  1. Hi guys.... Well I got home and go figure. Had it setup as status and not control. Works like a charm. Really appreciate all of the input from everyone. Thanks!
  2. I think you guys are probably right... The more I ponder this I bet it's set up as a STATUS condition and NOT control. I'll take a look see when I get home. I appreciate all the feedback from everyone, I'll let you know the outcome when I get back home. Cheers!
  3. Hi Oberkc, I'm out of town at the moment, so can't test any of this. You're absolutely right, simple program. But the issue is .... that we leave the garage door open all day. Then when sunset hits it executes the program that turns on the lights and sends a notification. I want to prevent it from doing this if the door is already open. I only want this program to execute at the actual time I open the door. I have never worked with variables. But was thinking that if I could have some sort of timer sequence to launch after the door opened (say 3 seconds), and the program could ONLY be executed within that window, that inturn would prevent the program to execute at any other time, like when tho door is left open all day and sunset triggers it. But if you could think of something else that would give the same result, I'd sure appreciate some advise. Are you savvy with variables?
  4. It just hit me.... To correct this I think all I have to do is make another condition, for the program to look at the status of the garage sensor when in the open condition. If open, don't launch the program.
  5. OK, so I have a program that during the time of sunset to sunrise the next day when the garage door opens it turns on lights and sends a notification that the door has been opened. No problem works fine. The issue is, that we tend to leave our garage door open all evening after work, until a set time when another program closes it automatically. That programs works fine. The rub being.... When sunset hits it triggers the open program to execute (Because the condition of the door is open), causing the lights to come on and the notification to be sent out. My question is.... How do I only make these chain of events happen when when I actually open the door OR Not execute if the door has been open for some period of time? I thought about installing another I/O linc to monitor the open door status and making condition to be met or not, before turning on lights and sending out the notification. But figured there's got to be an easier way. Thanks
  6. I don't see it either??? I sent it again. If for some reason it's not getting thru can i send via email?
  7. I added two files, one screen shot in a msword doc and the log itself
  8. Still nada... Here's the log
  9. Hi... Installed a second 8 button KPL (2486DWH8) V6.0 and it works fine except for the fact that I can't get the ISY to control the LED's. When I try to change the brightness levels I get an error that states: "Request failed" I've power cycled the ISY and looked thru the posts and can't find a resolution. My other 8 button KPL works fine.
  10. Okay thanks....
  11. Great! I like the example of the program you mentioned here... As an alternative a few ISY Programs could be written to sense when the KeypadLinc button is pressed On and check the I/O Linc Sensor Status a few seconds later to confirm the door actually moved . It the I/O Linc Sensor did not turn On the Program would turn the KeypadLinc button Off which would indicate the door did not open. Same thing with the KeypadLinc Off press. Check the I/O Linc Sensor 10 seconds later to make sure the Sensor turned Off. If not turn the KeypadLinc button On to indicate the door did not close. Do you have an example of this?
  12. Yes sir.... Everything seems to work but the concern is (with the door fully opened) and I press the button on the keypad the LED on the kp goes out as immediately, I would think it should wait until the door is fully closed as reported from the sensor. It seems like it's acting on the condition of the kp button and not the sensor on the door. Again the weird thing is if I go to the door and manually raise and lower the door the LED on the kp goes on when the door is opened and out when closed... As it should. Can you send either the wiki link or some other step by step process for setting this up (can't find it) and i will reconfirm if I did it correctly. Thank you
  13. I mounted the sensor high so it will be out of the way of things to prevent it from getting knocked around and tearing wires or bumped out of alignment, but it's still in contact with magnet when fully closed . Not sure of the exact type of sensor (Threw paperwork away), buts it's what the guys at Smarthome sent with the kit (Pretty rugged, metal construction). I have it set-up so the the LED on the keypad is illuminated (on) when the door is open and that's what I want it to display. I guess if I have to choose which condition I want a higher level of confidence as to whether the door is open or closed that would be CLOSED.
  14. So if it's in non-toggle mode does that mean I have to have on button dedicated to OPEN and one button dedicated to CLOSE?
  15. Yes it is in toggle mode and I used the RED and BLACK wires off of the sensor (Can't remember if that compliment was NO or NC). The weird thing is that if i raise and lower the door manually the LED on the KPL turns on when open and goes out when closed as it should.
  16. I'm sure there is a very simple explanation for this but the LED for the 8 button kp is not reflecting the actual status as to the garage door when I toggle the garage door to close/open via the kp. The light goes out as soon as I press the button to close and comes on as soon as I press the button to open. I think it should wait until the sensor has been satisfied in either condition. But, if I open and close the door manually the LED on the kp changes accordingly. I used the wiki instructions to set this up but maybe I missed something. Please assist, Thank you
