Thanks All for the assistance! I may replace the PLM to see if reliability improves!

I recreated the failing scene and changed the Icon relay switch to act as a responder instead of a controller and the scene succeeds. I did the restore modem PLM. I need all devices to act as a controller. Why would the scene fail with all 3 devices as controllers? Plm info: 1E.47.21 v98/ connected. Tested several other scenes and all succeed. Will try restore modem and retest. I have another question. When doing a restore PLM how do i keep all my battery devices in programming mode? Can i just write changes manually after the PLM restore?

Here is the event viewer with the scene activated on and off several times. How does the Diagnostic scene test differ from just viewing the event viewer level 3? The diagnostic test shows failures? I have a scene that is not reliable. Sometimes KPL lights will remain on when lights are off. Here is the event viewer for the scene. I am not up on reading the event viewer so maybe someone can help me out as to why this scene fails the scent test? Maybe poor comms?? Thanks! Just a update on my garage door status issues! The IO linc has completely failed as of yesterday. Every IO linc i have owned in the last 5 years has failed in one way or another!
-
Thanks! I will check those out! Like the idea of magnetic sensors at both ends of door travel. (with a reliable device of course)

For the last few months my garage door status has been updating intermittently. Sometimes the status LED on my keypads are OFF but to my surprise the garage door is still open. I think I am just seeing another IOlinc failure. I believe every single IOlinc that I have used in the last 8 to 10 years has failed. The failure starts out slow with the sensor input not sending its status reliably and eventually total failure of the module. Relay control seems to work fine and never had comm issues in my garage area. We really need another solution for getting IO conditions into the ISY reliably other than the 2450. Hate the tiny terminals with a passion! I am thinking about putting a arduino and a PLM to use and designing my own IO insteon device with multiple inputs and outputs! Here are the programs i use for garage door control. Garage door Status - [iD 0013][Parent 0006] If Status 'Garage Door Sensor' is Off Then Set Scene 'Garage Door Status' On Else Set Scene 'Garage Door Status' Off Garage Door Control - [iD 0014][Parent 0006] If Control 'Hall Keypad G' is switched On Or Control 'Master Keypad Window - G' is switched On Then Set 'Garage Door Relay' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

Thanks for all the help! I staggered the sunset trigger and corrected the "repeat" incorrect usage and everything is working great!
-
Yes I run the "then" from my andriod device or from the admin console. So the reliability issue is with the sunset trigger? Like i said this usually happens a couple days a week.
-
Thanks for the heads up on the repeat command I will move it up in the program to maybe improve reliability.
-
No big deal if I cant figure this out. Just seems strange that when the program is triggered by Mobilinc all devices respond to commands. It could be some weird comm issue with some of the older devices but not sure.
-
It seems like the recessed lights fail more than the others. There are 3 devices with recessed cans with LED bulbs "Fireplace recessed" device 1 controlling 2 cans and the scene "family recessed" 2 devices each controlling 6 cans. all Switchlinc dimmers (May be the older switchlincs without dual band)
-
I do have another program that triggers at sunset and it turns on a scene.
-
Heres the program. I put in the delays to troubleshoot this issue. Evening Lighting ON - [iD 001E][Parent 0006] If Time is Sunset Then Set 'Kitchen Table Light' 100% Set 'Kitchen Under Cabinet Lights' 100% Set 'Kitchen Rope Lights' 50% Set 'Fireplace Recessed' 45% Set 'Kitchen Track Lights' 100% Set 'Family Room Table Lamp' On Wait 2 seconds Set Scene 'Family Recessed' On Wait 2 seconds Set 'Living Room Switched Outlets' On Wait 2 seconds Set 'Living Room Floor Lamp' 50% Repeat 2 times Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') I may try creating a scene for all these devices to see if things are more stable! I have a few incandescent bulbs too.
-
The devices are turned on one after the other a couple of scenes are in the program. Like i said the program works fine when triggering the "then " from my mobile device "Mobilinc" or from the admin console on a PC.device. The problem lies when the program is triggered by the isy itself! I am using mostly LED bulbs.
-
I have a strange problem and wondered if anyone else noticed this? I have a program that turns several lights on at sunset each day. When the program is initiated by the isy a few lights fail to turn on. This failure occurs about 50% of the time and is not always the same devices, seems to be random. The strange thing is that when I run the "then" command from my Andriod device running mobilinc all the devices turn on, even the ones that failed when the isy triggers the program. I have good comm through my entire house and never have any comm issue. What might cause this inconsistency? Should not make a difference what triggers the program! ISY994i v4.3.26

I wish to create a program that will disable all 3 of my keypadlincs when kids visit my home. We all know kids love to press the buttons and really do not want them closing the garage door unexpectedly. I know there are ways to disable devices but what is the easiest way without causing problems in the system? Pulling the air gap is not very effective as the kids end up pressing it right back in. ISY 99i v3.3.10

Just one more question! Should the ISY link table "always" match the device link table? I notice mismatches in some of my devices. Resetting the device does not always cure the mismatch! I am guessing that at one time the device was linked without the ISY knowing about the link. Just would like some clarification on this mystery!

I added the non responding devices to the scene and restored them all is working. One of the devices has the old PLM address in the viewer and I cant seem to get rid of it by re adding and restoring the device. Here is the table 0 : 0FF8 : A2 00 1E.47.21 FF 1F 00 1 : 0FF0 : A2 05 0C.4A.9A 00 1F 00 (old PLM) 2 : 0FE8 : A2 06 0C.4A.9A FF 1F 00 (old PLM) 3 : 0FE0 : A2 14 1E.47.21 FF 1F 01 4 : 0FD8 : A2 26 1E.47.21 00 1F 00 5 : 0FD0 : A2 27 1E.47.21 FF 1F 00 6 : 0FC8 : 00 00 00.00.00 00 00 00 How do I remove the old PLM links? Compare is identical. Does it matter if the old PLM links are there? Thanks for all the help!
-
When I do a device links table on the non responding devices there is only one line in the viewer 0 : 0FF8 : 00 00 1E.47.21 00 00 00 When I do the same for a responding device I see 3 lines in the viewer 0 : 0FF8 : A2 00 1E.47.21 FF 1F 00 1 : 0FF0 : A2 14 1E.47.21 FF 1F 01 2 : 0FE8 : 00 00 00.00.00 00 00 00

After Hurricane Sandy knocked out our power for a few days my 3+ year old 2412S PLM died. I purchased a new 2413S PLM V1.7 and used the (How to Replace a PLM) thread in the forum. The restore process worked without a glitch. But now my scenes are not working properly. I have a scene with 6 devices (icon lamplincs) if i trigger the scene on all devices show status on, if i query the scene only 4 devices show status on. I have no communication problems in my entire insteon network, all devices query just fine. My system worked flawlessly before this PLM changeout. What could be causing this issue? ISY99ir V3.3.3

Gray arrows are gone! Will see how things go and let you know. Could this RL issue cause missed timer events if the RL with gray arrows is included in the scene? Thanks
-
Yes each button status changes when pressed and controls scenes and devices just fine. One odd thing happens after a button press on the RL the activity light on the RL will flash for about 3 seconds then go off. This seemed to happen about the same time as the error in the admin console. Should I remove the RL and link it again? I also tried restoring the RL and I get the "cannot communicate"error then I have red exclamation marks on all RL buttons in the admin console. What does the gray arrow mean in the device tree? I have them next to all RL buttons.
