected. When I started observing the main node for each of them, I saw that only the 3rd one had a value in the "Heat/Cool State" on the bottom. The other two were just blank. Following this thread, and assuming that perhaps my units were not off when I linked, I deleted the other two 2441v's from the ISY and repeated the installation/linking. All 3 units now had values for the "Heat/Cool State". However, when I logged out of the Admin Console and back in again, now the second 2441v has a value and the other two don't!!! And, it seems like the value is not correct - it said it was off when it was clearly on. Another logoff and logon and now I have one showing an accurate state (I think) and the other two showing nothing. Something is not working and I am not sure what or why. Can anyone offer suggestion? Thanks in advance.
  5. There is a possibility that I manually added all of these switches instead of doing the automatic linking. Someone told me that might explain the problems I am having. I honestly don't remember or think that I could have manually added all of these 30+ switches but I guess it is possible. I have already removed 4 of my switches from all programs and scenes, deleted them, did a factory reset on them and then relinked them automatically. This seemed to have fixed the problem so I guess I need to now do this for all my other switches. Now, if anyone can think of an easier way to do this for all the switches, that would be great . Thx.
  6. Both the few that I have already deleted and re-added as well as all the ones that are not properly reporting back to the ISY are all red. I have 4 appliance links that have always been blue, though. What does that mean? Thx.
  7. I am not sure what Firmware I am on. When I go to About it says: Insreon_UD99 v.2.8.16 and ISY 99i/IR (1030) - Open Auto-DR (21010) By the way, this seems to be happening with EVERY light. I will try one at a time to see if deleting and adding back the device will help. Do you have any recommendations on the easiest way to do this? Thx.
  8. Definitely no motion sensors or floodlights. I have no idea if my neighbors use x10. As for any other devices, I am not 100% sure but I don't think I have anything else besides the old model 4 toggle wall switches. Any other way to check?
  9. PLM is 0F.9E.6C Outside Deck is 04.49.3B On the Device Links Table for the switch called Outside - Deck, I get three results: 0FF8 : A2 00 0F.9E.6C FF 1F 00 0FF0 : A2 24 0F.9E.6C FF 1F 00 0FE8 : 00 24 0F.9E.6C FF 1F 00 When I do a Show PLM Links, I get a count of 247. I searched through all of them and found two entries for 04.49.3B as follows: 00E1: E2 00 04.49.3B 02 0B 28 00E2: E2 24 04.49.3B 02 0B 28 Now what?
  10. I am trying to troubleshoot some other issues I am having with the switches not reporting back their state to the ISY unless a query is run (but that is in another thread). When I ran a log, I saw that I, as recently as the last 24 hours, had several instances of X10 activity. Although I started as an X10 system and slowly switched over first to a hybrid system and then to an insteon-exclusive system, I am wondering what these X10 actions can be and if they are affecting my current setup. I don't see anything in my ISY admin console having to do with X10 so I am wondering if anyone has any ideas how I can research this further. I still have a few X10 switches installed but they are only connected to power (not to any devices) and are not being used. I wouldn't mind removing all X10 from my ISY setup. Thx.
  11. Communication from my ISY to my devices is fine. All my scenes and programs work well. But the devices just don't seem to be reporting their status back to the ISY unless I do a query. I tried restoring an individual device and then I did a Restore Modem (PLM) and neither of those made a difference. The status on the ISY does not get updated until I run a query. I just loaded the PLM Links Table and it counted 247 links. I don't know what other diagnostics to run to try to fix this issue. Any other assistance would be most appreciated.
  12. I am trying to make a program that relies on the status of a switch so that if a switch is supposed to be on and my kid turns it off, it will go back on. It hasn't worked and I think I found the root of the problem. When a switch is pressed, the state is not automatically updated on the ISY99 until I do a query. This is happening to many (if not all) of my switches whether they are ICONs or Switchlincs. The switches I am currently testing these on are 2876S v.28 and 2876SB v.39. So I guess the first question is whether this is normal (which I doubt) and if anyone has any suggestions on how to fix it. Then, what do people think about workarounds such as running a query every 5 minutes on just those lights? Or what about using control instead of status? But, ideally, I would like to get this two-way stuff working. Thx in advance.
