  1. Question regarding programming. I used to know this, but my memory has failed me. Will a 'Then' segment terminate if a line in the 'Then' segment does that causes the program to no longer be true? Or will the 'Then' segment complete regardless of the Trueness of the program?
  2. Another update for those using this custom skill to get updates about their ISY devices. Amazon has now blocked the invocation name "me" from use by custom skills. So, I can no longer say "Alexa, tell me......" to get a response. Alternative is to use some other made up word, such as "Bob". Amazon requests we use 2 words for invocation name, but it appears one word still will work (for now). So now I have to say: "Alexa, ask Bob pool status" to get my response on how my pool is doing.
  3. pjjameso, I have been having similar issues with Aeotec Gen 5 plug switches that I use for extenders. But due to my travels, I had to go back to the older z-wave board in my ISY so I was not able to determine fully what was going on. One thing I meant to do, but did not, was to exclude the devices and then re-include them using SECURE mode. This is a special way to include these devices that sends security info and allows them to better deal with locks, etc. Here is a clip from the instructions on how to do this with Smart Switch 6: Remove Smart Switch from an existing z‐wave network: 1. Insert the Smart Switch to power socket, The Smart Switch LED will follow the status (on/off) of its load’ power level. 2. Let the primary controller of existing Z‐Wave network into remove mode (If you don’t know how to do this, refer to its manual). 3. Press the Action button. 4. If the remove success, Smart Switch LED will blink slowly. If Smart Switch LED still follows that of load status, please repeat the process from step 2. Send Security Node Info frame. For the ISY, under Z-wave | Z-wave Secure Devices, select "Allow secure devices to be added" Add Smart Switch into an existing z‐wave network: 1. Insert the Smart Switch to power socket, The purple LED will blink slowly. 2. Let the primary controller into inclusion mode (If you don’t know how to do this, refer to its manual). 3. Press the Action Button twice. 4. If the inclusion success, Smart Switch LED will keep turning on. Otherwise, the LED will still blink slowly, in which you need to repeat the process from step 2.
  4. Broyd, nonce is security related term for one time use of a cryptographic value. I do not see anything amiss in your event log, but others may correct me. @gviliunas, do you have any door locks in your setup?
  5. I always do this. In about half the cases, it is not needed, but does not hurt.
  6. @captainc, First, you have to exclude it from the ISY system. I know, that sounds stupid since you have not included it yet, but trust me. Do an exclude on the ISY, press the button on the device, and it will exclude. Then try including it.
  7. Scott, I too have the Intermatic MultiWave pool controller. But I was able to get Intermatic to install v39 firmware, which is fully compatible with z-wave. So I now have full control over all functions, including variable speeds, all relays, temperature settings, etc. Just FYI.
  8. @Michel Kohanim, not sure if this is meaningful, but I have noticed several of my z-wave devices have 2 identical association groups. Both are between the device and the ISY. Just wanted to mention that in case it is relevant. 9. @Scyto, All my Schlage locks required them to be right next to the ISY when they were included. This was on the old z-wave dongle. So I am not sure about the new dongle. Once included, I have always been able to use repeaters to help get the signal across the house when using the old dongle. With the new 500 Series, the repeaters do not appear to be working correctly, but I am not sure.
  10. I reinstalled my Series 500 dongle today and let it 'settle' for a while. After about 4 hours, still not connecting well to many of my z-wave devices that were working fine with old dongle. Interesting is that my Front Door Lock (Schlage BE469) has four V6 repeaters between it and the ISY, yet it sees none of them and is using a weird routing using non-v6 repeaters that are much, much further away. As a result, the front door lock works less than 10% of the time right now. The ISY can see all four of the V6 repeaters that are very close to the door, but the door will not use them in the route. See below that all the repeaters that the door sees are non-V6 devices. I have 5 V6 repeater devices in my house, and the front door sees none of them. 11. This is not a dongle issue, but rather came about when multi-channel was implemented. UDI decided to err on the side of adding nodes which are phantoms, rather than missing ones that are real. This happens big time with my multi-channel pool controller (Intermatic MultiWave) which has 10 real nodes and about 15 or 20 phantom nodess. I have created a folder to keep all these phantom nodes in. If you delete them, they will come back, so just keep them.
