  1. It's not the first but the fifth time I had to disable a lamp device in Alexa app to stop her hunches to try to turn off a lamp in my house and then suddenly she (or something else) turn that lamp on instead. When I search the Logs, I can only see the Insteon device location followed by a simple "Error" and the log type Log is followed by another log type -2. When checking the isy.io eventlog, I found the following: 32 A2 72 1 ERR 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000002023/10/06 00:48:50 System 5 32 A2 72 1 2023/10/06 00:48:50 System -2 I've opened a support ticket and they told me Alexa sent the command correctly, but they told me Alexa sent the command correctly but "something" when wrong and Alexa canceled the action. When I look into Alexa app for hunches, I can see that indeed it is not asking me if she did it correctly or not, but a Cancelled status. In cases like this, Amazon is telling me that the fault was due to the device (this case IO portal). Does anyone experienced this issue?
  2. Thanks for the response @MrBill.. I opened a ticket and Michael fast answered and fixed my backup. He found a huge Windows directory which was probably part of my efforts in the past to have a dashboard on ISY. I think I create a topic here many years ago talking about the process and I left it running even after move to Grafana/InfluxDB, so I think I was guilty. I couldn't login using the port 22 or 126.. I don't have telnet, but should open using Putty anyway.. Well, the only think I can say for now is thank you and special thanks to Michael for supporting me. I'm definitely decided to move to eisy as soon as I have change to travel to US again because here in Brazil we don't have ways to bring this device through standard carriers. Cheers Sandry Seibert
  3. Hello community, I can't believe I tried to upgrade something that was working for so long just to connect an app, but I did that and the result was tragic. After update following the instructions with care I noticed the Zwave devices were not working. The Zwave 300 series which I have here used to report the firmware 4.55 and some version of the bootloader, however the bootloader start to show 0.00. I then tried to remove and add back my Schlage Lock and it almost worked showing the lock status but not the buttons to Lock and Unlock. So I had the brilliant idea to reset the Zwave dongle and redo the Zwave network, so I removed some devices and did the factory reset. After factory reset I noticed the Dongle were no longer responsive and I tried to restore the 4.9 backup which gaves me the Socket timeout error after show the error "Upgrade Failed: Failed uploading file (reported written size is invalid)". Doing the basis, research and try on my own to resolve the issue I found people stating it's probably an SD error, so I swapped to a new one and tried to restore, but keeps showing the error and what's most strange is that it's not happening on the same file. I mean, when you start the restore procedure you can see which file is being copied and it randomly stops in different stages, sometimes when copying a XML, sometimes other files... I already checked my firewall is off, my network isn't dropping any package even tried to direct connect to the ISY without using my LAN. Is there any way to extract the backup content directly to the SD card? I also noticed I can't use Putty to connect to the ISY, the port 126 is unresponsive. Thanks for some help
  4. Thanks @larryllix.. Here's what I've done: Added a program that will write 1 to the variable when ON, wait 10 seconds. Else will write 0. On the ISY portal I created a Device\Motion Sensor to react to spoken Front Door.. Lets test it..
  5. Hey @larryllixthanks for clarify.. 1. Ok, got it and I found the routine creation. I created a routine that will be triggered when I say Check front door. But now I have to state what action will be taken. I tried to find my program there without sucess. 2. Super clear simple. 3. I went to my ISY portal but I can't find any conversion table. There I have ISY, Users and My Account. Under ISY I have tools where I added the Amazon Echo sensor check that's giving me the strange response. Once again thank you for kindly guide me.
  6. @bmercier 1. What is a routine in this case? 2. And else statement of itself? 3. How do I expose a variable as a sensor? Thanks Sandry Seibert
  7. Hi @MrBill, It is showing "OFF" or "ON".. It's an Insteon Open/Close sensor. Alexa tells me it is Inactive when OFF and Active when ON. Cheers Sandry Seibert
  8. Hi all, I just noticed this feature for ISY and I installed here, but one thing I couldn't find a response for is if there is a way to customize the response Alexa give me.. For example, I setup the door sensor as a Front Door Open/Close syntax and now when I ask "Alexa how is the front door" or "Alexa what's the status of our front door" she responds "The device state of front door is inactive" and this response is by far confusing to my wife lol. So, how can I improve such response in order to have something like this to become the most simple "The front door is closed"? Thanks Sandry Seibert
  9. @IT Solutions, I live on a house made entirely by brick and concrete walls and I had the exactly same issue as you. On my case I solved the communication issue by having a repeater installed on my roof close to every single door of my house. But that's not all, after configure my devices which of course I did it close to ISY, I noticed that the devices couldn't reach my ISY even if I leave it close to a repeater that I know is working. Only after play a lot I figure that I have to use the Heal Z-Wave to make sure the repeater is waiting for that node. Once I got them all working I never played anymore. Another thing that helps a lot is to power the battery devices through USB instead of use battery. All powered devices also become a repeater if you add them to your network powered through its USB port. Sandry
