I just had a Lamplinc go bad on me so I replaced it (2456D3) I drop it into one of my scenes and it works fine, except it is on 100% or fast off -- the settings I make in the scene don't seem to work from the controller (KPL) If I turn the scene on and off from the computer it works fine and will ramp at the speed I set it to and level? Am I doing something wrong? I have not had to do much with my network for a couple of years and I may have forgotten something? FYI I am using the ISY26 Thanks Glenn

Hi Michel: All is well, the ISY is working great -- that's why you haven't heard from me. I have sent the email and thanks again for the great service !! Glenn

Hi Guys: I have been using my ISY with a PC for a long time and logging in using the ip address / admin --- I just got a new Imac and Airport extreme router -- this address no longer works -- also, it looks like I can't access the programs from the Imac as well? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks Glenn

I was thinking about adding IR as well, that was my interest in the 99. Do you think this was a fluke or is my PLM likely to act up again? Thanks Glenn
-
Hi Michel: That seems to be the problem. I now have my triggers back but one of my switches seems to be acting up when I turn it off (doesn't seem to want to work) It may be a bad switch. It is interesting that it started acting up the same time as this problem began? I am thinking about doing the upgrade from the 26 to the 99 -- does the 99 come with a new PLM? Thanks again for the help Glenn

Hi Michel: The triggers are device status based. The status is not being reported correctly by the ISY when turned on and off at the switch -- the devices can be controlled correctly from the ISY and the status is correct if I "query" the device Thanks in advance Glenn

Hi Michel: My devices, scenes and timers work. I can turn off items from my administrative console, only the triggers that don't work. The status of the triggers that are not working is "false"
-
I have had this happen before and a re-boot worked - not this time
-
Today my triggers have stopped working. I powered down my ISY and PLM but still no luck. This has happened in the past and usually a re-boot fixes it? (time change automatically to standard time today 0 Thanks in advance

Yes, thanks, that is correct. I see the status of the devices not the scenes. I was surprised that it worked at all (and pleased). Do you know if it's possible to get the administrative console to work with the palm? Even more valuable to me would be to access the isy with my Blackberry. I have logged into the test set up with no problem, but if you remember, I have a hughes modem/linksys router and haven't been able to access my isy from outside with the blackberry yet. I love the ISY -- works flawlessly and does everything I want it to.

I have an older Palm that has wireless internet on it. I just tried to connect to "my lighting" using the ip address - the screen that shows "devices - scenes-adminstrative console" pops up. I can't connect to the adminstrative console (I assume that Java is not installed on the palm) but scenes and devices are there and work perfectly -- only one thing -- I can't tell the status (on or off) of the device or scene. This makes a great touchscreen remote but I would like to see the status if possible? Thanks Glenn

Clicking buttons in 2.6.2 from Blackberry locks up ISY

I can get into the devices and scenes but I don't see the status -
Hi Michel: I upgraded to 2.6.2 and everything is working fine. I do have a question, when I purchased my ISY there was another program on the disc that came with it for direct computer control. Mine has never worked correctly. It is not really very important but if it would work I may use it from time to time. The scenes and devices all appear but nothin works. Other than the leap year bug everything has been rock solid, I really love the ISY !!!! Thanks Glenn

I see the post down two lines. I searched the forum and the insteon forum last night and couldn't seem to find that post !! --- I will upgrade and see what happens.

I read something about this someplace but can't seem to find the post. On Mar 1st my date went back to Feb 29th and the timers stopped working. I changed the date to Mar 1st and the next day the date was back to Feb 29th. I changed it to Mar 2nd yesterday and now the date is correct be the timers don't seem to be firing? Thanks in advance.

Yes, for me, the two program option actually works better, I can trigger the program from several sources very easily and I get the same result with all of the correct KPL lights -- it was easier then writing triggers for three switches. Thanks a lot, I really like this. You could have two programs that are similar and run at different times of the day - a lot of possibilities !!
-
I get it now, I feel like a bonehead for not getting it the first time. That works perfecly -- I will use this function again -- brilliant !!! Got to love the ISY !!!

This was the way I actually wanted it to work but the program quit as soon as the status on the stairway was true (stairway is in the "movie" scene): If Status 'Stairway' is Off And Control 'Stairway' is switched Off Then Set Scene 'Movie' On Set 'Guitar Room Center' 50% Wait 3 minutes Set 'Guitar Room Center' Off Else I have been using fast on and it works fine, I just like "off" as a trigger. With a slow ramp rate someone that is visiting may hit a switch twice when they don't get an immediate response. Also, the wife is used to fast on when she wants full bright, I'm sure I'll here about it if that doesn't work and she gets a trigger instead.
-
The reason I looked at status was because I like using "off" as the trigger if the light is actually "status off" --- the reason is, fast on is easy to do by mistake, on is what I want for the local load and if the load is "on" and turned "off" I don't want that action to activate the trigger. Is there a way to use "off" as a trigger when the load is part of the scene? (I suppose "fast off" would work)
-
Thanks so much for the help. I see that I can have two programs with the same scene, just different levels, when the trigger is pressed, wait a bit and then run scene 2. That would work as well. The part that was confusing me was the status -- I thought that the status would be checked when the trigger was pressed and then not checked again, I see now that it is a condition for the program to run and the program stops when the status changes. I think I can find some advantages to that in other ways !!

You are correct, stairway is in the "Movie" scene. This works, I just don't really like using double tap (fast on) It is too easy to trigger it by mistake. What I am trying to do is have the lights in the movie room come on until I get in my chair, DVD loaded and a beer at my side before the lights dim - not an unreasonable request? If Control 'Stairway' is switched Fast On Then Set 'Guitar Room Center' 50% Set 'Guitar Room' 70% Set 'Theatre Sconce's' 70% Set 'Stairway' 70% Wait 3 minutes and 30 seconds Set 'Guitar Room Center' Off Set Scene 'Movie' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')
-
Here is another example that would do the same thing but it stops before the last command leaving "Guitar Room Center" on. If Status 'Stairway' is Off And Control 'Stairway' is switched Off Then Set Scene 'Movie' On Set 'Guitar Room Center' 50% Wait 3 minutes Set 'Guitar Room Center' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')
-
I see. I have trouble understanding the order of things, my sense is that the condition would start the program and it would complete the cycle, from what you say that is not correct. So, would it work if I moved the part from "wait 3 minutes, etc to the "else section" ?? Eg: If Status 'Guitar Room Center' is Off And Control 'Guitar Room Center' is switched On Then Set 'Guitar Room' 60% Set 'Guitar Room Center' 60% Set 'Theatre Sconce's' 60% Else Wait 3 minutes Run program 'Watch Movie' Set 'Guitar Room Center' Off
-
Here is a program that doesn't run as I would expect? If Status 'Guitar Room Center' is Off And Control 'Guitar Room Center' is switched On Then Set 'Guitar Room' 60% Set 'Guitar Room Center' 60% Set 'Theatre Sconce's' 60% Wait 3 minutes Set 'Guitar Room Center' Off Set Scene 'Movie' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') What happens is the first part of "then" runs correctly but after the 3 minutes the next two items don't trigger. Thanks in advance Glenn

I am not sure if this can be done? I have a theatre room downstairs and I have a trigger that turns on the lights from the wall switch at the entry. After a couple of minutes the lights dim to the correct level for watching the movie. I also have a scene on a KPL upstairs that is called movie -- it actually controls a scene "movie" What I would like to do is have the "movie" button on the KPL lit if any of the downstairs lights are on when set by triggers or individual control. That way I won't forget to turn them off.
