Following a power outage, Alexa no longer can control my lights because it detects multiple devices with the same name. I have used the Alexa for several years. I have made no changes to the device list and have operated without issues. I used MobiLinc Connect/ISY I have taken the following steps; Unplugged modem, unplugged ISY, unplugged Alexa, unplugged WiFi, removed and reloaded the app, disabled/enabled skill, removed all devices and rediscovered all devices (via desktop, via app, and rediscovered via Alexa). All of the devices are discovered and listed by Alexa on the app and alexa.amazon.com. There is no duplication of device names. Some examples of device names that contain common elements are Family room ceiling Family room table lamp Kitchen Kitchen table Again, these are not new device names. They have been in my list for several years and worked without any issues. Alexa responds to all other command functions such as time, weather, questions, etc. Any additional suggestions?

During a recent remodel, the contractor tossed one of my Insteon Leak Detectors. It was a recent version with the heartbeat/on/off nodes. I want to delete the detector from my list, however, the ISY requests that I activate the sensor in order to delete it from my list. I am operating from the ISY Admin Console with the current ISY software. How can I work around the need to activate the sensor since I no longer have it available?

I have a scene titled Auto DR. It may be an artifact of some mistake that I made years ago, however, I have no idea of why it is on my ISY network list. The scene contains no devices. I have attempted to delete the scene and I get a simple error message which states "request failed". Is this scene mean anything and if not, how can I delete it?

The lights are dimmable. I have them installed in other rooms with the same 8 button keypad without any issues. The buzz comes from the dimmer itself. I would guess that it is the electronics.

I have an Insteon 8 button keypad connected to 4 Cree LED Retrofit downlights. My keypad has a audible buzz/noise. The sound level will somewhat diminish as I lower the light from 100% to 50%. Is there anything that I can do to eliminate or significantly reduce the sound at the higher light levels?

Has anyone used Geofency with the ISY Portal? Is it worth the $2.99?

I want to use the Locative app for geo fencing but have had problems making it operate. It appears that "help" in Locative is only available via Twitter or Facebook, neither of which I use. I am wondering if anyone can possibly help me get it operational. I have followed the instructions on the wiki to establish the keys. In the Locative app I copied the trigger keys into the proper arrival and departure "post" entry points. Both the triggers were turned on. I turned on HTTP Basic Authentication and added by username and password. For my global HTTP Setting I entered URL https;//www.my.isy.io Set it as a Post, turned on Http Basic Authentication and added my username and password. As I depart and reenter the geo fence I receive the following message; POST Failure: No readable response received. I also receive the same failure notice when I run a test request from the setting page. Any help is appreciated.

Would a FilterLinc 1626-10 help with #1 as described by Brian H?

I am trying to resolve a couple issues with an under cabinet led strip. First, I had the strip (a dimmable type) plugged into an OutletLinc Dimmer - INSTEON 2472D. In the off mode, the strip would pulse on/off. I could turn it on with no problems. I then changed to an INSTEON Outletlinc 2473S On/Off Outlet. The llights will flicker, almost like a lightning flash when in the off position. The led strip is 6' long. Finally, last night I plugged the led into the lower, non-controlled outlet on the 2473S. I don't know if it is a coincidence but I lost communications with a number of devices on both phases in my house. I had to manually reset one of the 2477 dimmers in order to get it to respond to the ISY. Questions: 1. Any idea what is the cause of the problems with the 2472D or 2473S? 2. Is it likely that the problems with the devices last night was caused by noise from the led?

I changed out the 2476 dimmer for a new 2477 and all is well Thanks to everyone for your help.

I am taping the Mobilinc paddle. I have also tried the scene icon and still do not obtain consistent actions. One of the dimmers is powering the lights. This dimmer has been installed for 7 yrs. I added a second dimmer last week to enable light control from across the room. It is the new dimmer that is problematic.
-
I have the 2 dimmers set up in a scene. I get the same results when I used the scene button on MobiLinc Pro to turn on/off the scene. The LED on both dimmers will move up/down each time I activate the scene button. The access point will "flash" for each signal. The room light will not always respond on/off. The response is erratic.

I have had a 2476D v.37 controlling room lighting. No issues for the past 3-4 years. - Call this Dimmer #1 Today, I added a 2477D v.44 dimmer to provide a secondary position in the room to control lighting. -- Call this Dimmer #2 When I remotely (via iPhone/MobLinc Pro) turn on Dimmer #1, the LED bar moves upward on both dimmers and the light will turn on/off. When I remotely (via iPhone/MobLinc Pro) turn on Dimmer #2, the LED bar move upward on both dimmers and the lilght will turn on. When I attempt to turn off via Dimmer #2, the LED on both dimmers will slide downward but the light remains on. When I operate either dimmer directly via the paddle switch, the operate without fail. I placed an extra access point near dimmer #2 to determine if I could improve communications. I see the LED on the access point flash for all of the combinations noted above, however, dimmer #2 will still fail to turn off the light. Again, the LED on the dimmer switch will respond properly to on/off commands, but the light will not turn off. Any suggestions?

