I installed a replacement PLM I had (V2.1 date code 15xx) Restored PLM with no errors shown. But now it's a mess. I'm having to go through all the devices and write updates because lots of them have a green arrow next to them.
-
I was away from home when troubleshooting earlier. When I tried to restore the PLM nothing seemed to happen and then I was locked out due to a firewall issue. Now when I try to restore the PLM I get this error: Failed writing PLM master link (Bedroom Light KPL Load) [-200000/-3] Trying to restore the Bedroom Light KPL is very slow and half way through I get an Cannot Communicate with error. But I'm able to switch the light on and off from the ISY. The date code is V2.0 1444 (is that 44th week of 2014?) and I purchased it from Amazon.com April 2015.

Says I will need 130 links. I checked again and now the count is 50. So when I check the count it should be around 130? So I'm looking now at the ISY and it's like the status isn't getting updated. I see lights that should be on, but show off. I query the device and the state in the ISY changes to On.

LOG just shows events like HTTP error, DHCP leases, etc. Event Viewer doesn't show a history from before the Admin Console is open PLM Link Table shows 78 links, is that an issue?
-
The regular log seems to only work while it's open. Is there any way to keep a log for a week or two of all events?
-
But should that cause other devices to go crazy? The keypad has been like that for a few weeks and the stuff randomly turning on started a few days ago. I verified the time on the ISY is correct and looked at the error log but there's nothing useful there.
-
I have no idea where to start. Things are randomly turning on! For e.g. today I go to leave my house and press the garage button on my MobiLink app and the flood lights and sprinklers turned on. And I don't even have a button for flood lights or sprinklers on my Mobilink app. Could this be due to failing Insteon devices? One of my keypads locked up a few weeks ago and I power cycled it. It still kind of works, but it beeps whenever you press a button and the LEDs are all off and won't turn on.

Still unable to get this working properly! The fanlink was defecting (what a surprise), I replaced it now now if I control the scenese from the ISY everything works properly... but if I control the scene from the keypadlink the fan off, low, and medium buttons all turn the fan to be full speed
-
I don't see any guide on the ISY wiki for the fanlink product. Support replied back that I should set it up like it was before... which also was not working. It is very strange that I press the button on the keypad and the fan does not turn on, then then when I view the status on the ISY it shows that all the buttons are on, even if I query the keypad, but only one button on the keypad is on.
-
I _still_ can not get these products working togther. Even when I remove everything about the remote control and then follow the official steps to sync the fanlink and keypad link: http://support.insteon.com/customer/portal/articles/1841919-isy-configuring-keypadlinc-with-fanlinc it does not work! I press the fan low button on my keypad and the fan does not turn on! But then the fan is already off an I press the fan off button and it turns on at full blast. I've already contacted support and await a response, but why can there be proper documentation on how to make these products work?

How it's currently setup I will not get into because it doesn't work and I've found on more than one occasion the lights on the keypad cycling between off/low/medium/high. Not that it was wrong or didn't update but a light such as Fan Low would turn on, then it would turn off a second later and the Fan Off light would turn on, over and over again until I would pull the air gap and unplug the ISY. What I have ISY 994i FANLINC - INSTEON 2475F CEILING FAN AND LIGHT CONTROLLER KEYPADLINC - INSTEON 2487S 6-BUTTON SCENE CONTROL KEYPAD with the load wire capped off FANLINC BUTTON KIT FOR KEYPADLINC FANLINC - INSTEON 2475F CEILING FAN AND LIGHT CONTROLLER What I want it to do: Mini Remote stays configured in 4 scene mode. See photo here: http://cache-m1.smarthome.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/2/3/2342-232_animatedbig.gif First row of buttons (scene a) for Fan Linc light. Per the 4-scene configuration, pressing the left button should lower the speed of the fan, and the right button should increase the speed of the fan. Second row of buttons (scene is for Fan Linc fan motor. Per the 4-scene configuration, pressing the left button should dim the light, and the right button should brighten the light. 3rd row of buttons (scene c) for some other unrelated light 4th row of buttons (scene d) for some other unrelated light When the fan speed is adjusted from the Mini Remote the KeypadLinc should indicate the new fan speed. When the light is off, if the light is switched on from the Mini Remote the Keypad Linc should be updated to reflect this status If the light is on and it becomes switched off from the Mini Remote (not sure if this is even possible or if it will stay "on" but dimmed at 0%) the KeyPad Linc should also be updated to show off. When I get around to integrating this with the rest of my home, if the fan speed or light status is changed in the ISY through a program, etc, then the KeyPad Link should also be updated to show the current and correct status of the light and/or fan

My understanding is I need to make 5 scenes for the fan and keypad to sync properly: Light Fan Off Fan Low Fan Medium Fan High If I have one scene in the Mini Remote for the fan (faster/slower) and another for the light (brighter/dimmer) how exactly do I assign those?
-
That's fine, but how do I handle the INSTEON Mini Remote - 4 Scene? The idea being that the Keypad reflects the current status of the fan and light even if it's controlled by the keypad.
-
I have the remote in 4 button mode so that will not work.

