Backup of 5.0.16B fails. I used an old ISY for a new installation. Factory reset the ISY and PLM, added new ISY devices, imported some net rules and imported some programs. I get the following error and the backup quits. ISY Backup Error.pdf

That worked, thanks so much

I am having the same problem. I have an ISY 994i with an Insteon thermostat. I was using the Amazon echo to control it and it worked fine. It reported the thermostat setting in Fahrenheit and settings were made in Fahrenheit. I recently switched to google home. Same ISY Portal, same settings. The thermostat with Google Home now reports in Celsius and settings have to be made in Celsius. I have tried everything but cannot get the thermostat to work in Fahrenheit..

I am trying to link my Danalock (original lock version) with Z-wave. This is my first Z-wave connection but I get "Error - An error happened when trying to include Z-Wave" from the Danalock app. Has anybody been able to add a Danalock to the ISY994 Z-Wave ?

Also keep in mind that before A, B, C, D, and E worked on my House #1 F, G, and H did not work. After I reset the KPL and added the scenes in reverse order A and B do not work but all others work. I got "Request Failed" when trying to program the F, G, and H scenes. For Office, All work except H. A and B work fine and exactly as they should. Push A, load turns on, B button light turns off, A button light turns on Push B, load turns off, A button light turns off, B button light turns on This is exactly how the House #1 worked prior to the factory reset and adding the scenes in reverse order.

House #1 is a 2486D v.36 uuid Insteon_UD99 v3.3.1 Office is a 2486D v.40 I got different errors from the Office KPL (which I just received from Smarthome 3 weeks ago). I will try the exercise in the morning at the office to see what I get. The office system is a lot smaller My House #1 is a Pro, the Office not a Pro.

Both KPLs were added new, not replacing a previous KPL. I am able to work on one of the KPLs tonight, if need be I can work on the other tomorrow. House #1 --------- PLM links 398 F, G, and H cannot be done correctly/. I removed the KPL, factory reset and then Queried. I then added starting with the last button first H, then G, E, F, C, and D all added correctly. A and B are issues B (turn off) Button A Off, Load Off When I select A Off I get the message "Keypad Linc local sub-buttons cannot turn off the load! You may want to choose a very low level instead" A (turn on) Button B Off, Load On When I select B off I get the message "Mail Server Failure [server not responding}" C, D, E, F, G, and H all work correctly A and B turn the loads off correctly, the button lights do not respond correctly.

I am trying to create a series of scenes for my KPL 8 2486D v40. A button would turn some switches on, B would turn the same group off C button would turn some other switches on, D would turn the same group off E button would turn some yet other switches on, F would turn the same group off G button would turn some different switches on, H would turn the same group off I set all of the buttons to Toggle(On) Mode I then create 8 scenes with A-H a controller for each of the scenes and then I adjust the levels and turn the opposite button off. I get through 7 of the scenes and all works fine but on the 8th when I try to turn the G button off (in the scene) I get "Request Failed". It shows the button off but when I goto another scene and back it is set as on. When I push the button H it flashes 3 times, the lights get set correctly and G stays on. This happened on 3.2.6 and I just upgraded to 3.3.2 and it does the same thing. I have also tried this on another of my houses and F, G, and H all do the same thing. How can I fix this ?

I replaced the PLM and everything is back up and running normally. I also deleted and then added the Morninglincs and all seems to be running as it should. Thanks

Yes, I did unplug both, plugged in the PLM first then the ISY. I do have my main home system settled down. Two issues still not resolved. 1) Morninig Linc won't connect or talk to the system. I can manually push the button that locks then unlocks the door but I cannot control via the ISY and the status is not correct. How can I update these units ? 2) Motion Detectors do not all register their status. How can I update these units. When I did the PLM restore I did not go around to all of the sensors and put them in setup mode. I have sensors in the system and by the time I went to each one the first ones would time out. Even if I just did one, the PLM resotore takes so long (multiple hours) that they motion detectors quickly time out. My office ISY just informed it was in safe mode so the PLM is shot and I am getting it replaced.

Okay, I have been struggling with this for about a week. This is a very large system and I can't seem to get it to work at all. I tried to monitor the communication errors but it was making no sense. I took a PLM from another system and installed it on my home system. I did a restore PLM but the system continues to cycle in busy mode and will not stop. It continually goes from 1% to 100% on all different kinds of updates. It does this for hours and hours. I try to unplug the ISY or restart and it just starts back up. I can control the switches which is an improvement from the old PLM I installed the old PLM in my office (small system) and restored the PLM. I cannot control any of the switches at all for the office. I believe the original PLM is bad but I can't get the replacement PLM to work on my home system. Any suggestions ? Mike

About two weeks ago my home ISY just started to show many communication errors. Now when I log in to the ISY, it show system busy for about 10 minutes as it cycles through many "making adjustments". During this process I get many "cannot communicate" errors. I go through the logs and cannot find what the issue is. I have not changed the configuration much before this happened and it has been running fine for over 2 years. I have added nothing new to the house that would cause an interference. Not sure where to start looking as to what to fix.

