Just getting some TP-Link (Kasa) into network resources, and wanted to add them to a christmas lights scene. I'm on 4.9 so no ability to get to advanced 5 features yet if that is possible There. Started with trying to add a program to look for control of the 8 pad button press C for christmas, but program did not trigger when I turned them on at the keypad.

PC 4.9.0, will try it again, PC has rebooted and installed windows updates since I had the issue, just popped into my mind last night to ask while reading the TP-Link thread again.
-
Are you folks able to cut and paste into the body details? E.g. I was setting up the KASA decimal strings from another thread and had to hand type them the first time vs cut and paste.

SERIOUS Christmas light guy here. There are stand alone controllers out there you could run from a Rasberry PI and have total control of your lights from. Are you on Facebook, ping me there and I can direct you to some groups and some other options for trim, light type, etc. Thinking of upgrading mine to something that matches the trim now, but the PEX tubing with strip lead in them have held up for 8 years now. A lot of folks lights DO NOT hold up outside in that application.
-
I am back on one of the later 4. branches myself, anything besides what was in the upgrade instructions above that tripped you up, or wish you had done differently?

Thank you for the detailed write up, when I replace my receiver will give those utilities a try as well! I think I was trying to wake up my Kef speakers, but do not recall now.

I have an EdgeRouter as well and did not get WOL to work with that router. Dug around a bit in the forums of Ubiqit last year trying to figure out what setting(s) needed tweaking to make it work, but did not get it figured out.

Any further update on integration? Does the Hue node work completely cloud free? Sent from my SM-T820 using Tapatalk

Marcin, how was your experience and would you buy this route again? Have an ez-flora now and looking for something the wife could handle on her own or a sprinkler guy should I be gone.

Goose can you elaborate on that a bit please? You using a unique program for say the on and the off portion of alexa routines or ?

What is the latest on the Polsys shipping? And thank you very much for the instructions, I need to get over to 5 something..

Need a little more hand holding here as I am stumped a bit. I want a routine Watch Tivo to set a state variable to a value. Not finding how to get Alexa to manipulate the variable via a routine. I can do it as a device, but have to say watch tivo on.

That is what I thought on the other key which is a scene it works fine, just the A key which controls the device does not so far.
-
I have not tried the scene, but seeing a pattern here. This particular button is not part of a scene and being A is a true device on the keypad.

Not sure which version of the Ring Doorbell camera to get for the ISY integration, several on sale for a few more hours today as part of the Prime days. Which ones work fellows the best vs compromises you found? Ideally I want to record to my NVR as well, but reading that seems to be only with like the PC based NVR vs the hardware NVR aka Nelly aka Hikvision..

Having some trouble getting Alexa to work with a 8 key keypad to operate a light. This is a 8 key dimmer pad and I have the can lights on the A button. I cannot get Alexa to work with it as it says the switch is non responsive. Not sure what to make of that, I deleted it from the ISY portal, re-added and still get the same does not respond message in alexa. Secret sauce for a keypad?
-
Wifey wants a ring doorcam, definitely be following this progress!
-
Just got my Alexa running with the ISY and was looking through best skills etc. Wondering what you all have found to be useful skills to enable and what nifty tricks you are using the Alexa for along with the ISY994?

Can I say Alexa OPEN the garage door instead of Alexa turn On the garage door
arw01 replied to pz1122's topic in Amazon Echo
New to this Alexa talking to the ISY stuff, what's the 411 on setting up the routine to open the garage door with the Alexa open the garage door? -
I consider this closed. Putting the filter on to stop powerline communications has made the network much more solid. My last mystery is why it keeps trying to communicate with a motion sensor. I've tried write, query etc, but it seems to want to communicate with it every day.
-
I had one from about 3 weeks back prior to the two ALL ON events that drove me to replace it. 5:30am with an all on and the wife wokeup did not go un-noticed! This morning with the power line still filtered not a single cannot communicate on the overnight query. So far only once device has not taking programming and of course it's a later model one from the last couple of years and way up on the ceiling requiring the long ladder to get at.

The steps for restore device have finished on the ISY, but I am still no closer. I just factory reset a light switch that has a access point near it, the PLM within 10' and it just appears to completely not respond. Not a single device seems to be restored. Beginning to wonder if I got a defective modem from Smarthome. My caps replaced modem made it another 4 years, but a pair or all on events, one at 5:40 in the morning was the last straw. Ordered a new modem on black friday pricing. That took about a week to show up and I unplugged the old modem for the week. This appears to have really caused me issues as the ISY apparently has a week or more of queries and program writes and non communications that it must work through before it will do a modem restore. I've been coming along for days and causing it to try and restore one device. Still waiting to get there. Is there a way to completely wipe out the que so I can do the modem restore actual writes to the devices?

I know the power supply that the outdoorlink (4e.01.2b)is controller causes this, but from looking at the logs it sure looks like an answer comes along in a few seconds here. If the outdoorlinc is off, it responds instantly. Since it's an outdoorlink, sticking a filter in here is tricky as they are not outdoor rated.
