  1. I didn't do that before, but i tried again with all 3 boxes checked, and downloaded the start .jlp from the link. There was still no choice or drop down menu. The first time i tried, i got as far as the login page, after a slow start, and then i get an error. I tried the whole process again, and i don't get to the login window before i get an error message. I tried a 3rd time and it didn't even find the isy that time. Frustrating after years with very little connection problems.
  2. I followed the link from above, cleared the java cache, and when i hit the link for the isy launcher, it says to select the version of isy from the menu, but there is no choice, it just downloads a version of isy launcher which doesn't work after the upgrade. Below is a screenshot after clicking on the link
  3. I downloaded the isy launcher from the link, and upgraded the isy to 4.7.3. Now the console won't load again. I tried clearing java cache, and using the link to download the launcher, but it does not find the isy.
  4. I updated to a new imac with Mojave, and moved everything over without much of an issue. I believe the Admin Console was working after the move. I haven't had a need to use the console in many months, and the isy994i still had 4.3.26 on it. I now have java version 8 update 231 on it, and now problems have arisen. I noticed one of my programs wasn't working as it should, so i made a minor change yesterday with no problem. I tried again this morning to open the console, and it won't , so i downloaded the admin.jnlp and managed to get the console to slowly open to the login. After attempting to login, the fields populate devices, with some missing, and i get a jre error. i ty to update the isy to 4.7.3 as per the notice at the top of the console to no avail. Tried to manually update, and it times out. Sometimes i can login, sometimes the isy is not found. I disabled Avast, but that didn't solve the problem. I tried again and i get 3 errors, and the login page doesn't show up. I need help. I assume it's the old version on the isy, and a new java problem. I can access everything fine from mobilinc on my phone or ipad. Thanks Brad
  5. I ended up getting 3 - 2' and 1 - 18" Led fixtures with off-50%-100% switches. They are 100% brighter than the 14' of led strip i had before and the colour is actually 3000K and not the yellow of the strip lights. They were supposed to be 3000k but were no where near that. That old adage , you get what you pay for, holds true in this case. Lesson learned at minimum cost. We are much happier with these. They work fine with insteon so far, although i've only tried them with the keypad switch.
  6. Ive decided to remove these cheap offshore led strip lights and buy some "24 led light bars with dimming switches built in. These led strips some times flicker, the backing tape is beginning to fail, and they aren't quite as bright as i expected. It's a good thing they weren't all that expensive. Lesson learned. The old saying," you get what you pay for" holds true in this case.
  7. They are 2538 300's. I have about 13' of lights powered with a 6A power supply. The one that came with it was 2A and had no cord from the transformer to the 120vac supply, just a direct plugin type. Not enough clearance to add a box and plug without it sticking out. I used the one from the 5050 set i bought earlier, cut the plug off so i could wire it into a junction box hidden under the uppers. I was shocked at the small fine wire in the cord. I had to solder it onto the 120v connecting wire in the jb just to get a marr on it.
  8. I ended up with a single colour 3000k strip that is the right colour. It wasn't bright enough at the sink for hand washing dishes etc. so i ran 2 extra runs in this area. Barely enough light but acceptable.
  9. The strips are 12v. I only need about 8'. These lights were bright enough, but the white has a blue tinge to it, and my wife and i both didn't like it. I'll need to find a 5050 strip of led lights only that are more in the 2700k - 3000k range, or i'll use this set somewhere else. I've since order a $24 one colour, dimmable led set that is supposed to be 3000k. We'll see how the white looks on this one.
  10. I ended up ordering: Colohas Led Strip Lights, 2018 New Upgraded 32.8ft(10M) Waterproof Flexible RGB Led Strip Light Kit,5050 SMD 300led with 44 IR Controller,Extra Adhesive 3M Tape Strip for Home and TV Decoration. This kit came with 90 degree connectors and multiple cables. I'll need another power supply for another setup, but that shouldn't be to hard to find.