  12. Can you confirm that the ISY reliably updates with lock/unlock status when the door is manually locked/unlocked? I can control mine, but it only occasionally updates on the ISY when I lock it by hand.
  13. @Chris Jahn and @Michel Kohanim, ignore this statement of mine about "no neighbors" from before. I think at the time I was doing a "Show Link Details" rather than "Show Network Details" for the z-wave devices. I believe the neighbors were there. Sorry for my misdirection. But it does appear that the Gen5 devices I have in my network were not working well in terms of being repeaters. At least, that is my current working theory. I have five Gen5 devices that I use to repeat signals for coverage, and they do not seem to be working well now.
  14. This theory is supported by my experience too. When I removed my securly added Aeotec V6 plugs/repeaters, things got better overall. And I do see a lot of Nonce issues which to me looks like security. I am back to my original dongle for now, but am willing to do any testing or procedures that Michel or Chris request. I kind of enjoy this debugging stuff!
  15. This line does not mean anything from my experience. All my z-wave devices respond with this. If you think about it, it is still a true statement: it will query when awake. And the device is awake, so it queries it immediately for non-sleeping devices. But, with that said, I am having trouble communicating reliably to any secure device (door locks) and often with Gen5 switches (Aeotec V6).
  16. Michael, you put the card in the LOWER set of pins, right? There are 2 rows. You want the lower row so that the dongle is in the same plane as the main board.
  17. As for the Schlage Locks, I am noticing that I can mostly control all of them (lock and unlock, though I do still get a lot of failures), but status when I manually lock or unlock them is not reflected in the ISY. I can then query to get status, but it is rarely ever updated automatically.
  18. Now even my Schlages that are close to the ISY are failing. When I try to get status via Query, it fails: Fri 07/13/2018 07:10:29 PM : [ZWAVE-WAKEUP 9.000] Query device when awake ZW009_1 Fri 07/13/2018 07:10:29 PM : [ZWAVE-TE ] [86/13] CC=0x86 cmd=0x13 [72] ACK,AUTO,EXPLORE To=0x09 Fri 07/13/2018 07:10:29 PM : [ZWAVE-TX ZW009_1] [98/40] Security Nonce Get ACK,AUTO,EXPLORE To=0x09 Fri 07/13/2018 07:10:30 PM : [ZWAVE-RX ZW009_1] [98/80] Security Nonce Report - nonce=[D874DA8CD97DCDC5] ACK,AUTO,EXPLORE From=0x09 Fri 07/13/2018 07:10:31 PM : [ZWAVE-RX ZW009_1] [98/40] Security Nonce Get ACK,AUTO,EXPLORE From=0x09 Fri 07/13/2018 07:10:31 PM : [ZWAVE-TX ] ... 19. And yes, the biggest issue I am having is with a Schlage. The 2 Schlages I have which are closer to the ISY appear to be working a bit better, but still not well. The one that relies on Neighbors is not working. Here is event viewer when I query 46 (closer to the ISY) and 47 (further from the ISY) Fri 07/13/2018 06:07:12 PM : [ZWAVE-WAKEUP 46.000] Query device when awake ZW046_1 Fri 07/13/2018 06:07:13 PM : [ZW-TX-FAILED] enc=Fail uid=9.0 cmd=0x86.13 VERSION Fri 07/13/2018 06:07:15 PM : [ZW-TX-FAILED] enc=Ok uid=46.0 cmd=0x80.02 BATTERY Fri 07/13/2018 06:07:22 PM : [ZW-TX-FAILED] enc=Ok uid=9.0 cmd=0x86.13 VERSION Fri 07/13/2018 06:07:23 PM : [ZW-TX-FAILED] enc=Fail uid=46.0 cmd=0x80.02 BATTERY Fri 07/13/2018 06:07:24 PM : [ZW-TX-FAILED] enc=Fail uid=46.0 cmd=0x80.02 BATTERY Fri 07/13/2018 06:07:24 PM : [ZW-TX-FAILED] enc=Fail uid=46.0 cmd=0x62.02 DOOR_LOCK Fri 07/13/2018 06:07:25 PM : [ZW-TX-FAILED] enc=Fail uid=46.0 cmd=0x62.02 DOOR_LOCK Fri 07/13/2018 06:07:25 PM : [ZW-TX-FAILED] enc=Fail uid=46.0 cmd=0x62.02 DOOR_LOCK Fri 07/13/2018 06:07:25 PM : [ ZW046_1] ST 101 (uom=11 prec=0) Fri 