I will as soon as a get a chance, but also interesting to note is the SwitchLink that won't link to the ISY happens to be on the same leg as the PLM. I don't have too many programs setup, but the few that I do have also happen to be on the same leg as the PLM. They run flawlessly. Why one earth would this particular SwitchLink not link being on the same leg? Especially when others on the opposite leg are found.

Yes the device to initiate a test which is SwitchLink 2477S dual band My PLM is a 2413S so it is dual band I have the PLM and 4 SwitchLink 2477S's installed (one of them is the one that isn't linking) and 2 are on each leg. None of the SwitchLink 2477's can perform the 4 tap test. I currently have a total of 12 SwitchLinks (4 dual band) and I had absolutely no issues with linking 11 of them to the ISY, and yes some are on different legs than the PLM. Unfortunately I cannot confirm if the phases are coupled, and I have no idea how. Either way, I have always been able to link devices to the ISY. I originally started this thread because I was having a problem with a scene that involved 2 SwithLinks on one leg and a KeyPad on the other. It's the first time I ever had a scene with devices from opposite legs. I suspect the phases aren't coupled so that's why I bought two more Dual Band SwitchLinks. Now one of them won't link, and the other is stuck with "resume brightness," but at least it linked.

Sorry, it's blinking green. I am partially color blind. My wife verified it's blinking green. But the console will not find the device. Everything is hooked up, neutral, and all.

I mentioned earlier that the 4 tap test does nothing whatsoever. As to the SwitchLink that won't link....what is happening is when I press and hold the Set button, it beeps and then flashes red so it's not really going into Link mode.

Sorry meant get rid of "resume brightness." Too many things going on in my head. Let's add another issue Just added another 2477D and it's the same REV 7.5, This one beeps right away when I tap it. And, here's the kicker.....the administrative console doesn't find it. So now 3 problems - 1) Can't get rid of "resume brightness" on one switch link and you have to hold the button for it to beep (Rev 7.5) 2) Installed a new SwitchLink 2477D and the administrative console can't find it. (Rev 7.5) 3) Still have no idea if the phases are merged.

It's Rev 7.5 with a production of 2114 What's also interesting is that it turns out I do in face have 2 dual band dimmers (2477D). I didn't think I did when the 4 tap test did nothing on two SwitchLinks that I thought were. I just didn't open to see the model since I assumed they weren't. But I noticed in my console that that they were. So I went back to those units and did 4 taps, but nothing happens. I hear the tone right away for each tap, just like the user manual suggests for the instructions for removing "fixed brightness," but nothing else happens. So now I have two issues. I can't seem to get rid of "fixed brightness" on the newly installed SwitchLink and I can't initiate a 4 tap test at all.

I found what you're talking about, but it still doesn't work. It says...... To set local on level to a fixed brightness level 1) Adjust SwitchLinc to desired brightness when controlled locally 2) Tap Set button SwitchLinc will beep 3) Test by turning SwitchLinc off and then back on (via the paddle) SwitchLinc will turn on to new local on-level Problem is that in Step 2, if I Tap it, I get no sound. I have to hold it for 2 seconds of so and I do get a beep, but it doesn't remove the "resume bright" feature. If I turn off the light and turn it back on it does go to the setting I had, but as soon as I go to 100% brightness and turn it off, it goes right back to 100% again. It's still resuming brightness to last used level.

I don't understand. Which user guide are you referring to? In this guide - http://www.universal-devices.com/docs/isy99_userguide.pdfIt says "To adjust settings on a device, simply click to select a device. Available settings will be displayed on the right-hand pane." This is on page 19. Shouldn't I just be able to click on the device and set the levels and that's it? That is what I thought I did in the past. For some reason it's not taking or it doesn't stay. I want it to always go to 35% when first turning on the device from the off position.

There is no scene involved. Just trying to program the light to handle it's own load. It's a controller for itself I guess.

I stand corrected. It's not working. If I restore the device, everything seems okay with a 35% dim rate and 0.5 ramp rate. Then when I make it all the way bright, it loses the original program to only turn is on at 35%. Also, when I restore the device, it stops at like 25% and that's it.

I just installed the 1st dual band SwitchLink. Totally unrelated issue, but for whatever reason, the On Level, Ramp Rate, Etc. is not working on the switch itself, only on the Administrative Console. Is that because the ISY99 doesn't support dual band?