  11. I currently have 4 small fluorescent kitchen under counter lights, and would like to install LED strip lights. The present lights are hard wired with a leviton noise filter and controlled by a 2476S on/off switch and also linked to a 2487S keypad linc. I'm looking to replace them with LED strip lights and was wondering if there are any restrictions on make, size etc. I only need 6-8' of lights, but finding hardwire options may be harder. I found these lights on Amazon. Has anyone tried these type of lights with the ISY? They would be the right size, linkable and easy enough to hard wire. https://www.amazon.ca/Nadair-Dimmable-Cabinet-Lighting-Setttings/dp/B0753K7M7P/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_201_t_2?_encoding=UTF8&refRID=14XH9YYQT6RAS4HGN8S3&th=1 Thanks Brad
  12. Sorry for the delay. Yes I have a scene with the kpl button and the switchlinc trigger. That and the program mods. Everything looks good so far. Brad
  13. I had an unused on/off outletlinc, and did a test setup. Works good as a trigger. I'll make a permanent install later. I did try an older 2472D with the lamp magnetic device, but it wouldn't work for some reason. The 2473S works with a few small changes in the programs, and one small new one. Another tiny part of the learning curve figured out. Brad
  14. An Idea. What if i add an unused switchlinc or outletlinc in a remote location, and use it as a trigger. If I add it as an "or" to the vacation program. I should be able to turn it on as a device from my phone and start the programs running.
  15. No scenes are invoked when the kpl is pressed. 2 programs are activated from the physical pressing of the kpl. I want to activate the same programs remotely in case i forget to press the kpl when we leave the house. Like you say, adding the kpl to a scene won't work, and i've been trying to figure out a way to activate these programs remotely. This happened not long ago, and i thought i activated them by turning the scene with the kpl in the scene on remotely from Florida. Turns out all it did was turn the kpl light on and nothing else. I'm not sure if this is even possible at this point. Thanks again for your help. Brad
  16. Sorry Lee i was typing and noticed your reply after i posted. Is there any way to invoke the action of the physical pressing of the kpl button?
  17. I know it sounds confusing. The programs run when the kpl is pressed physically. When the kpl is activated from the console or from my phone, the kpl light comes on but the lights don't respond as they should. I gather programs linked to a kpl need the physical action of the kpl. i'm not sure how to link the programs to a scene so i can activate them remotely. it isn't as easy as just adding the kpl button to a scene. Thanks for any help Brad
  18. I have 1 program setup to run a series of lights when we are away. These are programmed with varying on and off times with sunset etc. These work ok when physically pressing the kpl. 2 lights are setup to be active when the away button is not pressed to act as normally on plugs. When the kpl is pressed they shutoff and the program will turn them on and off. I made a scene with the kpl button in it to activate the program if we are out and cannot get home in time, or we forgot to turn the kpl on when we left. When i turn the scene on from pressing the kpl physically these lights turn off as they should, and are ready for their on command later in the evening. if i turn the scene on from my phone with mobilinc pro or from the console, the kpl lights up, but the lights will not shut off and i assume the programs will not run. i also have a program setup to stop some programs and return the 2 lights to their on status when we get home and turn the vacation kpl button off. I'm not sure what i'm missing with the scene to get these programs to work the same as physically pressing the button.
  19. Ran the program last night and all worked ok. Thanks again Brad
  20. Thanks Lee. I made two scenes with a KPL button as responder in each. I added the scene to then and else for each light in the program to turn the KPL button on and off with the lights. I'll try it tonight. I can't remember what i did to get this working before. It prevents double tapping buttons to get them in the right position when i turn off the vacation program, and some of the lights are still on.
  21. I have a kpl with one button assigned as vacation, which programs a series of lights in the house while away. When the vacation button is pressed, all the lights work with the various programs as they should. The other kpl buttons assigned to 2 of these lights don't come on when the lights do with the program. I have the led brightness set to on1/off 0 for regular manual operation, but when the program runs they don't light up. I had this working before, but something happened, and now it's not quite as clear on how to add the buttons to the program. The attached file shows the options to add the kpl to the "then" and else. I don't remember seeing this when i first had the buttons come on with the progams. That was a couple of years ago. Any help would be appreciated. Brad
  22. I use Mobilinc. It was a bit of a chalenge to set up, but after all that it works great.
  23. I found an 9v AC adapter for an old Nintendo, and plugged that into the same extension cord. That was enough load to shut them off. Thanks again for the prompt response.
  24. Thanks. The other 2 sets have more lights on them, so i gather it's enough of a load to turn them off. It sure doesn't take much to light the LED's. I'll have to rig something up.
  25. I set up a 2473s as a timer for a Christmas tree with a string of LED lights. The lights are dimly lit when the outlet linc is off. Is this normal leakage? I have another set of LED lights on another 2473, and they are completly off, as are the outside lights on an appliance linc. Thanks for any help. Brad