  13. If you right-click on the device and choose "Diagnostics->Show Device Links Table," you should see at least one link with the address of your PLM and a 00 group code. Without that entry, my understanding is that the device will not brodcast any information when it is locally controlled. I did as you suggested. I have 16 links associated with the "Bathroom - Powder" light switch. I am not sure what the address of my PLM is nor do I know what a 00 group code means. But it seems that this has proper links so the fact that it still doesn't properly control the scene remains a mystery. Any further advice? Thx.
  14. Sorry I missed this one earlier. On the lower right-hand side of the GUI, there are buttons to add "And ( )" and Or ( )." Using them is a bit of an art: 1) select the button to add the parenthtical into your top level condition with an And or an Or as needed, 2) add you conditions for the parenthetical in the normal fashion (this will append them to the bottom of the top level condition, and then 3) use the "Move Line Up" button to move the conditions into the parenthetical one-by-one. You may then need to select the lines and adjust the OR or AND for the condition to get it to read the way you want. Note that without the parenthesis, I believe the order of operations is AND and then OR. Thanks for the info. But can I assume that, based on my extremely simple program just to try to get this working, the parenthesis won't affect anything?
  15. I did as you said and my count is 220. That seems to make sense as I have around 50 devices and 5+ 8-button KPLs. So I guess that is not the problem. Any other suggestions.
  16. I assume you mean the event viewer and not the log. No matter what switch I press, nothing shows up in the event viewer. If I activate a light through the admin console, I do see entries show up in the event viewer. Any ideas what is going on? Thx.
  17. Well last night I was tapping the switch (actually, I was sending my 10 year old to do it) and it wasn't working. Today, I am in the office and I sent a command through the ISY. I now understand that the latter won't work and I need to wait until I get home to further test. However, how do I check to see if the switch has the PLM in its link table (and, vice-versa)? Thanks.
  18. Sending an off command to the powder room does NOTHING on the program summary page. And the . in front is only because I made a folder with all my lights called ".Lights". So what could possibly be wrong here? This is so unusual.
  19. If Control '.Lights / Bathroom - Powder' is switched Off Then Wait 5 seconds Set Scene 'Bathrooms - All' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') ---------------------- How do I add "parenthesis around the ORed control statements"? Thx.
  20. I added the den light to the scene and then removed it and that fixed the scene problem. I also ran a scene test and all 5 bathroom lights came back as successful. The light switch in the bathroom is hard-wired to the light. But, again, it is just programmed as a responder (which I think is proper). I tried my program again (which is simply to turn on the scene when off is pressed in the powder room) and it still doesn't work. I added a 10 second wait on the first line of the THEN command and it STILL doesn't work. I am so thankful for all your ideas and would love to hear some more from you. Thanks again.
  21. I am just tapping the down paddle to turn the light off - not holding it down. The scene responds fine in a different program but I have no programs triggered by the switch - the switch is just a responder not a controller. Does that make a difference? Also, when I just manually turned on the scene in the console, one of my Den lights just turned on and off. There should be no reason that that should happen and I have no idea why or how to troubleshoot. Similarly, the scene test fails on two of the five lights (though the powder room passed) and, again, the lights respond in the scene. Thanks again for all the help.
  22. Yes. I can run the scene properly. I will make this even easier. I simplified everything and the following program called 'Bathrooms - Persist' still doesn't work: If Control '.Lights / Bathroom - Powder' is switched Off Then Set Scene 'Bathrooms - All' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Does that help? Thx.
  23. Sadly, this doesn't work. I have a scene called 'Bathrooms - All' which includes all my bathroom switches and turns all of them on. I have the first program called 'Bathrooms' which I tested tonight to set the 'Bathrooms - All' scene to on. I made another program called 'Bathrooms - Persist' which says: If Control '.Lights / Bathroom - Master' is switched Off Or Control '.Lights / Bathroom - Powder' is switched Off etc. Then Set Scene 'Bathrooms - All' On That didn't work and neither did it work when I changed the "Then" to say: Then Run Program 'Bathrooms' (Then Path) What am I missing?
  24. And you think i don't need anything else except that one program? What about if someone taps the bottom of a light switch? I ask because my current program is to turn on the Bathroom Lights scene from 10pm until sunrise and an off command at the switch turns it off and keeps it off. Thx.
  25. Oh sorry. I want the lights to remain on from 10PM until sunrise.
