  1. Oh cool on the first post. Oh dang on the second. I was able to pick up a Wincort 6 in 1 last week, but it's profile isn't as flat.
  2. Also could you share where you got your NOYITO TTL to RS232 Module TTL RS232 Mutual Conversion Module Serial Level Conversion to SP232 TTL Serial Port communicates with RS232 Level Device from. Thanks
  3. Nice backpack. Where'd you get the enclosure? Can't wait to see/read the further instructions on the build.
  4. Glad I lead with...this may be a really goofy question. I'm obviously not an EE. Ha
  5. I'm reading up on the modems themselves. The attached is old enough to definitely be outdated but it does give a conceptual view of their basic design flow and function. INSTEON_Modem_Developer's_Guide_20071012a.pdf
  6. Ok this may be a really goofy question (I'm sometimes prone to those) but... Would it be possible to take your generic Pi and do the signal throughput within the Pi itself? (ie. connect Port A of the isy to the ethernet connection, and do some python or other magic inside the Pi to switch to wifi LAN and output the signal on the ethernet port to the usb connection)
  7. Excellent point! The optimal work around solution for the time being than seems to be the raspberry pi bridge with either a usb rf stick or a usb plm. Personally I think this “ chip shortage” is part real and part BS…like the gas shortages of the 70s…. but we have to play the cards being dealt.
  8. Just wanted to make sure that it is a straight up swap and didn’t/doesn’t require any other procedures. I have the Pi version of the workaround installed as well….as options go. Just need to move my Pi setup closer to the ISY and PLM. Thanks for the quick reply.
  9. Excuse the rehash and I’m sure there’s a very good reason why not but…if you had a bad 2413S and bought a 2413U couldn’t you just swap out the main board versus replacing capacitors? Seems from what I’ve read that that’s the part that fails.
  10. I put in a support ticket. We'll see what happens.... I have a back up isy. I just want to get this one back up as well.
  11. The error was: Upgrade failed. Invalid system configuration file Should I try another factory reset before opening a ticket?
  12. After my initial factory reset i upgraded using this version of 5.0.16C (ISY 994i Series including Z-Wave support). From there I have a blank console with no devices. From your post I reset the dongle. Now that I've reset the dongle an attempted upgrade of the firmware. It resulted in "Can't enter into programming mode" during the upgrade and "ZWave 15 Upgrade Z-Wave Firmware" Command failed. The Zwave version currently showing is 4.55.00 I realized that the highest I can go on this box is 5.0.16C. The back up is from 5.0.14. Should I reset the dongle again than re-factory rest the isy?
  13. Long story short...I F'd up. Had to reset my isy. Its an older version with a ZW daughter board I put in. I went from factory to 5...16C after the reset than tried to apply my backup 5...14. I have two backup files. They both had the same error. I choose the first file when upgrading.
  14. I was able to get my ISY back up using a reset followed by and upgrade. I went to restore all my devices and I get an error message: Upgrade failed. Invalid system configuration file. Anyone know what this means and/or how to get around/solve it?
  15. Excellent! I ordered a Witmotion 6 in 1 and the RJ45 adapter. Can’t wait to put this bad boy together. thanks for all the work you put into it!
  16. Since I’ll be dual purposing a Pi4 with this build…how did/does the cpu overhead on the zero look while it’s running?
  17. Well that’s embarrassing… Does the Witmotion 6 in 1 work reasonably well? The board you guys ended up using doesn’t look like it’s available anymore on Amazon. I noticed @MrWorf used that in his initial testing.
  18. Do you have the link to that post?
  19. One last question....Will this procedure work with a 2413U?
  20. Thanks! I had a little time on my hands when we went into lock down last year and my son-in-law has a 3d printer. Spent a little time in freecad, a little specing of 5 port switches, power supplies, and the blades (which can take a range of voltages!) and wala!
  21. Yeah, I'm pretty cheap too! Ha. I have a Pi dedicated to Polyglot. I was thinking of dual purposing that as both Polyglot and PLM. I have my Pi's in a 3D printed enclosure that's my server farm. 3Pi's on two bitscope blades. Power supply and ethernet switch onboard. The blades are an uno and a duo so I have a spot for a hat. I also have a little spare room upstairs, as we say, on the blade side. Hmmmmm....You have me thinking!
  22. I am very interested in this project. Anything new since July? I "think" you used a pi zero due to it's size. Would a pi4 work as well?
  23. Do you have the link to the converter thread? I'd like to have a look. I searched for it but I didn't see it Back in the day when Polyglot came out some pure genius wrote a program for the RPi. The RPi has USB connectors. I'm sure it's a ton of work/trouble, and would involve modification to the ISY programming, but has anyone tinkered with the idea of using the ISY's ethernet to back channel the commands to an RPi and have the RPi forward thru the USB port?