I went to File|Enable Internet Access and got a Failure message. I do not see a File|Disable Internet Access choice. My router is a Cisco Linksys EA 4500. It is setup at UPnP enabled. Attached is a screen shot of my admin console so you can see the current settings. Unfortunately, I posted my original message twice, once here and again in another forum. In the other forum I was advised to set the ISY IP outside the router's range which I have now completed. My screen admin console attachment shows the old IP address which was inside the router range of xxx.xxx.x.1-.149. My new setting is xx.xxx.x.150

ISY 994I, 4.2.18 Mobilinc Pro 4.1.10 iPhone 5 Whenever my internet connection goes down and restarts, I regain my wifi connection but cannot communicate to the ISY via Mobilinc Connect. In order to regain connection I have to manually unplug the router and ISY. Any suggestions on how to resolve the issue so that I regain Moblinc communications after a resumption of internet service?
-
I have not represented the facts about the ISY power correctly. The ISY is getting power via the wall plug and the power adapter which comes with the 994i. I was under the impression that I could not use the UPS backup as a power source for the ISY. Is this correct?
-
I have reviewed my settings and find that I am on a static IP address (automatic box NOT checked). Any other ideas are certainly welcome.
-
I appreciate the precautions that you have taken for surge protection. What I don't understand is how these measures resolve the restart connection issue once power is restored. Thx

I have a 994i Pro and using MobiLinc Connect for remote access. Whenever a power outage occurs I lose remote access to the ISY. Remote access can only be restored by unplugging/plugging both the router and the ISY. The internet company modem has a battery backup built-in. I have the router also on a UPS/battery backup. The ISY is getting power via the PLM which is plugged directly into the wall outlet. Any suggestions on how to set up the ISY so that it properly connects remotely after a power outage?

I had a situation where I had the Motion Sensor set to send a text if the Status turned on. The motion sensor "stuck" in the On position for hours before it finally counted down. I got text, after text, after text until I finally disabled the program.
-
I have questions about using Control vs Status in the following applications; 1. Motion Sensor which is to send a text notification should it turn on. 2. TriggerLinc which is to send a text notification when it turns on.
-
All of this makes a lot of sense and helps me in a huge way. First off, I was assuming that with a power interruption (and ISY status) I also had a loss of notification should the sensor detect water after the power resumed. Understanding how the sensor will send a signal if water is detected without having a status on the ISY is a HUGE peace of mind when I am on vacation and can't reset the sensors. Second, changing my programs to Control vs. Status also releases me from the pain of tapping each of my sensors 2X to get the status on the Dry node at the state I desire. I have 7 sensors including 1 in the attic. It was a pain to get a ladder and climb into the attic to reset the sensor. With the change to "Control" I no longer have to bother to make the rounds tapping the sensor set button. Of course, I should check the battery operation periodically, perhaps every 6 mo. to make certain that the sensors are operational but that is minor compared to what I was doing. Thanks to the knowledge pool on this forum who helped me. You folks are hand down, the best support group I have ever experienced.

Thank you very much for your help. I had my programs written to trigger lights on/off and a text notification should the Status Water Sensor Wet is On. You mentioned to use the If Condition. What is the difference between using two If statements such as "If Status of Water Sensor Wet is On Or Status of Water Sensor Dry is On Then.... Versus "If Condition of Water Sensor Wet is On Or Condition of Water Sensor Dry is On Then....

Some answers to the 3 posts above. 1. I have confirmed the status change through the admin console. Also see the same status via MobiLinc. The method of verifying the operation has been to manually activate the set button. 2. I have run your suggested test on the event viewer. I see the wet and dry messages but NEVER see a Heartbeat message. 3. I am on firmware 3.3.10. ISY 99i Pro As I understand, I can't install 4.0.X. 4. I have 2 nodes for the leak sensor, wet and dry.

I have 6 of the water leak sensors and they all react the same. Once I lose power they never show their status until I manually push the test button. This is in spite of waiting days before I can activate the sensors manually. Once I perform the manual activation, the sensors report their status with 100% accuracy. How do I test for the "heartbeat"? And should the "heartbeat" result in a status reporting?
