  1. Thanks Michel, sent the author a note. Will see. Gerry
  2. I have installed the Holidays node server authored by "FirstOne". I have installed it with the defaults and as noted in the install notes, I should get a set of default Holidays. Instead I get a set of days of the week. Any insight would be appreciated. Also, how can I contact the author, it's not clear on the install instructions.
  3. I have a Dimmer Micro Module that has an unreadable device address label. The module has not been added to the ISY. Is there a technique to query the address of a uninstalled device?
  4. I have a 40kw Generac that is 16 years old and have no problems. The generator exercises once a week and during the exercising the whole house is transferred to the Generac. We can't tell if we're on the utility or the generator, except for the noise the generator makes. This gives peace of mind that it will work during an outage. All Insteon devices (276 addresses) including heat pumps, pool heat pump, water heaters, stove and pool motors all work great and no lights flicker. The Generac is serviced twice a year on a maintenance contract and they do load testing and frequency checks.
  5. I have set a button on a 6 button KPL to run the following program. The result is the ability to turn off all devices at bed time and restore the the ones required at night i.e. water heaters, up lights, pool motors, seasonal lighting etc. Works great. Gerry Master BR D ALL OFF - If Control 'Rear BR (up) / Rear UP BR / Rear UP BR - D' is switched On Or Control 'Rear BR (up) / Rear UP BR / Rear UP BR - D' is not switched Off Then Run Program 'ALL-OFF + Restore' (Then Path) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') ALL-OFF + Restore - If - No Conditions - (To add one, press 'Schedule' or 'Condition') Then Set Scene 'My Lighting' Off Wait 5 seconds Set Scene 'Rear BR (up) / Rear BR- D ALL-OFF' On Set Scene 'TOU / Electric Water Heaters' On Set 'Bathroom (Up) / Up Front Bath Lamp' 25% Set 'Bathroom (Dn) / Dn Bath Lamp' 25% Set 'Bathroom (Dn) / Dn Bath Sensy' Off $Stop_Blinking_at_night = 1 Set 'Outside / Seasonal Lighting / Right Walk Outlet' On Set 'Den / Den TV Lamps' On Set 'Master Bath / M Bath Rm #2' 25% Wait 1 second Set Scene 'Outside / Front and Den Porch / Porch Dome Lights' On Set Scene 'Outside / Front and Den Porch / Front Porch Dome Light' On Run Program 'Candles ON after lights out' (If) Set 'Master BR / MBR Table Lamp' 30% Set 'Crawl Space / Humidfier in crawl space' On Set Scene 'Outside / Front up lighting / Front up lights' On Wait 5 seconds Run Program 'Reset Pool Error' (Then Path) Wait 5 seconds Run Program 'Pool Start-Stop Summer' (If) Wait 1 minute Run Program 'Pool Heater Relay Var' (If) Set Scene 'Rear BR (up) / Rear BR- D ALL-OFF' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')
  6. I have a Generac Guardian 40KW installed in 2001. At that time I was running all X10. In 2011, I converted to all Insteon (over 200 Insteon address). I can confirm that the Insteon devices work very well while running on Generac power. The only problem I have is that, intermittently, the PLM will lockup on transferring power from utility to Generac. The PLM is v92 which is back level (current is 9E) I use the v92 because it has proven to be less susceptible to the ALL-ON problem.
  7. I have both issues with my Mac/Yosemite. A solution would be very helpful. Gerry
  8. I have the exact same problem. I had a PLM die that had been installed for over three years and had worked fine. I changed the PLM and immediately had the ALL ON problem, I switched that one for a new one and it has the same problem, both new PLM's are v9B. I'm on my third PLM in 90 days. I have about one random ALL ON event a week, the problem is getting very serious. I have requested a back level PLM from SmartHome but they have not responded. I would like to see SmartHome acknowledge the problem with a statement that they will fix the v9B firmware and offer a back level option as a work around. Gerry
  9. Michel I cannot find any changes to the Electricity Module showing the GEM support. What changes should I be looking for? Thanks Gerry
  10. I also upgraded to 3.3.1 without issues on a 994iZ/IR Pro.

    Generators

Hello all, I would like to share my experience with a backup generator and home automation. I have a 40KW Generac backup generator installed in 2001. The installation includes two transfer switches feeding two 200A panels. The generator automatically transfers power, in an outage, after a 45sec generator warm up period. The generator is programmed to exercise once a week for 20min. During the exercise period, the program hot transfers the whole house load to the generator for 5min. In addition, the generator is monitored for defaults and a warning light plus a battery meter are installed inside the house. I set it up this way because I travel a lot and I did not want my wife to have to throw switches in the middle of an outage. I have an ISY/994i IR PRO and 147 Insteon devices installed. During the hot transfers to the generator the ISY/994i works without problems. We have also experienced some extended power outages and the ISY/994i has worked while on generator power, without a hitch. In my case, the ISY/Insteon/PLM and backup generator live well together. Gerry
  12. bigdog, Here is my solution for automating my pool: I installed a 12"X12"X6" weatherproof box next to the electrical subpanel in the pool equipment room. Then I wired a 240v Dayton 1EJG7 DPDT, 120VAC coil, relay in both the pool pump and pool sweep motors circuits (between the motors and the circuit breakers). I control the relays with Insteon Icon appliance modules. In addition, I added a pressure switch and an IOLinc to sense if and when I lose pool pressure, I can turn off the motors and turn on an error light in the house. I also have Insteon modules, in the same box, to control the pool light, equipment room light and all the deck lighting. Hope this is of value.
  13. Thanks Lee, I appreciate the info. Gerry
  14. I would like to be able to program control the On/Off state of a Keypadlink or Controllink button without manual intervention. Unless I have missed something (quite possible) I can't find a way to set a button On or Off in the Then or Else. Is there a reason why this capability is not available in the ISY? Is there an alternative solution?
