  1. What do you mean......."Both devices need to be a Controller of the 3 way Scene"? The new switch is a SwitchLink On/Off 2476S V5.8 1126. Although it's new in the sense of being installed, it was bought over a year ago. Thanks, Rob
  2. I have a Switch (non dimming receiver) setup as 3 way, while the second switch is setup as the controller. I also added the receiver switch as a controller to one of another Keypad SwitchLink's keys. The main receiver switch works fine, but somehow the controllers lose the connection with it. So say the power is turned on by either one of the controllers, all of a sudden I won't be able to turn it off from either controller. If I go to the main receiver switch, it works fine and the power will go off and the controllers are now back to be connected and will work for both on and off a few times, but will again lose the connection until I turn it on or off from the main receiver switch. During the time that I lose connection, the main receiver won't be found in the interface, which is the 99i (I know it's discontinued). Once I turn on or off the main receiver switch, it comes back to the ISY as well as re-connecting with the other devices. Now incidentally, the Keypad Link is also a controller for another 3 way (no other controllers) for the main On/Off keys and never has an issue whatsoever. The main receiver switch is a new install, but could it be a dud? I am thinking not since it still works fine on it's own. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
  3. Thanks, I was able to update it. I was hoping that might resolve the outlet issue, but it didn't. What type of tester can tell you if the neutral and live are reversed? I just have a simple power tester.
  4. There has to be something up with the outlet. I just plugged in the lamplink into a powerstrip that is on a different outlet (same circuit) and it works fine. BTW, what does the reverse C mean in the Administrative Console? I attached an image.
  5. I just looked up my circuits and it just so happens the outlet in question is on the same circuit as the PLM. There are actually two rooms on the circuit and I do have a lot of stuff plugged in, but I never have an issue with tripping the breaker or anything like that. I don't get it.
  6. The type is 2456D3, I have a bunch of stuff on the same circuit since it's my main family room...home theater, etc. But I already have a Lamplink being used in that room, plus I have tried it in different outlets in the same room as well as other rooms in the house. Not sure if the PLM is on the same circuit, but the fact that the Lamplink works on other outlets in that room, shouldn't make a difference. If it is power line issues, would replacing the outlet do anything?
  7. Hey guys, I have an interesting thing. I have a lamplink that cannot be recognized by the isy99i. It has the red exclamation point in it. If I move it to other outlets it works fine, but I see kind of a backwards C on it instead of the exclamation point. The first thought would be that the phases aren't bridged, but they are since I have approximately 10 or so devices and I know it's bridged based on what I went through when I set the system up a couple of years ago. Any ideas as to what it could be.
  8. My notifications were working fine, but a while ago they just stopped. Sometimes this would happen because I use the general service and the monthly quota was hit, but this has been going on since March 19 to be exact so it can't be that. I saw that users lost notifications with version 3.1.17, but I don't upgrade often, and I'm still at version 2.8.14. Has everyone lost notifications and if so will an upgrade get them back? Thank you
  9. I didn't make your changes yet, but interestingly enough the notifications started back up. Very strange. I didn't reboot anything, not my router, modem, or the isy99. Thanks for you help, I will keep the info handy if it ever happens again.
  10. Thanks Michel. I don't understand that. It is only the middle of the month, and I haven't had anymore traffic than usual, but I will try this.
  11. My notifications have worked flawlessly until about 2 days ago. I haven't changed any settings, but here's what I have. Under Emails/Notifications I have my Verizon phone setup as xxxxxxxx@vtext.com and setup as regular mail. I also have a gmail account setup (also set up as regular mail since both have to be setup the same way), but I haven't been using. I did switch one of my programs to utilize that account and it still didn't work. Also for SMTP settings, I have "Use Default" set. Any ideas on what it could be?
  12. Well I guess to me this doesn't seem right. Something is either on or off. I am still a noob, but how do you differenciate things for when controlling from a computer or phone? I guess you just have to remember that if you want to control a certain light you for some you have to make sure you hit the scene and others are ok to hit the device. Maybe the way around it is to create a scene for every device? That way you never control the devices?