My ISY is non-Pro and the version is V.4.2.18. I've managed to import a newly generated certificate and key in PKCS12 format after manually adding a password to it, however it still does not communicate and continues to give the same error as before. The parameters I used to generate the certificate are as follows: Key length: 1024 bits Digest algorithm: SHA256 Certificate type: server certificate

I still haven't gotten this working right. Sometimes the KeyPad would start blinking all the lights. What's the right way to have FanLink + Keypad + remote working together and always staying synchronized?
-
After upgrading my phone to Android 5.0.1 I get this error: MobiLinc is unable to connect to your lighting controller If I disable HTTPS it works. There are some suggestions to make a new certificate, but I don't understand why this would matter. Anyways, I try to make a new certificate: I fill in all the info in the ISY Dashboard and then I click "Cert. Request" and I get this error repeated 5 times: "Subject type class is invalid." Since that fails I make a new certificate in my CA and then attempt to import it in PKCS12 format and it asks for a password -- however this certificate has no password -- I press OK on the password prompt leaving it blank. After this there is neither an error or confirmation, but it appears not to work! Any tips on how to get this working again?

Make sure that you have the mini remote buttons in a scene as controllers, with the respective keypad buttons as responders. In the end, I would expect, for each fan speed, a scene with respective keypad button as controller, remotelinc button as controller, and fanlinc speed as responder. All other keypad buttons for other fan speeds should also be included, as responder, with ON levels equal to zero. I have the remote set for 4 scene mode. I only want one row of buttons to act as on/off speedup/slowdown. I do not want the remote to have 4 buttons (two rows of buttons) to control the fan functions because I want to use those buttons for other things. And I further want it in 4 button mode because in 8 button mode it does not keep sync with the use of other controls. Given this are you still sure I should add the one control (e.g. Mini Remote-AB) in ISY to each of the four scenes created for the fan control? How does it know to associate each fan speed to the correct button in this case? For the time being I have created 4 programs that seems to keep it working as I expect, however I would like for this to be independent of the ISY in case it (or the most likely scenario: the PLM) goes down. Also I am not sure if it's constantly putting unnecessary traffic on the INSTEON network even when there is no control of the fan taking place: If Status 'TV Ceiling-Light / TV Ceiling-Motor' is Off Then Set Scene 'KPL Fan Off Scene' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') That is how I would expect it to work: In the parent scene node you set the responders and they respond in that fashion when the scene is triggered. However, that is not the case. As you previously indicated: the way to set how the scene responders respond is by setting those options for the child of the scene node (Controller/red node.)

I have a Keypad Link 6-button On/Off not connected to any load and a Fan Link with the light hooked up. I created a scene with the Fan Light as a responder and the Keypad-1 as a Controller/Responder. The On/Off buttons are linked to the Fan Link light and work as expected: when quickly pressed and released they turn on/off, and when the fan light is controlled from another source they correctly reflect the status. Further when pressing and holding the on or off buttons I am able to dim or brighten the fan light. However if the fan light is already on and I press and hold the Keypad off button to dim the fan light, the Keypad suddenly shows the light as being off even if it is turned on. How can I dim the light from the Keypad and have it continue to reflect a correct status for the light?

The part of Fan Link < --- > Keypad Link is working fine for me after reading here. This does beg the question: What the #*@*@ is the option for on levels of the main scene node for if they have no effect!? However the main issue I am facing is with a 4 Scene Mini Remote. I have it setup so one button row is for the fan. When I press the On side the fan turns off. When I press the off side the fan turns off. When I hold the respective side the fan will speed up or slow down. I need this to be in sync with the Keypad. So if the remote adjusts the fan to low, the Keypad button "Fan Low" should illuminate and " Fan off", " Fan Med" and " Fan High" buttons should be off, etc. Currently what happens is the Mini Remote changes does not cause the Keypad lights to change at all. The entire Reason I bought 1x Fan Link, 1x Keypad Link, 1x Mini remote is so that everything could be in sync. Previously I had the built in fan controller's remote which was overidden by the wall switch that was outside the room and it was annoying to have to get up and turn on the fan when the switch was turned off.

I installed the Java 99i Administrative Console through the website and now have the icon on my desktop. Usually when I open this up I get an error message that states "Not found" that I have to close out. Why is this, and is there any way to disable the finding feature?
-
I would try to run the cable through the back somehow. That light for e.g. has to be wired somehow. And if the power is on but the freezer's compressor failed? Insteon doesn't seem the way to go, a CAI Webcontrol is something like 1/3 or 1/2 the price of an IOLinc.

You guys are genius! I have one of these mounted and unused ever since I replaced the opener. Now I can throw away more X10 garbage.
-
My thought would be more to send off signal to all inside lights every 10 seconds... make it hard to burgle the home! One of my main reasons for getting the ISY is to interface with the alarm that sends X10 signals; but after further research it seems I can throw away the ancient speak-n-spell and interface the ISY directly with the alarm system.

Any news with the pricing? I want to buy the ISY 994i Pro. Smarthome does not sell this unit. Is the price of the Pro upgrade the diffrence between the Pro unit? $229 - $199 = $30 upgrade fee?
