Here's the link to the original notification: https://www.universal-devices.com/byebyeclimatemodule/ Short answer is using one of the many weather Polyglots. Here's another link discussing options: https://www.universal-devices.com/whichone/

@asbril Thanks for the write up on this. I was considering replacing two switches for my deck fan which I installed last year. But the lack of fan speed control is likely a deal breaker.

Can Alexa use a timer to turn off an ISY light?
DaveStLou replied to RichTJ99's topic in Amazon Echo
Alexa won't turn off light after a delay but she will run an ISY program with a 30 minute wait statement followed by a command to turn off the light. We use a similar program to turn off our attic fan 2 hours after we go to bed in the summer time. -
As of approximately 16:00 UTC, April 5, 2020, I am able to login to https://polyglot.isy.io/dashboard

There's an article on the wiki using Alexa routines: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY_Portal_Amazon_Echo_Integration_V3#ISY_Can_Talk_To_You.21_.28Alexa_Routines.29

Wanting to control scene when telling Alexa to play or pause movie

So true. -
Wanting to control scene when telling Alexa to play or pause movie
DaveStLou replied to andrew77's topic in Amazon Echo
I have 4 Harmony hubs and control them using the Harmony Hub Polyglot Node Server. I then set up several AV devices using the ISY Portal to connect the programs to Alexa. So I am able to say "Alexa, turn on Living Room Tablo" (which turns down my living room lights) or "Alexa, turn on Game Room YouTubeTV", etc. So I know Alexa can handle what you're trying to do and much more. @andrew77 You may not need to change your set up to something like mine to get it to work. You may want to just simplify the name. What happens if you change the name to just "Downstairs TV" and "Upstairs TV"? I found that mine worked better if they were simple and the room or location came before the device name. Play around with different names until you find something that works. If that doesn't work, it may be the Harmony Alexa Skill just isn't up to the task. I highly recommend the Harmony Hub Polyglot. -
Update the firmware first and then the admin console.

Lesson I learned from someone else on the forum after experiencing more than one of these (for different reasons) - I have a state variable called "s.Programs.Run" that is normally set to 1 that I use as a kill switch. I've set it as a condition at the top of My Program folder. When things go bad, I can usually eventually get it to stop by changing the variable to 0 through Agave. Alternately, a spare switch or other device could be used to trigger a program that sets the variable to 0.

I have several I use without noticeable delay. Coffee is ready general announcement and notification Set all of the Echo devices to Do Not Disturb at night Play one of 5 randomized announcements welcoming my wife and me home Turn on Guard mode

Alexa routine can now turn on Guard (spoiler, can't turn it off)
DaveStLou replied to TexMike's topic in Amazon Echo
Having the ability to turn it on with ISY is great. Given the inane inability to turn it off (I saw a Alexa forum entry saying it was a security risk to provide that function - huh?), I'm trying to figure out a way to remind my wife it's on when she comes home before me. My devices no longer display the swirling yellow ring when Guard is active, so it's only apparent on my phone notifications. -
Presence is the other issue I was digging into. I'd appreciate it if you'd PM me the changes to Presence-Poly.py. I supposed then I can use that in lieu of the Ping nodeserver.

I can't figure out why something as simple Ping nodeserver would have different behavior on my Polisy than when running on my Rpi. I have both configured to ping Google. On the Polisy version it shows "In-Fault" for that node but shows properly as "On Network" running on my RPi. I looked for a Ping nodeserver topic under Polyglot to post this but couldn't find one. Probably because it just works. Thoughts? Edit: I found this in the Polisy Polyglot log - "2019-11-11 14:40:48 [polyglot] error: NSChild STDERR: Ping: sh: ping: not found"
-
Interesting I have the WeatherPoly (similar to Meteobridge) and AVRemote amongst others.

@Michel Kohanim Emailed log.

Hmmm. I'm also observing similar behavior in the Ping nodeserver. This from that nodeserver's log: 2019-11-06 13:02:06,858 [Interface ] [INFO ] Sent Connected message to Polyglot 2019-11-06 13:02:07,590 [Interface ] [INFO ] MQTT Connected with result code 0 (Success) 2019-11-06 13:02:07,592 [Interface ] [INFO ] MQTT Subscribing to topic: udi/polyglot/ns/1 - MID: 183 Result: 0 2019-11-06 13:02:07,593 [Interface ] [INFO ] MQTT Unexpected disconnection. I've observered that MQTTS client disconnects and connects over and over again in the Polyglot logs as frequently as once every second. 2019-11-6 11:29:13 [polyglot] info: MQTTS: Client Disconnected: 2019-11-6 11:29:13 [polyglot] info: MQTTS: Client Connected: I stopped my AVRemote nodeserver and the behavior stopped. This wasn't happening prior to migrating. Would that indicate it's a nodeserver issue or a Polyglot issue?
-
I was able to get my nodeservers all migrated to Polisy. With only a couple of issues (once I got past the login snafu): HarmonyHub - Required manual copy of the yaml and hubs.json files as @Jimbo has noted. HolidaysGoogle - I needed to re-authenticate wtih Google. WeatherPoly - I had to point my CumulusMx custom http url to the polisy IP the nodeserver can see the data there. Presence-Poly is complaining about about the missing bluetooth module as others have noted. Once I get that resolved, I will be back to normal.
-
@Michel Kohanim Thank you. That must have cleared the default user too. I'm now getting "User not found" for admin.
-
@Michel Kohanim Since I have nothing configured on Polisy, is there a way to reset the password (or all Polyglot) back to default? I'm not able to do anything at this point. Thank you.
-
No. I had logged in earlier in the week but hadn't configured anything due of lack of time. I remember going to the screen to configure what I thought was the ISY password but didn't change anything as far as I know.
-
Hi all, I've been out with work all week and anxious to get started. I'm in through ssh and I've completed the updates, In the browser though, trying to get to Polyglot, using the default user and password I am getting this error: Is there a command I can run via ssh to reset the password back to default?

@carealtor Could you elaborate or point me to a thread about controlling ISY devices via the Hue Emulator? FYI I have no Hue devices.
-
Ah, that makes sense. Outside of the general name "light", each device must have a unique name for Alexa to find. Thanks for the clarification.
