This could be bad...
Apparently some major security flaws are about to be released regarding Insteon's protocol. https://defcon.org/html/defcon-23/dc-23-speakers.html#Shipley

Amazon Echo and ISY
I've started messing with something basic ... working on a relay method now to send the commands to the ISY (when it's behind a firewall), as the Echo can't speak to devices on the LAN from what I can tell.

Amazon Echo and ISY
Got my echo developer access. I'll have/know more on this soon!

Custom voice/speech recognition with intercom feedback
Thanks and you're welcome! I had thought about creating a device that would easily integrate into the ISY/Insteon eco-system, and launching a crowd funding campaign for it, but I've been busy working on other projects. I do have some of the test boards and notes lying around.

Custom voice/speech recognition with intercom feedback
I threw together a continuous voice/speech recognition controller/trigger for my Insteon set up last summer using the ISY, Mac Mini, Arduino, Easy VR shield, and a custom intercom system. Recognition is pretty decent up to 8-9ft away depending on your volume level. I could get it to detect words with half-assed accuracy when yelling up to about 15 ft. I've posted a demonstration on my Youtube channel @ . Let me know if you have any questions.

KeypadLinc giving current weather conditions
Instant realtime weather conditions from the bedroom, at the push of a button. A demonstration of my bedroom keypad (8 button INSTEON KeypadLinc), integrated with my custom home controller and intercom system, driven by the ISY Network plugin.

Cross-Linked KeypadLincs Dimmed State
Oh, and I did confirm that a manually dimmed KPL will reflect on the linked responder KPL button backlighting.

Cross-Linked KeypadLincs Dimmed State
I had something similar, but last night, the ISY got into some type of infinite loop (after working fine for over a week), and started flashing on/off. I'm wondering if it had something to do with the living KPL being set up as a controller for the bedroom KPL, and the program turning the button "ON." It was quite odd. I ended up rebooting the ISY and all was normal again, but definitely strange.

Cross-Linked KeypadLincs Dimmed State
Thanks for the input guys. Sounds like a half-assed implementation/design (Insteon?). Could the backlight be controlled via program that monitored the bedroom KPL for a change? Seems like that would be possible.

Cross-Linked KeypadLincs Dimmed State
I just tested it by setting the master keypadlinc to a current state of 99% in the ISY, the linked living's linked keypadlinc still showed it as off. It only appears to show any on state (backlight), when I issue a full-ON.

Cross-Linked KeypadLincs Dimmed State
I've got two KeypadLincs installed. One in my master bedroom (2486DWH8), and one in my living (2487S converted to 8 button). The main (light) in the master bedroom's KeypadLinc has been cross-linked with a button in the living using two scenes (one for each direction). The synchronization works fine in all scenarios except when the master bedroom's main (light) is dimmed. If the light is dimmed, the KeypadLinc in the living does not reflect that the light is on in the master. Am I missing something with my set up? Should this be working? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Release 3.3.8 (RC5) Is Now Available
-- Ignore -- I had a rogue program causing my problems.

Release 3.3.7 (RC4) Is Now Available
Never came back on the network after upgrade. First time I've witnessed this when upgrading the firmware. Had to flop the power to get it back online.

Release 3.3.6 (RC3) Is Now Available
I too witnessed a freaked out (2487S) Dual Band KeypadLinc Relay v.41 - thought I was going to have a seizure with the nice light show it was giving off (buttons flashing and not responding). I pulled the sync button (air gap?) and let it restart. I also removed all of my assigned scenes, and have refrained from using it. Strange, it is.

IOLink Sensor / Trigger Reverse
Thanks for the advise Lee! Fingers crossed this does the trick!

IOLink Sensor / Trigger Reverse
Could the 3AM scan look at the scenes/configurations and NOT "flip the bit" if it's reversed? Sounds like the best approach would be to change out the sensor; I've gone ahead and ordered a new open/closed contact from Smarthome (http://www.smarthome.com/7455B/Garage-D ... -3-/p.aspx) -- it's ridiculous that their kit didn't include this model to begin with. I would have paid extra to not have to go through this hassle.

IOLink Sensor / Trigger Reverse
Screwed by smarthomes magnetic sensor switcharoo, I'm trying to get my IOLink (Garage opener) to show the correct status when the door is open. Currently the sensor is showing "on" when the door is closed, and "off" when the door is open. I've read somewhere that I could use the "Trigger Reverse" option, however the changes don't appear to save when I try this, as it returns back to the defaults each time. My system information is below. Any help is much appreciated! ISY 994i / Firmware 3.2.6

New iOS App Features
Thanks for the feedback! I did see Mobilinc, but I'm not a big fan of the interface (or the free version having such limited functionality). I'd like to build layout support for both iPhone/iPad resolution, as well as the iPad, for I feel the user experience could be much richer, given the additional screen real estate.

New iOS App Features
What's everyones take on a free ISY native iOS app? I'm not one to recreate the wheel, but what I've found is either pricey (and ugly), or limited. Given the REST API, and being a software developer, this would be a rather trivial exercise. Since you are the subject matter experts, hit me with your comments, suggestions, features, love and/or hate. Go!