  10. Oh man.. I think I'm getting old.. How could I not see the dropdown!!!!
  11. Hey all, Is there a way to disable the DSL manually? Brazil will not have DSL anymore and I can't remove this rule which is changing time on my ISY. Thanks Sandry
  12. Hey Techman, Thanks for reply, when I saw your message about the ISY reverting back the email I thought it maybe also reverted back the user and password and it was exactly this. For some reason on a recent power outage my ISY reset everything except the configuration. I mean, user and password, also the email notification account parameters and even the clock returned to its factory default. I don't remember if ISY has an internal battery. If this thing happen again I'll need to open it and find out. Cheers Sandry Seibert
  13. Hello all, I noticed that recently instead of receive emails from my own email server I start to receive it from "alerts@universal-devices.com" instead. So I decided to check the email configuration and I could not connect to my ISY, it states Failed, Retry Authenticating ISY. Is that possible for someone to get into my ISY if the Internet Access option is disabled? Last time I accessed it was last week. Thanks Sandry Seibert
  14. Thank you so much for clarifying Brian. I'll make sure I'm getting this model. Purchase things from US to have it delivered in Brazil is kinda nightmare, I have to be accurate otherwise will cost me more money.
  15. Thanks for the tip. I got a response from them the current version is 2.3 and to be sure I'll get the latest I have to buy from Amazon fullfilment
  16. Thanks Larryllix.. Indeed I already fixed this unit twice.. Now it's completely dead even replacing all the capacitors on the board
  17. Outh! Many programs rely on the redundancy between Insteon and zWave. For instance I have my heater exchange controlled by either a Insteon relay and a zWave relay. My door lock automatically based on an Insteon door/window switch that is easy to set its status as always closed in order to bypass the door status I've added to that specific program. What will happen to these programs that has Insteon in it?
  18. Hi all, A couple of weeks ago my PLM failed and it's hard to find one here in Brazil, so I decided to wait someone I know to go to US and bring a new one for me. The problem now is that I had a power outage and consequently my ISY rebooted and get stuck into a "Safe Mode" operation that I couldn't find any information on how to bypass this thing. Basically my house is a mix of Insteon and zWave devices and everything except Insteon was working till this safe mode been activated and now all my programs stopped including some essentials like my heater and water pump which was redundant between Insteon and zWave network. Can someone kindly describe how to exit this Safe Mode to let my programs to run again? Thank you so much Sandry Seibert
  19. I don't have any Python3 skill.. I did something weird but reliable and far easier using NodeRed which is now managing all my dashboards. NodeRed have a node to read Modbus, so it's straight forward. And also have the ability to put data on ISY. I mean weird because all my dashboards pull data from ISY and some incompatible equipment have its data converted on the dashboard then I send it to ISY for long term storage. Python looks easy, but it's another language to mess up my brain
  20. Yes, it does support Modbus and I already installed a RS485 to TCP/IP modbus converter... I can read each address using ModScan. Can ISY read Modbus? Thank you Paul, I'll give a try. Have to be honest I'm becoming a little tired on learn so many different languages
  21. I have an inverter from Fronius model Primo and it has an option to post data through http, however I don't have a single idea on how all this data can be separated on ISY.. Can someone give me an idea o how to handle such data? On Fronius datalogger manual I see two different ways to send data, one is JSON and another one looks to be ID tagged.. Example: { "Head" : { "RequestArguments" : {}, "Status" : { "Code" : 0, "Reason" : "", "UserMessage" : "" }, "Timestamp" : "2014-12-10T11:12:56+01:00" }, "Body" : { "Data" : { "1" : { "DT" : 123, "PVPower" : 8200, "Show" : 1, "UniqueID" : "476", "ErrorCode" : 0, "StatusCode" : 7, "CustomName" : "" } } } } OR <?xml version="1.0"?> -<SunSpecData v="1"> -<d t="2017-08-08T17:19:20+02:00" sn="262810007xxxxxxxx" mod="Fronius Primo 6.0-x" man="Fronius"> -<m id="1"> <p id="Mn">Fronius</p> <p id="Md">Fronius Primo 6.0-1</p> <p id="Vr">0.x.25.x</p> <p id="SN">262810007xxxxxxxx</p> <p id="DA">1</p> </m> -<m id="111"> <p id="W">3065.000000</p> <p id="Wh">14111069.000000</p> <p id="St">4</p> <p id="I_AC_CurrentA">13.570000</p> <p id="I_AC_VoltageA">227.300003</p> <p id="Hz">50.009998</p> <p id="DCA">10.070000</p> <p id="DCV">315.200012</p> </m> </d>
  22. Thank you for the APP... It's working well here.. Very good for fast tasks, super easy to enable and disable programs. Cool!
  23. Quite uncommon report.. I never restored my ISY since I bough it in 2012. Regarding the ZWxxx enumeration, I agree it's quite annoying specially when you have a LOT of network parameters using the data location and after remove and add it again you can't simply maintain the number. As Mike said, it's a characteristic away from their control. For fixing this I did a factory reset on my dongle and start over using a recipe I wrote for my Z network.
  24. I'm using several Aeotec Gen5, not only a motion detection, but environmental condition monitor, however they sometimes fail to report motion, I see the motion LED triggered, but my Zwave network don't show any message. So for specific locations I've opted to use the Insteon which is a lot more reliable and don't send replays. I didn't noticed any failed message from my Insteon for the 2yrs I'm using them, also they don't cause the ghost phenomenon or replay message (replay mean to send the command twice or even three times).
  25. So far, this is what I have for now.. A fleet data on a single page. I'm now working with some Wemos IoT devices, I'm adding IoT to almost all appliance that make sense like air conditioning, refrigerator, laundry machine..
