I may be wrong about this but I think the echo or dot will have a green ring telling you there is a notification and you will need to ask it to give you the notifications. Not really very good for telling you the front door is open.

Where is this forget all button??? Thanks

I also see the original devices. How can I delete all the devices and rediscover?
-
Glad to hear I’m not the only one. Unfortunately when it gets fixed and works per there documentation it will be very limited. Only one group per device.
-
Each Alexa device can be assigned to only one group. You than can use that device to turn on or off only that group assigned to it by saying turn lights on or off. This makes the whole thing very limited. The other problem is that I can’t get it to work. Maybe I’m missing something.

The latest update lets you assign a Alexa device to a group. The problem is each Alexa device can only be assigned to one group. Unless I’m missing something this is very disappointing.
-
I have no issues with the grouping.

That’s great. This will make things much better.

How will the the entertainment skill work. Will it work with any smart tv or only models that support it?
-
Is there a list of the new features somewhere?
-
This is cool I can be in the bedroom and say Alexa drop in on the kitchen and it connects to the kitchen dot.
-
What are the differences?
-
Is there any step by step instructions on how to this? Thanks

Echo Dot Stops Responding - New Mystery Devices Showing in Alexa App
Paulk8 replied to hbskisurf's topic in Amazon Echo
Same problem -
If you have multiple accounts the dots can be registered to any of them. You can then switch between accounts by saying switch accounts but that does not change to witch account the dot is registered to, only the account it's currently controlling. The ESP only works with the dots that are registered to the same account. Thus you can have 2 dots controlling the same account but registered to different accounts and the ESP will not work. I had 4 dots next to each other and the ESP works 100%.
-
Are both the dots registered to the same account? The dots can be on the same account but registered to different accounts and the ESP will not work.
-
New Dot is $50 but more importantly it will respond only from the closest one. Software update coming soon.

I was having the same problem. In the Alexa app I forgot all the devices and then rediscovered. Seems everything is back to normal -
Echo stopped working. In the portal it said the ISY has been off line since 3 am this morning.. Any ideas how to fix this Thanks Paul

In Simple control you can set a trigger to watch a insteon device. I use a lamplinc. Lets say I want to turn on a lighting scene in ISY, set the hue lights to a specific color, turn on the tv, set the reciver input. You can easily make a activity in simple controle to do all this. Set a trigger in simple control to watch the lamplinc and run the activity when the lamplinc is set to 40% for example. All you need to do in ISY is make a program that turns the lamplinc to 40% and a few seconds later turns it off. You can use echo and the ISY connected home feature to control all your simple control activities and there is no need for the simple control skill.

If you don't want to you the simple control skill you can just use isy connected home to trigger the simple control scenes.

Use roomie triggers. You will need to purchase there hub or run the sync software on a Mac mini but this is a very easy solution that works well.