07/13/2018 06:07:27 PM : [ZWAVE-WAKEUP 47.000] Query device when awake ZW047_1 Fri 07/13/2018 06:07:31 PM : [ZW-TX-FAILED] enc=Fail uid=46.0 cmd=0x71.07 NOTIFICATION Fri 07/13/2018 06:07:40 PM : [ZWAVE-MISC ] ZW046_1 : Schlage : Unrecognized 0x06FE Fri 07/13/2018 06:07:45 PM : [ZWAVE-MISC ] ZW046_1 : Schlage : Unrecognized 0x07FE Fri 07/13/2018 06:07:52 PM : [ZW-TX-FAILED] enc=Ok uid=47.0 cmd=0x71.04 NOTIFICATION Fri 07/13/2018 06:07:55 PM : [ZW-TX-FAILED] enc=Fail uid=46.0 cmd=0x71.04 NOTIFICATION Fri 07/13/2018 06:07:56 PM : [ZW-TX-FAILED] enc=Fail uid=47.0 cmd=0x71.04 NOTIFICATION Fri 07/13/2018 06:07:56 PM : [ZW-TX-FAILED] enc=Fail uid=46.0 cmd=0x71.04 NOTIFICATION Fri 07/13/2018 06:07:56 PM : [ZW-TX-FAILED] enc=Fail uid=47.0 cmd=0x71.04 NOTIFICATION Fri 07/13/2018 06:08:02 PM : [ZW-TX-FAILED] enc=Fail uid=46.0 cmd=0x71.04 NOTIFICATION
  20. Well, it appears I am still having alot of communications issues. Front Door Lock is very spotty, and other z-wave devices are not as reliable as with the other z-wave board. I will leave the new board in for a couple days to see if it improves, but there must be something wrong with my setup.
  21. OK. I did a synchronize all last time, but that was after the heal. Will let you know.... UPDATE: @Michel KohanimOK, did the synch. Did not seem to change anything except to restore some deleted z-wave devices I no longer have. But I then tried the heal again and it seemed to go a bit better. I am seeing neighbors on the devices, and communications appear to be at least as good as before. Front door lock still not reliable. But just for testing purposes, I decided to install my old z-wave board again, do another FULL backup, switch in the new board, and do a restore and then heal. And this time it appeared to work just fine, without a Synchronize ALL. And Front Door is now working fine, apparently. So either my prior backup was somehow bad, or I did something else wrong in the install process. I will continue to test and see what else I can break!
  22. @Michel Kohanim, just did another restore of z-wave without doing a heal. The neighbors are all there, but communications are very spotty right now. I am tempted to do another heal just to see...... BTW, I noticed in the Show Network details it now shows which routes most recently were used. Is that new? It is very nice to be able to see what routes actually are being taken for diagnostics of the network. Nice!
  23. Let me try that now. I currently have the old z-wave dongle in my ISY just to reconfirm all is working. Once that settles down, I will replace it again with the new dongle and do a restore without heal.
  24. Went from scratch again. Did a z-wave restore, then tried the heal again, but as you can see in the Event Viewer logs if you look closely, every attempt to send network neighbor updates fails. And every device has only one neighbor: the ISY. I am going to punt for now and go back to the original dongle just to make sure that works OK. Attached is the event log for the second attempt. ISY-Events-Log.v5.0.13__Fri 2018.07.13 03.23.25 PM.zip
  25. I rebooted the ISY twice now, and my PC as well. Have done 5 network heals. In all cases, none of my z-wave devices ends up with any neighbors except the ISY itself. The good news is that the new 500 Series dongle has AMAZING range! It is able to talk to most of the devices in my house. But without any neighbor communications, several are not able to be communicated with. I plan to do another z-wave restore and see if that helps. If not, I will re-install my old z-wave dongle and see what happens. Oh, and I did turn off Query All on startup. I tried doing another query all, but that did not help either. I have left Query All on startup turned off for now.
