CA Certificate Error Launching Admin Console
Under System Settings | General | Local Network, the IOX Launcher doesn't appear in the list, nor is there a visible way to add additional apps to the list. Not sure what the references to other posts are relevant - if I try launching start-8.jnlp, MacOS returns an error indicating that the app was not opened because Apple could not verify the file was free of malware.

CA Certificate Error Launching Admin Console
Hi Geddy, I'm running macOS Sequoia 15.3.2. It's not clear how one adds apps to the local area network access list as no controls are visible.

CA Certificate Error Launching Admin Console
Hi there, I have an ISY994i running the IoX Launcher on a Macbook. I tried launching the Launcher today and the Admin Console failed to start because of a certificate error. I don't understand the ins and outs of security certificates, self signed certificates. I tried reading the wiki pages about self signed certificates and it is above my pay grade. Does anyone know how to correct the issue easily to be able to launch the Admin Console? Thanks!

New PLM coming?
How do you know if you reached the limit for creating links? I have a simple scene with a Keypadlinc and Switchlinc where a Keypadlinc button and Switchlinc are both controllers, but somehow toggling the Switchlinc doesn't update the state of the Keypadlinc button. Another button on the Keypadlinc works just fine in a different scene where its state is updated based on the state of all the other controllers in the scene.

ZWave Energy Monitor Plug for 220v Loads
I want to write an automation script to notify me when my dryer load is completed. To do this, I think I'll need a plug for monitoring the load change on the dryer. Does anyone on this forum know a ZWave plug for this purpose that works with the ISY994? Or, if I'm barking up the wrong tree, is there a better way to accomplish this task?

Using a USB PLM in Place of a Serial PLM
Can you using a 2413U USB PLM with a USB to serial converter in place of a 2413S Serial PLM with either an ISY994 or eisy?

Out of my League with an ISY994i
I believe if you run the Airport Utility on your Macbook Pro, you can see your router and see all of its clients attached to it. You can look for the MAC address of your ISY to find its IP address and try manually adding it to the Launcher using the Add option.

i3 Devices
Just curious for those who have purchased i3 devices. How well are they working? They look very nice. Pros, cons? Do you think they're better quality overall, including the longevity of the electronics? I know that's not a question that can be answered until they been around for a couple of years. But I was wondering if these devices have risen from the poor build quality pool and they are reasonably reliable. You can only hope....

Recommended 4" recessed lights that don't flash with Insteon traffic
I think the easiest way to get the correct lights is to set up a test bench where you can connect a keypadlinc to a plug and run the load to the cans for test. There aren't any standards for dimmers and led lights to be compatible with each other, unless the manufacturer specifically tested it with their product. Of course, that usually means you are dealing with a well known product like Lutron and some large lighting manufacturer that has the $$$ to test specific dimmers like Lutron with it.

Should UDI push updates to customers?
Home Assistant seems to have a good model for this. If the update doesn't work, there appears to be a feature allowing rollbacks. I have no experience with that, as I have thankfully never had HA not comeback from an upgrade. But their model seems pretty sensible.

What happens when MyQ changes their API?
If you're concerned about the ramifications of using this node server, you can always use an IO Linc with your setup to generate the momentary contact necessary to open and close the gargage door, then use a door sensor to monitor if the garage door is open or not. I have a magnetic contact sensor mounted on the floor of my garage and the other component mounted to the door. Use a program to trigger the necessary contact to open and close the door and monitor the state of the sensor. This works pretty well.

Message from Insteon 2/14/2023
If you compare the new i3 devices to the existing Zigbee and ZWave offerings available, I doubt that Matter will take away from the sale of Insteon devices. All the ZWave devices I have seen look amateurish in their design. With the Zigbee devices, they seem to fall into two categories: really nice looking ones that have a touch sensitive display and then the really cheap ones. Nothing inbetween.

Does anyone who attended know when Ken said ISY will support the new I3 paddle, does this refer to ISY994i or just eISY/PoliSY?

SynchroLinc Dissapointment.
Read your post and tried to think out of the box here. Any possibility of taking one of the modules and giving it to another user for adding it to their system? That might confirm if the device is bad or if you have comm errors.

Node Server, Driver, or other support for Insteon Integration with Control4, RTI, Savant, Crestron, ELAN?
Have you looked into a device called Broadlink? Apparently a lot of people use it for IR functions. It sort of operates like a Harmony Hub, but is purportedly easier to deploy. They're reasonably priced too, available on sites like Amazon. I personally have not tried the Broadlink device since I have amassed a collection of Harmony Hubs over the years. But it would be a device I'd consider. In addition to IR support, it also supports RF.

