  1. Hi Mark: Sorry for the confusion. I'll try to describe as best as I can. The sub button on the KPL is a conroller of a scene that includes the large "on" button (6 button) mode -- the LEDs follow the scene but the actual light attached to the load doesn't come on. I have another button on a different KPL that is also a controller for that scene and when IL press it the scene works as it should (including the load on the other KP's large button) Thanks in advance Glenn
  2. I am sure this has been covered before but I thought I would ask anyway (have been searching but can't seem to find the answer) I created a scene with a group of devices (called "Movie" on one KPL (eight button mode) the "d" button is the controller - works perfect. One light (stairway) is part of that scene. On the stairway KPL (6 button mode) I have the stairway lights as the load and the top button is "on" and bottom button is "off" -- button "C" is movie and I dropped that into the same scene as a controller -- the KPL lights are in sync but the scene doesn't respond correctly from the KPL that has the load on it -- I do have a couple of KPL's in the house in 8 button config and they include the "load" in some of the scenes - no problem. Is this a limitation of the 6 button mode or am I doing something wrong? Thanks Glenn

RESOLVED -- after spending some time with Michel on the phone last evening we now have everything working -- I feel a bit dumb but there seems to be a minor bug in the program. I am using a laptop and was tapping the touchpad to move the sliders -- they move by doing this but don't update the rr and level. You must hold down the left mouse button and drag the slider. Seems very basic now that I know, it is easily done incorrectly on a laptop. Thanks so much to Michel for the wonderful support !!! No other company would take the time to give you such great personal service !!! I would gladly invest in anything UD made !!! (maybe even if I didn't need it) Glenn

Hi Alf: Thanks for the help. That is exactly what I am doing - in houselinc you press F2 adjust the ramp rate and then save it to the network -- works fine. With the ISY I open the scene -- go to the item I want to change - adjust the level and ramp rate - there seems to be no way to save it and it doesn't change the level in real time -- as soon as I leave the "scene" and come back the changes are gone and we are back to what we started with? Thanks I must be missing one step somewhere - I would think there would be some kind of a "save" ?? Glenn

Hi Michel: I am missing something in the translation. I have read all of the doc's about creating a scence and ramp rate and for the most part it is very clear to me. I have created numerous scenes, triggers and timers and they are all working fine. I can move devices in and out of the scenes by dragging and dropping or right clicking - all very easy to understand but the ramp rates and on levels are not working for me. For and example, I have a living room scene that is controled by C on a keypad link -- the scene contains 7 lamplincs and one switchlinc -- they all have had their ramp rates set in houselinc and these are the values you see when you veiw the scene by clicking on its node. I can go to all of the devices as described in the literature and adjust the ramp rates and levels with the sliders but I can see no way to save this configuration? As soon as I click on another node the levels and ramp rates go back to their previous values. I have tried doing it many different ways but always the same result. I must be missing some step and can't figure it out from the manual. Thanks in advance Glenn

I have been playing around with the ISY for a few days now and have become comfortable with most of the functions. I have a few things that I can't seem to make work: 1 In a scene I should be able to adjust the ramp rates and levels of the different devices, I can do this but if I escape the scene and go back the levels and ramp rates have gone back to what they were when I started? 2. I can't access it from the internet, I believe I need to make some ajustments to my router and I am not sure what to do and still have a secure network. I have a Linksys router. 3: I would also like to be able to access "my lighting" on the browser on my Blackberry ? Will this be possible? 4: I have been able to get a text message to let me know a timer or event has run but I can't seem to find out how to have an email alert? This would be handy so I can tell what time my wife gets home, that way I can call her and have her put supper on !! (that is of course, a joke) !! So far I have been really pleased with the ISY, it is a learning curve but I enjoy the challenge. It is stable and everything I have done so far works flawlessly !!! Thanks in advance Glenn

Great tips, I can easily see how to use two programs. What would be nice is if you could program: If time = sunset set low voltage to on: if time = 11 PM then set low voltage to off Using a number of hours varies the "off" time, I would like to see it all in one program just to keep the number of entries down.

I can set a timer for outside lights that come on at sunset - can you set the option to turn "off" that group of devices at say 11 PM within the same program or does that require a second program ? Thanks Glenn
  12. Is this available yet (mobile phone access)?? I have a browser on my blackberry and would love to be able to turn the lights on from the BB on my way home.
  13. That is the program I am asking about, what is the pupose of it? Thanks Glenn
  14. I have triggers working now, I see that I need to create a folder called triggers. I do have a program that I didn't create called "Query All" Any ideas what that is or if I can delete it? The program was already there. I am catching on and seem to be getting it up to speed slowly - I really like the ISY, just so much different from Houselinc I need to re-learn everything. Thanks Glenn
  15. Hi Rand: Thanks for the info, I am using 2.4.14 and I have the tab called "program details" -- I see "my programs" and a couple of timers I set that don't work? Where can I find "triggers" ?? I also see "my lighting on my laptop but not my desktop computer. Upnp is enabled and the icons are showing. An example of a timer I want to set is "low voltage" (a scene) to come on at sunset and off at 11 pm ? For triggers, I want a different trigger if i press a button twice -- I was able to do this easily in houslinc but houslinc seemed to work one day and not the next., I also don't like leaving a computer on all the time. I enabled internet access but can't seem to find the GUI from another location? Sorry for the elementary questions but I must be missing something in my procedure? Please bear with me, once I figure this out I will make the best use of it !!! Glenn
  16. I have all of my lighting renamed and responding now. I can only create a scene by highlighting the device and right click using "add to scene", then choose either "controller/responder" I thought there was a "drag and drop" function ??? Not a problem, just a misunderstanding or I am doing it incorrectly. Second problem is I can not find any place to create a "trigger" or a "schedule" I have looked at the examples in the manual and I can't find those options. One difference I see is that my administrative console shows "network" and "my lighting" -- "triggers" and "programs" are not there ? When I open the "configuration" tab I don't see the nodes or the left and I can't see any way to re-size the frame? I am sure it will work great once I understand what I am doing wrong. Thanks in advance Glenn
  17. I just installed my ISY last evening - it found all of my devices and imported all of my scenes. I renamed everything and it all looks correct, I can control all of the devices and scenes from the ISY but the scenes always seem to turn on "full on" from the GUI. I also have not been able to understand the drag and drop for a scene - I create a scene but when I highlight the item I want as a responer the right window is now for that item, not the scene? I also have not been able to find the trigger function. I have two nodes that show in ISY -- My Network and My Lighting. I have created a couple of test programs but the folders don't show up and the programs don't run? Thanks in advance Glenn
