I went to reboot and noticed only the power light is on, and flickering at that. With a new power supply it seems to have accepted the time zone setting, even logged in via telnet and rebooted. Hopefully it doesn't go down again 😁

I'm unable to check right now because the ISY has gone offline. However, I doubt any of this is due to a mismatch of the UI and server versions.
-
Also the Admin Console Java app is very slow and not responsive when I attempt multiple tasks in sequence. There is a red flag in the lower left corner when it is failing to respond.
-
Also in system status it shows startup time was today 10 AM, but I did not reboot it.
-
NTP server too, I set it to a local NTP on the LAN but it keeps reverting back to ntp.org server

Now I noticed the time zone is stuck on USA, CA Los Angeles and this causes issues with my scheduled programs. I try to set the correct timezone but it doesn't save. I tested the SD card and can read it all without any errors.

I just noticed ISY was offline from a 3rd party integration with an invalid credentials error. After some troubleshooting (because obviously this can't be a password issue) turns out the ISY reverted back to the default admin/admin user and password. What could possibly cause this? Once I login all the devices, scenes, and program appear to be working. It was working no less than 4 hours ago when outside lighting turned on.

Don't take it the wrong way, Universal Devices charges a very fair price for their product and provides very good long term support. I wouldn't expect them to just give away the software and also keep the lights on.

Yes you are correct is is Polyglot V2. I understand UDI needs to sell things to stay in business but I can't really justify another hardware appliance. Polisy is just an off the shelf PC Engines APU running FreeBSD and UDI's proprietary software (if you dig around you can actually pull the install scripts from their servers)
-
I'm using HA through the ISY (which I assume is essentially the same as ISY on Polisy) and it allows you to integrate all sorts of devices. I never really liked Polisy and it always breaks when I try to update to the latest version. Polisy V2 of course since it's the latest version that allows running on a virtual machine. I am not aware of any ZIgbee support even on V3.

Take a look at your breaker panel is the outlet the PLM is connected to and your detached garage on different sides (left or right) of the panel? In any case try to move the PLM to an outlet that's controlled by a breaker on the opposite side and see if that helps. Ideally an outlet that's close to the panel and doesn't have a long cable run or with very many "noisy" devices. Another option is try to move the PLM close to a window facing the detached garage, regardless of where on the breaker panel it corresponds to, and hope the wireless signal is able to travel to the garage.

I can either use an existing micro module that controls outdoor lighting or install a new one in an empty junction box that's a few inches away from the PLM. Upon bench testing it appears to work as intended toggling the micro module on and off. I have yet to test how well it will integrate with my scenes. Also I can't recommend the WAGO Levernut enough, especially where you have a junction box with 4-5 neutrals. No more nightmares thinking about replacing a failing Insteon device!

The one I'm looking at is Intermatic EK4236S which is line voltage. Supposed to be relay based and "compatible with LED lamps" I'm not particularly interested in making circuits or finding spare outlets to hang IOlinks (and then having to run the lv wiring) I did look into the Insteon motion sensor but it's unclear how the photocell works, if it will withstand outdoor operation, and lugging a device around to charge batteries would be annoying.
-
I was wondering what are your thoughts on this... If I wire a photocell to switch the sense wire on a micro module could I then capture the status of that micro module directly without having to hack around it (create programs and the like)? In other words photocell turns on (because it's dark outside) could this directly trigger the scene where the micro module is a controller?

I think the only electronic device on that circuit is a wifi... washing machine. Certainly no UPS or things of that nature.

This is the program. Most nights it does work some it does not (such as yesterday) Status = True Last Run time = Sun 2020/11/15 05:32 Timer: New Outside Lights On - [ID 0032][Parent 0002] If Time is Sunset Then Set 'Outside Lights / Scenes / Pool Light' On Set 'Outside Lights Bright' On Set '54.FB.27.1' On Set 'Inside Lights / FLOOR OUTLET' On Set 'Outside Lights / Scenes / Pool Light' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') And the scene:

I have a program setup on the ISY that at sunset turns on some scenes and devices. For the past few days it has not been working. I login to the ISY and trigger the scene directly and that works fine. I can also connect with the Admin Console and trigger the program to turn on the lights. How can I get the scheduled program working again? The programs to turn off the lights don't seem to be having issues. I do notice one of the devices in the program intermittently says not responding in the Admin Console, but I don't think that should be blocking the other items.