  13. I am totally lost. I have been searching and I just can't find an answer. I just put in a KeypadLinc (6 button) as a controller only in a 3 way set up (no load). I am trying to link it to the other switch of the 3 way which I am fine with. It turns on and off no problem from the KeypadLinc. The problem lies when I turn off the lights on or off from my computer or from the actual switch with the load. The KeypadLinc does not update. Basically I have set up a scene in the ISY and made both the KeypadLinc On/Off as the controller and the switch with the load as the controller so they are both controller and responder. It does not work. I have also tried the scene with setting up the KeypadLinc as the controller and the switch with the load as the responder and that does not work. What am I missing? EDIT: It is only an issue when I use my computer (or phone). When I turn off or on the switch with the load it DOES update the Keypadlinc. So it is only an issue if I were to use my computer or phone. I guess the only way around it is to always use the scene to turn on or off? Is there a way for it to work by controlling the device from my computer or phone (or another ControlLinc)? Thanks for any help.
  14. That must be the problem then although it does send and ON command when it is indeed ON. It is just when I query that causes the problem. I set it for Trigger Reverse because of the directions in the following link.... http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... e_Door_Kit I want to eventually set up keypadLincs so that is why I set it up as such. I do not have any as of yet though. So then in order to do what the link above is saying, if you ever have to query you will always get a false read?
  15. My bad on my previous posts. I was mixed up and actually I am getting a bad read at the 3:00am Query. I changed my table below... Thursday night - 9:50pm - Open door - Receive Notification OFF Thursday night - 10:00pm - Close door - Receive Notification ON Friday morning - 3:00am - QUERY ALL - Receive Notification OFF (WRONG) Friday morning - 7:00am - Open door - DO NOT Receive Notification for OFF Friday morning - 7:30am - Close door - Receive Notification ON Friday morning - 9:30am - Open door - Receive Notification OFF So I am indeed get wrong status updates upon query like you said, but this is a new unit. How can this be fixed? Thanks
  16. I just got it like 2 or 3 weeks ago. This is not an old version. To me this has nothing to do with that. The sensor is reporting properly and NOT reporting the status of the relay. The status gets reported correctly, I just do not get the notification in that one example above, but the status does indeed change to OFF. Rob
  17. Yes it is the I/O Link from smarthome... http://www.smarthome.com/74551/I-O-Linc ... Kit/p.aspx I am getting notifications with no issues. It is just when the "query all" happens once a day it interferes with it. Let me give you a real life example. Thursday night - 9:50pm - Open door - Receive Notification OFF Thursday night - 10:00pm - Close door - Receive Notification ON Friday morning - 3:00am - QUERY ALL - Receive Notification ON Friday morning - 7:00am - Open door - DO NOT Receive Notification for OFF Friday morning - 7:30am - Close door - Receive Notification ON Friday morning - 9:30am - Open door - Receive Notification OFF Friday morning - 9:45am - Close door - Receive Notification ON As you can see I am getting notifications all the time, except for the very first occurrence after the QUERY ALL. It is not a huge deal, but I guess it could lead to other issues that I am not sure about with other things so was just wondering why this would happen and/or if there is something I can change. Thanks
  18. Bringing up an old topic. I have just the beginning setup of my network with only a few devices so far. One of them happens to be the garage sensor. I have text notifications set up to send to me when it goes to ON or OFF. At 3:00am when it does my "query all" I get a text message saying it is ON (closed). That seems fine because it is actually ON (closed), but when I open the door for the first time after this I do not get a notification, but I do again when it goes back to ON. Then any subsequent OFF and ON's I get the notifications for both. It is no big deal, but was wondering what in the "query all" is causing that?
  19. Thanks I will take a look at that.
  20. OK, I have another question. When programming a notification for "content" there is only a choice for "default." Is there supposed to be something else you can add to your notifications as far as content goes?
  21. Thank you so much. I now figured out how to do the group thing. I then noticed it in the wiki. I don't know how I missed it in the wiki before. Actually I changed it back to default and that seems to work.
  22. I have been searching all over for help on how to set up email or texting and I cannot find anything. Right now I am attempting to set up email. I have unchecked "use default" I have SMTP server: smtp.gmail.com SMTP Port: 587 User ID: xxxx@gmail.com (my email) password: my password From: No idea what to put here Timeout (ms) 1,000 and TLS is checked Below there is an area called Groups which is completely blank. There was something there I think called migrate, but it is no longer there. Am I supposed to do something with this area? When I hit TEST I get "Mail Server Failure" "To Timed Out" Also how in the hell do you set up texting?? Other relevant info is that I was never able to set up "Enable Internet Access" so I did it manually. I set up my IP address with a permanent reservation, I have my IP port forwarded to 443 and I am able to access my isy from the outside. Thanks for any help. I apologize, but I searched this forum and the wiki and I just can't find anything to help and I am fairly new to ISY99.