Thanks, I am going to install 4 total (2 on each phase) and hopefully that will rectify it.

Now I am even more lost. I am trying to do the 4 tap test and nothing seems to do anything. Apparently my SwitchLink's aren't dual band? I thought they were all dual band. I tap 4 times fast at any one of them an nothing. What about Lamplink's? Aren't they dual band? So I am at a loss, and it looks like only my PLM is a dual band. I always thought that if the phases weren't bridged, the ISY wouldn't be able to see devices that are on the opposite phase that the PLM is on. It's been a while since I first set things up and I moved a lot slower than I wanted.

Only the SwitchLink1 has the load. But if I remove it, I won't be able to turn them on, so what does that do?

Disconnect the load from which one? The Switchlinc 2? Right now I have 9 dual band switchlincs and one dual band plug in outlet. I forget how to figure out the phases on my panel (it was a long time ago), but the left side of the panel starts with phase 1 and below that is phase 2 then phase 1 and so on this is that I have 1 Plugin outlet - Phase 2 6 SwitchLinks - Phase 2 3 SwitchLinks - Phase 1 The KeypadLink is Phase 2 and the Neon lights in question are on Phase 1 Do I have too many on Phase 2? My feeling was always that if the phased weren't bridged than I wouldn't be able to see all the devices in the ISY99 or would even be able to connect to anything via controller or receiver, but I guess that's not the case. I remember when I was given my first lamp module as a gift, I couldn't get it to communicate at all since the phases weren't bridged, but then I got my first 2 switchlincs and put them on opposite phases and everything was okay. I figured I was all set. I guess not.

I don't see how it can be my phases not coupled. I have a bunch of switchlinks that are dual band. Doesn't that couple the phases?

I just got the 994, but haven't installed it yet. Still on the 99, so I can't run that test just yet. As to the On levels, all are set to 100, it's non dimming anyway, but like I said everything works fine for a couple of rounds and then they lose the connection. What's weird is that they get re-connected when I turn on or off the SwitchLink with the load. I have at least 10 dual band devices on my system and everything is properly phased. I checked that with the first 2 devices that I installed.

Not sure how to answer that question. Could you further elaborate? I am not an electrician by any stretch. The house is only 12 years old and the wiring for this area was done about 10 years ago.

It's a 2486SWH6 v5.4 1036. I don't see where is says dual band on SmartHome's page - http://www.smarthome.com/keypadlinc-relay-insteon-6-button-scene-control-keypad-with-on-off-switch-white.htmlEither way, I don't have one issue with the KeyPadLink as a controller utilizing the main On/Off switch. I have the scene setup just like you have it but either the SwitchLink 2 or the KeyPadLink 2 will lose the connection at some point. They get it back when I turn on or off the main SwitchLink 1. I don't get it.

I am fully aware of this and that's not my issue. The issue lies in that the controllers are losing a connection. I am just calling it a 3 Way. I used "Load" wrong in my post because obviously SwithLink 2 doesn't have the load either. The difference is that the KeyLink does not share the same power source as two SwithLink's in the so called 3 way. My question still holds....can I do this with one scene or do I need two scenes because the three of them aren't syncing.

Okay I was wrong, it's not fixed. First off, it's not a 4 way. I have 2 SwitchLinks as part of the 3 Way and is setup wiring-wise the way is supposed to be. The third controller happens to be a KeyLink Pad that also happens to be part of another 3 way for the main On/Off switch, but I am trying to assign Key 1 to this particular switch in question. In Summary SwitchLink (1) - 3 wires to it - part of 3 way SwitchLink (2) - 2 wires to it - part of 3 way Keypad (3) - not part of 3 way whatsoever - programming Key 1 So the Keylink doesn't have the load going to it so I suspect that I actually need to create two different scenes to it......Scene 1 with both the SwitchLink (1) and SwitchLink (2) as both controllers and Scene 2 with the Keypad (3) Key 1 and the SwitchLink (2). Assuming I am correct here, do both have to be controllers in Scene 2???? Or am I completely wrong and need to do something else? Thanks again for all your help guys.

Ah, I think I figured it out. The SwitchLink I mentioned in my last reply was setup as a receiver in the scene. I changed it to a controller. Now all three are controllers in the scene, and I think everything is okay. Thanks for your help.