Power Requirements eISY - Can I use a plugged in Power Bank
When using a UPS, is it a good idea to plug the UPS into a Filterlinc? This is presuming that the modem is not plugged into the UPS, but the eISY's power supply is.

Insteon Webinar - 1/06/2023
It seems like the response for existing companies with home automation products will be to produce a bridge that allows existing products made by a vendor to operate with Matter/Thread products. That is what I think most vendors will term their support for Matter/Thread. Another avenue a vendor can take is to just produce native Matter/Thread compliant products. Just go "all in". But this risks becoming a vendor known for making a commodity product indistinguishable from the next Matter/Thread vendor's product. The home automation vendor landscape has companies that make very unique products - Insteon with its dual band technology and formerly large product range. Yolink with the lo-ra technology advertising reliable device to device communication using low power and long range. I'm curious how vendors will try merging their unique technologies into products that support Matter/Thread beyond just employing a bridge type product. Maybe the answer is they won't.

The pros of a walled garden approach is that by limiting the selection of devices to a single vendor, you can contain the support required to help users and keep the costs reasonable. Open the door to the world outside that walled garden is risky for the walled garden vendor if they can't confirm that support for something outside the garden won't be a support nightmare and a major drain on resources. You can't be assured that some inconsistency a user experiences outside the walled garden won't be characterized as a poor reflection on the vendor's product and support. Matter is an alpha level product now and there are no real products on the marketplace that can qualify an answer to the support question. It makes sense for a vendor with limited resources to wait it out and let the bugs shake out before providing any support. Look at Z-Wave and how they kludged scene support in the third iteration of their standard. Three major revisions and it's still a kludge, by design!!! In this particular case, I think Insteon is far superior in the way it supports scenes. Someone who knows a lot about Matter can probably speak to some of this. The reality in the home automation landscape is that the people that get into it like to tinker and desire to mix and match. Perhaps support for this can be managed in a reasonable manner if manufacturers design protocols detailed enough to avoid technical support headaches. But the desire to bring to market inexpensive products in the hopes that you will get a good sales rate on those products can lead to a lot of variation in product quality. If one mixes some of those substandard products in their HA setup, it becomes crap from the average user's perspective. The oft used mantra that "it just works" is violated, much to the consternation of non-technical folks and to the glee of some technical users who I think believe having a working setup has to be earned. Have the time and energy to experiment. If something doesn't work, drop it and find the next product that might work.

Help diagnosing if LED lamp problem is the SwitchLinc
Seems like the easiest way to test the hypothesis is to swap out the Switchlinc relay and see how the existing bulbs last. I'd note the revision number of the 2477S and see if you can swap it out with a later revision.

Help diagnosing if LED lamp problem is the SwitchLinc
I think the original poster stated they're using a relay switch.

New Insteon Products
The Ra3 line is very nicely designed. Good design meets proper engineering. The best of all worlds, if you can afford it.

New Insteon Products
The i3 offering looks very clean and well designed. Something equating to products Apple might have offered if they produced switches and plugs. Nothing on the market I've seen so far looks as clean as this offering, other than maybe those touch sensitive display switches from one of the myriad of Chinese vendors out there. Another reason I personally would hesitate moving away from Insteon is the lack of nicely designed product. So much of what is out there looks amateurish in design. Z-Wave switches in particular are just awful in this respect. Head scratching proportions, supersize indicators that aren't to proper scale. How much does it cost for any of these major companies to hire a proper industrial designer?

Diagnostics Feature
While listening to the Insteon webinar about Insteon Technology's latest feature for reporting low battery status in their mobile app, the idea of a feature for checking for communications issues programmatically came to me. Basically, the idea is for the controller software to check communications between each node on a network with other nodes using the link table generated and to report back nodes and specific links that were problematic, communications-wise. I know that the ISY will report failures communicating to a specific node by putting an exclamation point next to the device having issues. It would be nice to be able to provide a little more information that might help someone figure out the root cause of the communcations failure and how to fix it. What do people think? Same idea for reporting devices and which phase they are on. Any way to determine this programmatically?

Insteon Webinar - 1/06/2023
I don't see how having no concrete plans to support Matter right now can be construed as being left behind. If the support for Matter/Thread is in the form of an updated hub product, I personally think that Insteon Technologies is doing absolutely the right thing now just getting product back in stock, providing support for mobile apps, and just getting back on their feet again. Matter is vaporware and there are no real products on the market currently that would support any demand or focus of precious resources to something like this.

Out of curiosity, what exactly would support for Matter and Thread look like as it relates to Insteon? I'm having a hard time visualizing what this would look like. Would it be support for Matter and Thread in an Insteon Hub? Would existing devices remain the same?
