Will do as soon as it happens again.

I have also been experiencing this issue. I have found that when I get this response, the ISY Portal shows that it has lot connectivity with my ISY. This is something "new" as I have not had this problem in the past (been using alexa for 8+ months). I thought it had to do with a new router setup at my home however even after changing it, it still disconnects. When this happens, there is nothing in the ISY error log that coincides with the timestamp on the portal, not anything in the router logs. I've am experimenting with different configs to see if anything helps (static IP, reserved IP, DMZ (as an experiment only),etc).... Sometimes this happens days apart, other times it is 2-3 times per day. Internet connection is FTTH 1Gbps, no other connectivity issues or reports from other devices (alarm panel as an example).

Amazon is now only allowing addresses that are in "registered" countries. For now that means UK, US and Germany. If I try to use an Canadian address it fails. The only thing that you can really change is the timezone if you are not in a "registered" country. That seems to have been implemented just prior to Dot 2 release.

Hmmm....this doesn't seem to be working with my New Dot - second editoin. TimezoneID works then it fails after that.

This is GREAT! Now the rest of the family won't get confused when they ask about weather and restaurants. Worked like a charm...

How To Guide: Getting Alexa to provide verbal responses
rahnee replied to blueman2's topic in Amazon Echo
This really is cool, I've been looking for a solution that would allow me to ask Alexa if the alarm was on, lights were on, door locked etc. Did you figure out how to pass variables, that is the key to making it truly helpful. This solution, as you pointed out, is very elementary since we have to write programs for all the different possibilities. This is a good start... -
How To Guide: Getting Alexa to provide verbal responses

Evidently my ID changed and I did not realize it. I must have told it to update. I started from scratch and it worked the first time. I hate it when it is the old "turn it off and back on again"! Thanks again. -

Hmm..I keep getting "TCP Client Request Failed" when trying to test from the ISY. it is HTTP Post, application/json, has a / after id...scratching my head. When done from a browser I get "There are no responses stored for user" -
How To Guide: Getting Alexa to provide verbal responses

Can you provide an example of the actual ISY Program, Network Resouce (you already did above), and the Actual skill. I'm playing with this but keep getting the response from Alexa "You have no saved responses" Thanks...very cool -
I'm torn on this Alexa thing. Not sure if I should wait for v2 or jump in "semi-early" and get into it. I'm up in Montreal so I would have to get it in the US. (not a big deal). Bummer is that everything is US based with regards to geo-location etc. so I'm not sure I benefit from all the "bells and whistles" it has to offer. Teken, what is your take on true added value vs. "first in lets see what she can do". Looking for input from any and all on this...

I'm looking for the exact same thank however I also want RGB and DIM control. There are plenty of devices out there that allow iOS/Android control over wifi. The issue I am having is finding a company that has an exposed HTTP interface or similar so I can control it with the ISY Network Module. From what I've seen the controller has all the logic and the app is just passing RGB colors, Dim level etc. LTech (ltechonline) is the leader in LED control...I have reached out to them however I am sure the language barrier will make this difficult.

It evaluates true when it is Greater than 61%. Then, when set to 60% it is no longer true and thus stops. You could call a separate program with No IF statement that does the 60, 30, off . Any time the light was greater than 61% this would call the program to step it down. If the switch was turned back on, it would reset the program and start again. If Status 'Master Bath Toilet Light' > 61% Then Wait 1 minute Run Program 'Fade master toilet light' (then path) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') //Fade Master Toilet Light If - No Conditions Then Wait 1 minute Set 'Master Bath Can Lights' 60% Wait 1 minute Set 'Master Bath Can Lights' 30% Wait 1 minute Set 'Master Bath Can Lights' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

I would suspect weak communications if it takes more than one attempt to restore the device. -Xathros You would think, but even if the device is in the same room (aka wire) I had to do it 2X. Very strange. No noise on the line etc...it is clean...I've never experienced it before. Not to mention that all 3 devices had the exact same symptom and resolution.

Well it appears that the backlight issue is fixed AND the random buttons turning on with the 2486D (8 button) is also resolved. The "fix" them I had to reset the device and then "restore device" twice. The first time it only seems to load half of the links..they second time they took everything and once again started working properly. Not knowing what you did to fix the backlighting issues...I could only guess that this was oddly related since they both resolved at the same time. I will continue my testing to see if anything else crops up. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the update Michel. All the issues I experienced with the backlighting started at the same time as the buttons (aka scenes) not updating properly. The system has been in place for 6 months with none of these issues before the updated firmware. (I updated for IO Linc control). Hopefully it all come (back)together after the next release.

I too have 3 8 Button KPL v40 that do not work properly since 3.3.6. When pressing the "H" button I get other buttons that also light. Additionally scene changes that are supposed to update the buttons do not work consistently anymore. Each KPL is different...nothing is exactly the same...but none of them work correctly. All my 6 button KPL's seem to be working properly...however some of my scenes are "inconsistent" with regards to updating the button status. It is hit or miss....very frustrating. Also as reported by others, I cannot get the backlighting to adjust.

I was having some intermittent issues on 3.3.5..I followed the path of 3.2.6 to 3.3.3 and each step from there. I noticed a few strange issues on these keypads however I thought it was due to noise...I have since removed the fans from the equation and the strangeness grows.. Please see the original post, I added a few more details as well.

After upgrading to 3.3.6 all of my 8 Button v.40 KeypadLincs are "freaking out". I have reset the devices and restored, I also just removed the devices, readded and manually recreated all the links/programming. On all 3 of the devices, when I press button H, other buttons also turn on. Keypad 1 - Press H, BCD turn on, Keypad 2 - Press H, BCDE turn on, Keypad 3 - Press H, B also comes on. I have no idea why this is happening...I cannot make logical sense out of it. The 3 keypadlincs are not controlling the same devices...some overlap but only via a scene (which I also rebuilt). I also cannot seem to adjust the backlighting on these devices. Any insight would be appreciated.