Release 3.1.15 (Beta) Is Now Available
handyman300 replied to Michel Kohanim's topic in Previous Releases
Nope everything saved. I even rebooted the isy99i and tried to set the state variable from the then statement by itself again and I can't set it. I added two more state variables and created a program to set them to 1 and a second program to set them to 0. After creating the two additional variables then miraculously the 2nd state variable $Door_Open_Away_On is setting correctly but the two new ones do not. I updated my programs and they worked as they should. I then went back to make sure I could repeat the problem and now all four work correctly and I can set them. I don't know why they didn't work initially and what caused them to start working but something is amiss. I had them originally in a folder (no conditions) but I never moved them and they are still in the folder. Running 3.1.15 on this particular installation. -

I split the program and now the wait happens as it should. Thanks I still cannot get the state variable to be set to 1. I even created a separate program with the variable all by itself in the then and I run it and it will not change. -

I am trying to write a simple security program. I set an "away" button on and then if the door is opened and the "away" button is not pushed off then I get a text and some lights go on and off. For some reason the program does not run correctly. It just runs through (no wait) and the sate variable never gets set. $Away_Activated is set when the Away button is set fast on. That works fine. All of the lights get turned on, I get the text notification but the program just stops at that point, it doesn't wait 1 minute and the state variable $Door_Open_Away_On doesn't get set to 1. -
Release 3.1.9 (Beta) Is Now Available
handyman300 replied to Michel Kohanim's topic in Previous Releases
No it is different devices each time with the communication errors. I will begin to track it better but it also seems that it only occurs when I start up the admin console initially. For instance I left the admin console running all last night and I just checked and no devices are reporting errors. I will track this a little closer and report back. I am also still having trouble getting the admin console to start up correctly each time. For instance I just closed the console that I had running fine all night and restarted it and no states showed up at all. I then closed it down, restarted it again and the states are back. Also just a side note I always get the error "Socket Open Failed SSDPClient" every time I open up the admin console. It has been doing this since I started with the ISY99i over 2 years ago. It is never a problem but I don't understand why it consistently happens. -
Release 3.1.9 (Beta) Is Now Available
handyman300 replied to Michel Kohanim's topic in Previous Releases
The device I was trying to add is an 8 button device. Model 2468D v.36. When I tried adding to the ISY using "Start Linking" It gave me what I described previously and then it would just tell me that it could not communicate with the device. When I added it using "New Insteon Device" and specifying the address but not the type of device, it found it and added it correctly. This never happened with a previous release. Thanks for the tip on clearing the ! but my point is that I never used to get this problem on previous releases and now it is happening a lot more frequently. Maybe something changed on the power network but I have about 70 devices in my house at this point in time and they were all communicating fine before the current release. Mike -

I upgraded to 3.1.9 from 3.1.3 and I am having a few issues. Sometimes I get "no connection available" for different units. I can then either turn them on and off and then they return or I have to change a setting like brightness or on level and they come on line. I also had an issue when linking a new 8 button unit. I tried the usual of "start linking" and it only added 1 A B C D. Then it would say no connection available. I then tried linking using "new insteon device" with my device id and it added it fine. Last problem is that my normal way to log in does not work all of the time. In the past I have used my ip log in on Safari (I have a MacBook Pro) but now I have to use the admin console to log in in order to consistently see everything. -
That is correct. The airgap turns the light off completely. Then I wait 10 seconds and push it back in and the switch defaults to off and the light is half dim. If I then push it for 3 seconds and let go then the light goes on - full bright. When I then push the off button it is back to half bright. The ISY-99i shows the on and off correctly but always shows the brightness at 100%.
-
Nope just one switch connected to it. The load is an overhead light with 3 60 watt normal incandescent bulbs. I will go on the premise that it is defective. It is just strange that it did the same thing earlier then corrected itself and now with the power outage it is back doing it again. I will return it as it is under warranty.
-
I have a 2486D that when I push the off button it goes to half brighness and does not turn off. The ISY-99i shows it off with 100% brightness. I have tried resetting it back to the factory default and it still does it. This happened once before after I restored power and then magically it fixed itself. Now I had another power outage and it back doing it again. How can I fix this ? I am also running v 2.8.4 and the Keypad is V.36

I have version 2.8.4 When I create an if statement for either: Status is on Control is switched on or really anything other than time then the folder is never enabled. When I put the same statement in a program everything works fine. I have tried it several ways but what started it out was I wanted to turn my outside lights off when it was light out. Originally I had set the folder to run when it was between sunrise and sunset and everything worked fine. But when it is dark during a storm during the day I cannot turn on my outside lights. So I set up the folder to run if Sensor Dusk is On. The folder was never set to run. I then tried other conditions and never of them worked. What I am doing wrong ?

I followed your instructions (a few issues that I detail below) and I now have control. Thank you for your help. The few issues are the factory reset did not work as detailed in the manual. The manual said to hold the set bottom on while plugging it in and the light would turn on it would remain lit and then it would flash and then go solid. What happened was that I held the set button down while plugging it in and the light remained off. I then released the button. I then pushed the button holding it down until it flashed several times and then went solid. One other question I have: The ISY 99i creates two entries, xxxx-On and xxx-Off. I cannot tell any difference between them. Both lock and unlock the same way. They seem redundant to each other. Is there any difference between the two ? Mike

I have the new MorningLinc and I have connected it to the lock. Pressing the button unlocks and locks the deadbolt. I have v2.8.4 installed on myISY and I have linked the MorningLinc to my ISY. It shows up as xxx-On and xxx-Off. When I select the on or off it shows unlocked or locked but the deadbolt never moves. I have tried to link it a couple of times and the ISY never communicates with the MorningLinc. Help