I worked this out with ISY tech support. The solution was to set the KPL button to non-toggle mode and them back to regular mode. Odd...
-
This is the scene that has issues. Note that issue is only through the Patio KPL button. The On, Fast On, Off, Fast Off, Bright, and Dim commands from the ISY work as expected. When I press Patio KPL Outside Lights button I expect that 1) Rear Patio Recessed Lights turns on, 2) Patio KPL Outside Lights button illuminates to indicate the lamp is on and 3) that I can press Patio KPL Outside Lights button again to turn off the light. Here is how the button appears in the ISY: And the lamp: And a new scene, all I do is go to Link Management > New Scene, and then I drag the devices to it, set everything as responder (no controller in these):
-
I have the scene working without issues for months. I only have KeypadLinc button as controller. InlineLinc is only responder. Then I add these devices, only as responder, to another scence and basic functions are all messed up. Is there any documentation that actually explains this? And explains why I would set a device as a controller when I have no intent ever for that device to control scene? My understanding is InlineLinc as controller would only be needed when I want the physical buttons on the InlineLinc to control the scene. ..Also, how would you even do this when in Insteon a device can only be controller to 1 scene? If InlineLinc is controller to which scene would that be because it's part of 4 scenes now!

Trying to get all devices to have a uniform appearance I was struggling with because I would see backlight level 0 on some devices. Is the backlight level like the quality of the keypad materials, where devices purchased at different times are not exact matches? If I were to go in and adjust the backlight level on everything to match would I end up with a uniform appearance, or would I notice some are brighter and others are dimmer? Since I don't have any desire to adjust the backlight level, does anyone know what is the factory default value?

Insteon replaced the Keypad but it still doesn't dim my bulb! I also ordered 4 new bulbs, 2 of the same brand/model and 2 of a different brand. No matter what bulb I put in this dimmer it doesn't work right. Even if I take a working bulb out of another dimmer. Also the flickering when Insteon signals are sent is back, and seems to be affecting a new device. Insteon says they're going to send me a "modified keypad" that "should help" any idea what that entails? I haven't told them I got the shunt capacitors, for fear they say the warranty is void. Also my 220v load controller seems to have died again. Same as last time, load control button on the unit works but Why is this stuff so unreliable??

I am trying to simplify my setup switching from programs to scenes. I start working with 1 light that consists of Keypadlinc button and InlineLinc Dimmer module. It is already configured in one scene where I can turn the light on and off with the KeypadLinc button and that button should also reflect the status of the light. In this scene Keypadlinc button is controller and InlineLinc is responder. So I create 3 new scenes: Outside Lights Bright Outside Lights Dim Outside Lights Off To each of these scenes I add the relevant outside lights and KeypadLinc buttons related to outside lights. I don't configure them yet for the proper on levels and ramp rates, but that shouldn't be an issue because there is no controller for these scenes and I have never set these as On or Off. The issue is now the KeypadLinc button doesn't work as expected. When I press the button lamp turns on, but button flashes on and then back off (almost as if it was set to non-toggle on mode, but it's not) and I have no way to turn off the light through the KeypadLinc. However, I can find the scene in ISY Console or Mobilinc App and turn it on and off and it works as expected. ALSO even though the KeypadLinc button is not lit up the ISY Console shows the light as being "On" How can I get this to work? Can a KeypadLinc button not be responder for multiple scenes? I already try to restore the devices from the ISY and airgap the KeypadLinc and that did not help. Also off-topic, but wondering if ISY tracks the status of scenes? Because I don't see it anywhere in the Console, but my MobiLinc app shows on/off status when I look at a scene.

8 button mode sounds like it could work... I've already played with it on a 3d printed 4 wide button KPL (it was a nice idea, but where do I find buttons that say something other than On, Off, or No?)
-
What's the best way to configure it? I'm not sure how I can make the big OFF button on a KPL be linked to a scene without linking the big ON button.
