Michel, I won't rule out a power outage, but I have no other signs in my house that it did occur. I guess the part that is hard to understand is this. If From Sunset To 10:00:00PM (same day) Then Set Scene 'XMas Lights' On Else Set Scene 'XMas Lights' Off If the ISY reboots at 9 minutes after midnight, shouldn't the code above run that same day? I don't understand why it would need to wait until the next day to run. As for run at start up, I don't have any of my programs set to do that. Maybe I need to be pointed to the right location to understand what that feature will do for me. Thanks for the help. Steve

Yesterday I had an issue where my Xmas light program did not run. I looked in the log file to see if I could figure out what happened. Here is what showed up in the log file. I am running 2.6.8 in my ISY. What you will see is that on the 19th the system shut down my XMas light scene. Then at 12:09 it ran into a time server issue, then who knows what happened. 2.6.11 seemed to hose my system up. I have a remotelinc that failed to work after the update. I tried to restore it. I tried removing it from the system and then putting it back in. It would put it back in the system but I couldn't manage to get it to link to the scenes I was previously using. My motion detector also stopped reporting. I didn't fool with that though. I downgraded back to 2.6.8 and restored by ISY and devices. My remotelinc was still hosed up. So I had to remove the buttons from each scene and put them back in. And they are working now. The install of 2.6.11 wend flawlessly, just that the motion sensor and the remotelinc stopped working. I didn't write it down, but I think the motion sensor reported at a V.00 unsupported device.

This is what I get when going to the devices tab. The webpage at http://192.168.168.98/devices might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. More information on this error Below is the original error message Error 320 (net::ERR_INVALID_RESPONSE): Unknown error. This is what I get when going to the scenes tab. I have seen it work when going directly to the webpage http://192.168.168.98/pgms And it did work on Google Chrome at 2.6.6.

2.6.6 worked in Google Chrome, and have not had luck in 2.6.7 with Google Chrome. Just a question about the new adjust scene level feature. If I understand it correctly, the sample program is writing parameters to the actual device. Isn't this a bad thing to keep doing? All of these devices have their info stored in EEPROM. And isn't there a write limit on the EEPROM's in these devices? I work in the energy management field, and this was an important thing to remember about particular points in our controllers. An errant program could actually wipe out an EEPROM with excessive writes. These newer EEPROM's are probably much better than the stuff we used in these older controllers, but just thought I'd check anyway.

Michel, after the upgrade I can save/update programs as well as backup the ISY with everything turned back on. -

Michel, Turned off Windows Firewall. Turned off NOD32. Tried it again and everything was OK this time. Thanks for the help. -

My home computer only uses the Windows firewall, nothing else. When you use the http://www.universal-devices.com/27 does it do anything different than when you access the system internally? Also, does it make any difference if the device has a static IP address? I can try the update from my laptop if you think that makes a difference. It is using NOD32 Smart Security. -

Michel, I did that as well. It did not help. The strange thing, I was worried that the upgrade might have hosed the ISY. So I downloaded 2.6.4 again and tried to update it. I got the same error at the same time. The last thing I tried was to clear out the temp files of Firefox. Then I cleared the Java cache. And tried it again. I even tried clearing out Java and Firefox and using IE7 instead. Still no luck. -

ISY-99 IR Pro does not updgrade. I followed you sequence, and when I get to the favicon.ico, it fails and says Upgrade Failed: Invalid Length. -
aLF, when your WLAN light goes out that means that your DSL modem/router is not seeing the Internet, or Wide Area LAN. It could also mean that its locked up. Hence the reason you can't get anything to work on your internal network. And the reason that you have to reboot your ISY. My power is supplied by Florida Flicker and Flash, better known as FP&L, and we have lots of storms here. I was having a problem with my ISY falling off of the network. The ISY would look for a DHCP server to get an address from, and after a few attempts it would give up. I believe this was changed in one of the beta releases to where it would look forever. I also wanted to see my lights from the outside world, and with my router I had to assign an IP address to the ISY so that I could forward from the outside world to it. It sounds like your routers is your culprit. It sounds like you have enough time before you get your fiber optic cable. You need to contact your ISP and get them to replace your modem/router. If you DSL goes down, that would be another time when your WLAN light would not be lit. And even under these circumstances everything on your internal network should still work.

Tracy, did you get this to work to your satisfaction? Or do you still have problems with it? If you still have problems with it, can you explain a little bit more about what switches you are using to control your drape motor. It looks like you are using the switches from a keypadlinc. Are these keypadlincs in different locations? Or, maybe a better way to ask this, are they different keypadlincs?

tcster, If you could give a little bit more info on how your drape motor works, maybe I can take what IndyMike has said and head you off in a direction that might work. If the drapes were half way open, and you were to apply power to the appliancelinc for, let's say 2 minutes. What would happen? Would they continue to open fully, then start to close? Or is there some sort of switch that stops them once they have gone the full direction one way? And once that happens, the next time power is applied they go the other way? In the industry I am in, some people use something called incremental control. It is 2 motors stacked together to open and close something. It's a cheap way to perform analog control. The control doesn't really know exactly where to device is, it just calculates it by time. It knows it takes 90 seconds to open or close what ever you are controlling. The things we use work from 0-100%. So controls calculate where a device should be, and if you tell it to go full open, or full closed, it will drive the amount of time it thinks it needs to go to open of close the device, and then it adds about 10% extra time. Depending on how you tell us these drape motors work, maybe this is something that we could use to make your situation work. You wouldn't have status, but you could program the system to control the drapes and take this into account.

One of mine reports at v.2c and the other reports as v.31. This feature does not work on either of them. I had tried the one in my master bedroom (v.31 relay keypad) last night. I just tried the one in my family room (v.2c dimming keypad) and it didn't work there either. On both keypads, when I check the brightness level the first time, it reports as 63. Smarthome literature shows 32 available levels. I try a level of 10 so that I should be well within the value capable. I do this only to the On/Off button. I see that the brightness can be set on each button. Should I try each button to the same level? I have not tried setting it locally on the switch yet.

I am running 2.6.4 in an ISY-99. I see that the keypadlinc has a setting for variable brightness. And I see that the Smarthome site has info about this as well. I have tried changing the brightness and do not see it working. Is this a feature that has yet to be implemented? Or do I have a problem with my keypad? I have only tried this on one of my keypads, and it is one that I just had to restore, so not sure what to expect out of it.
