  1. Good insight. Your knowledge is unparalleled. How do you know all this? Avid reader or do you have the sdk? Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk
  2. I have just started messin around with the ' adjust scene' statement to control light behavior based on time. First off bravo. Works so well and is just plain neat to have that effect. I am wondering if there is another way adjust the scene as a whole, or if you have to set the ramp rate and brightness level individually for every responder in a scene. Also too reading up on my Insteon documentation I see that you can also turn off lights when activating a scene. This was a new thought to me. I always added lights to scenes to turn them on. Cool stuff! Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk

    New PLM

If anyone is pondering this move please note that in addition to needing to add a external power supply for your ISY, you lose the extra power receptacle built into the old plm. Meaning old plm had "always on" 3 prong receptacle. New plm has nada. This is seriously cramping my wiring box with wall warts... On the other hand my system is running like butter since the change. Ps my power supply for the ISY puts out 1800 milliamps, but I see only 300 miliamps is needed. Should I find a power supply with less amperage? Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk
  4. Fist bumpin' too. Congrats. Just teach them when they are young then you can have a automation buddy. Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk

    New PLM

I was thinking of getting the Dual Band PLM to improve communication of my Insteon/ISY network. Question the first: Can I switch the PLM that came with my ISY to the dual band? Question B: Does anyone know of/experienced any improvement by moving to the dual band device?
  7. Thanks for the detailed examples LeeG and Thruster999. I am excited to give it a try. I do like the idea of using a variable to track the different states of the house through out the day. How did you mount the motion sensor in the bathroom? I would love to use one indoors but they are a little bulky and unsightly. Thanks! Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk
  8. What is the easiest way to change how a light behaves based on time? I would like different on levels and ramp rates based on time. I tried to make a program that changed activated different scenes based on time, but I didn't get good results. Thanks! Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk
  9. LeeG, Thanks for the info. You were right and the power cycle caused the changes to take. I have not heard of this before. Has then always been the way with LampLinc's or is this just with the newer dual band ones? The one I was testing on is a dual band and is listed in ISY as 'B2457D2 BiPhy v.3A'.
  10. I am still having issues setting the ramp rate on my lamplinc (haven't tested with other devices). A downgrade to 3.1.0 fixed the issues. I tried to re-upgrade to 3.1.1 to see if it was a fluke, but once again changing the ramp rate is not taking. I did test changing the on level, and those settings worked fine for me. Can anyone else confirm this?
  11. Hello guys, Thanks for the ideas. I like both those thoughts and will probably use Sub-Routine's sub routine coupled with oberkc's idea for the motion sensor light sensor. Thanks!
  12. Thanks for the tip andyf0. I tried backing it down to 21.5 second ramp rate, but still no changes to the actual ramp rate both locally and through the browser. I will try to reset the module when I get home and see if it'll respond then. Thanks!
  13. Bump. I was trying to do a program based on DST as well. Here's my scenario: During the winter months sunset means it is dark. I want to activate a scene so my house is lit when I get home. During DST when I get home it is light and I don't need those lights activated. Any way to do the following? If days are M-F and time is > 6:30pm and not day light savings time Then turn on living room scene for 1 hour Basically trying to mimic the ELK programming option of 'Is Dark outside'. Thanks!
  14. I haven't messed around with my ISY programming for a while so I can't confirm if my issue started with this 3.1.1 beta or not. I couldn't set the ramp rate on my lamplinc, I have not tested other types of switches. I set the rate to 9 minutes for testing purposes, it shows 9 minutes on logout/re-login, but when I turn the device on it is instant. This was both through the browser and locally. Thanks.
  15. After thinking about it I'll just make a 'Restart Computer' program as follows (For emergencies only 1. Turn off outletlinc where computer is connected to 2.)Wait 10 seconds. 3.) Turn on outletlinc 4.) Wait 10 seconds 5.) Send WOL packet And viola! Remote restart on a locked-up computer via ISY!
  16. I was wondering if anyone has tried restarting a computer via ISY, or if it is even possible. Sometimes my remote computer locks up and it would be nice to be able to reboot it remotely.
