I had a lot of trouble with the ZXT-120 and the instruction is confusing and its operation convoluted. It is now superceded by the 600 model. I do not know how the new model works. My main problem is that the ZXT-120 does not fully support my AC. The most control you get with many window ACs is simply an on/off toggle. But you get no status of the AC and when the AC is running and ISY sents another command to turn on the unit it actually will toggle it off. I solved the status problem with and energy meter. I have another AC unit which I can turn on/off with an outlet module. But the other AC does not resume cooling after the power's been cut. For me the ZXT-120 was the only game in town and I got it finally working. The energy meter is part of a power switch: Zooz Z-Wave Plus Power Switch ZEN15.

I could not find any working IR code and therefore had to resort to the learning mode. But I figured it out and indeed as you said I do not have to use two sets of instructions but one will work perfectly. Below is the setup that works: Just one program for on and another for off...
-
@ larryllix: the AC is LP0910WNR... in order to add a hardwired thermostat that responds to ISY commands I would have to soder it into the control panel... that is above my skill level. @apostolakisl: As I described the setup I must admit that it is confusing. I did not mention two additional off programs similiar to the on programs that I posted. That whole setup is hilarius and running it puts the AC into a 737 MAX death spiral. My aim is to turn the AC on/off using the ZXT-120 controler. The AC reponds only to a mode change input of either cool or off. The problem is that either mode input only simply toggles the AC on or off. In other words "cool" turns the AC on if the unit was off and "cool" turns the AC off if the unit was on. But I think I have an idea and I wonder whether a "cool" or "off" command can be executed twice...

I want to control my AC unit automatically with ISY and thermostat settings: I have an IR bridge that I can control with ISY and a thermostat but it can only toggle the AC power on/off without indicating the actual AC unit status: In other words "on" may turn the AC on or at the same time it may turn it off. The same with "off" where "off" may actually toggle the AC on... But I also have an energy meter and the wattage will indicate the AC on/off status: <50watts the AC is off and >50watts the AC is on... I tried programing something using the energy status as a condition but it ended up in a loop and the AC continuously cycled on/off... Any ideas? below is my programing attempt that hilariously took my AC for a loop de loop...

Personally I am mainly interested in GH for the voice commands. I still use Mobilinc basic and udajax with port forwarding.
-
if you first add it in the portal it will show in GH app but when I added a program in the portal I cannot save it as program in GH. But I can save it as a switch and the the program is listed in GH as a switch and I can run it as "on". I admit that this workaround is unsatisfying: GH app is OK for devices mainly... There is always the udajax which is free and with port forwarding it is also remotely accessible.

My Google Home app running on Pixel phone with Android Pie (v9) does show the device statuses. thermostat show the ambient and set temperatures, dimmers show the percentages, switches show the on/off statuses, etc. In my opinion, GH app paired with the ISY Portal provides a complete App. (I monitor my security videos and alerts in a separate app...) there might be missing geo fencing neither would it show temperature from motion detector which does show in isy udajax
-
@ Jimbo: make sure you have assigned your devices to a house and a room in the GH app...
-
perhaps because I use port forwarding and web address... But I am not sure: the isy portal and GH are synced and GH app is always accessible... and the isy portal communicates by MAC address... remote should work for all ???
-
mine works remotely... isy portal & polyglot & GH... what more do you need?
-
It seems that GH is supplanting Mobilinc for Android phones...

I am referring to Google Home App. I do not doubt that it worked for you but I am suggesting that the Google Home App for Android 9 on Pixel phone might be different: Do you have Android 9 on your Samsung Galaxy S9? The installation was slightly different from what is illustrated on the ISY Wiki ( https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY_Portal_Google_Home_Integration ) The + device option only became available after I had installed the Mini and indeed the installation of the Mini was virtually automatic and differed substantially from the Wiki. It even configured the WiFi automatically including the WiFi key!!!! Even though the key is encrypted Google does know the key!!!! Edit: the installation of the Mini commenced virtually automatically as soon as the Mini device booted up: Only options were yes and continue...
-
@ nathagt: I have Android 9 on my phone and the GH App does not give you this option: No + device setting initially but once any GH device is added then you can add the UDI.
-
I only have the GH Mini which is voice only. But this device at least is needed for the initial setup in order to sync with our isy portal. Once this is setup our isy is fully integrated. You might be asking something else but in that case I do not know...

OK: Got my GH Mini and once plugged in the setup is almost automatic and straight forward. Once setup completed, the GH Mini needs not to be turned on and the phone assistant will execute all commands. The entire thing is very slick!

@larryllix: "install the skill"? is that not for Alexa? Yes, I have saved my spokens on the isy portal and I have attempted to sent spokens to Google Home only to get this error message: Error sending your spokens. Is Google Home linked with this user profile (xxx@gmail.com)? I am using the same account for both the portal and the Google Home

@nathagt: please tell me how you were able to add Universal Devices in the Google Home app? I see no option to add UD or any other device except it only allows me to scan for new devices and scan results in no devices found. I assume that once I add the Google Home Mini Assistant I then have the option to add Universal Devices.
-
Thanks! I am beginning to get the idea and when my Mini is set up I'll see this for myself: But apparently without an initial setup with at least one Mini, Google Home does not work...
-
it does seem that this will work only after a google home controller is added first. I have read that if both the phone and the home controller are present, only the controller will respond to OK Google and if away from the controller then the phone will respond and controls ISY... I bought a Mini on ebay and I'll see in a few days how it works...
-
actually I wonder whether it is possible to avoid google mini or any other controller and simply use phone alone... It seems that this is not possible... anyone has an opinion of preferring Amazon or Google?
-
when I try to upload spokens to google I get error message : Error sending your spokens. Is Google Home linked with this user profile (xxxxx@gmail.com)?
-
thanks for the replies! Yes I did assign spokens. I thought that isy portal would sync with google home which then in turn would be available in my Google Home app. At least I thought I could add Universal Devices in Google Home without first adding the Mini or other controller. Now larryllix highly recommends the Echo Dot: which is preferred, Google or Amazon?

I activated my isy portal, added device to my Google Home Connectivity, installed Google Home App and signed in with my google account: then when I try to add device it scans with no result and I have no option to add my Universal Devices... Do I need to buy at least a Google Mini controller/listening device? I was hoping that I could control simply by using my google assistant on my phone...
