  1. If you need a good isy integrated app, I love this, and use it with my ipad and android devices. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.linuxjet.apps.agave
  2. Thank goodness for the Agave app! Still can function without voice though….
  3. Worse than a power outage, what switches do what again? Hope it is back up soon.
  4. It looks like it heard it correctly.
  5. I try and use the change input command and this is what I've ran into. Any ideas on how I could get the input selection to work? I changed the names to eliminate any possible other issues. When I say "Alexa, change input to brick on dog" I don't know how to set dog to that setting. These settings working - Turn on|off : "Alexa turn <on|off> dog" Change volume : "Alexa, volume <up|down> on dog" Mute : "Alexa, <mute|unmute> on dog"
  6. Updated to 5.1 from RC1, and now I'm running into this after I've installed the admin.jpln from the device so I can launch into the ISY Admin Console directly. Using the http://myipaddres/admin.jpnl in the browser to download the install file locally I've go through the steps to upgrade, deleted my java cache and tried it again and it didn't work. It opens the app automatically after the initial installation is completed, but then upon exiting the app and then trying to launch it again I receive this message. Anyone else having this issue? 7. @bmercier I was hovering in the wrong spot, it showed up in chrome. ?
  8. @bmercier I think the tool tips might not be working for me as I don't see it when in the isy portal. Maybe it's currently broken? The help button is missing information about it. A/V Virtual Device is a feature available with the upcoming ISY Optimized for Smart Home V3. It allows to create virtual Alexa A/V devices that maps to a combination of ISY state variables, network resources and/or programs. Configuration tips: Create as many virtual A/V devices as you have physical A/V devices. Example; one for the TV, one for the Home theater, etc. All fields are optional. Under Basic, use either Set Channel To, or Channel Up/Channel Down, not both. Under Volume, you can use Set Volume To, Volume Up/Volume Down, or both. If you use both, use the same State Variable. When entering a State Variable value, you can specify an absolute value, or a delta by entering + or - before the number. This can be especially useful for the Volume Up/Volume Down. When you hover on a field label, you get an example of how to use it.
  9. @bmercier thank you kindly for the response! That is super helpful. Could you point me to the documentation on the command for input in the wiki? I don't see any reference to the input in the wiki or the help document in the isy portal. Is there a location with the updated docs on this? Best regards, Todd
  10. Is anyone having success with setting channels to using the isy portal? When I try the command listed in the wiki, reference below. "Alexa, set channel to <number> on <device>" Alexa set channel to 1 on kitchen speakers The response is kitchen speakers doesn't support that. Alexa set channel to brick on kitchen speakers The response is kitchen speakers doesn't support that. I've tried to set the input name to 1 and you get an error of "Input name must be between 2 and 10 characters." I've tried to set the input name to 11 and you get an error kitchen speakers doesn't support that. A/V Virtual Device is a feature available with the upcoming ISY Optimized for Smart Home V3. 11. I'm looking where these options are... I'm using 5.x. I'm not finding the place to change this- Is this a Pro version only option?
  12. I have 3 doors, that are all controlled by MYq. Hooked up to each door I have a 2421. When I have all three doors close at the same time, sometimes one of the 2421 doesn't pickup that it's closed. I've scratched my head on this, I've captured the events and here are the lines having to do with Door 2 and Door 3. Door 3 is the one I typically see the issue with. If it still shows open, if I open and close the door, it will update and show the correct state for door 3. Is there a limit to the amount of traffic that can happen before things are missed my the ISY994i? 13. This sounds allot what like I'm trying to do, and I've done the same with no load. We just recently finished the house, and we have no hardwired three ways switches, everything is done with 2477d's connected to load and then 2477d's with no load. Would you mind sharing some of what you've programmed? What triggers the execution of the change in mode?
  14. Ok, I've need to go look around for shortcuts to add multiple devices to a scene with an off attribute. Or how to set multiple items in a scene to on level off, so you don't have to do each one.
  15. Holy smokes! I can't believe I've been creating inverse scenes all this time!!!!! One scene for the lights I want on and one for the lights I want off. Ok this is going to simplify things once I figure this current issue out. I confess I remember reading about this, and people talking about complex scenes, but back then Insteon was new to me, and it was over my head when I first started.
  16. It does, but all of my devices are dual communication 2477D or 2477S, and all of them are close to each other. The enclosures in the wall that they are in are plastic. I've done a test for the PLM, and it is my second one that I replaced 5 years ago, so it's old, but no other symptoms are there.
  17. OK one more scene question. You can have a scene that when you turn the scene on -- Devices get turned on, on to a specific level, and TURN a DEVICE OFF?
  18. Thank you for the feedback. That is how I'm running my house as well. I have scenes for day toe kick lights, and night toe kick lights, set to different lighting and ramp levels. Is there a way you can have a scene control another scene, without using a program? The issue I'm running into is that it seems that some of switches in the same scene are out of sync, I've not been able to track it down what causes it. The complexity of the programs makes it quite the daunting task to reset everything and start over. That would take a couple of days to do that I believe. (The biggest problem it happens inconsistently.)
  19. Ok so I think I need to confirm my understands of scenes. I have a situation where light A is controlled by two 2477D dimmers, one dimmer controls the light, the other is just hooked up to power. To make those two dimmers act as a three way switch, I've added them to a scene (Scene A) and made them both a controller and responder. -- If a program triggers a switch that is a member of scene A both a controller and responder of scene A , the other members of the scene won't be effected. There is no way to query the status of a scene?? If I want to do this I have to query one of the switches that is a member of scene A When you have a program and you want to trigger light A, it is best practice to turn on scene A rather than turn on one of the switches directly?
  20. Yes those were at the end of the restore.
  21. @lilyoyo1 Thank you for the suggestion, I'll try that today and see how it performs tonight. Have you hear if there is any htop or task manager to see how much load the isy is under?
  22. Good afternoon @lilyoyo1 I think just about every type of need is in the house the bathroom toe light is a good example. I have toe kick lights in the master bathroom that are dim able. So during the day when there is motion in the bathroom, I turn the toe kick to 100%, at night I turn them to 15%, but if other lights are on in the bathroom, or one of the joining rooms lights are on then I turn it to 100%. I turn the toes lights off when the motion detector signals off which is at 45 seconds. BUT if the other lights in the bathroom are on, or on in the joining room, the toe kick lights don't get turned off until all of those other lights are turned off. I have similar situation in the master closest, which I control the light in the closet the same way I control the toe light in the master bathroom. I've had this working before with the state engine method of using variables, but it started to have a bit of a delay turning on. Which if it's dark, is the last thing you want when walking into the room. So in search of a more robust answer I've started trying the disabled programs, but now I'm not sure if the method is supported. I see the option to disable or enable a program and I can see a way to do this using that. It all comes down to trying to figure out what is the most robust, what puts the smallest load on the 994i, so motion triggered lights and other responses are as close to instant as possible.
  23. So I've seen the discussions about having many conditions in a program, and the problem with doing that. -If one of the conditions being evaluated changes the conditions are reevaluated. -If you have a number actions being executed, they will not complete if one of the conditions changes. So is the magic bullet using disabled programs? I've seen the logic around the state engine, which is more robust? Does running the second program that is disabled disconnect the step from the first program? https://miro.com/app/board/o9J_ks_AclY=/ Would it make more sense to break this out even more?

  25. Good evening, I've been trying to figure out some strange things happening, where the ISY thinks some insteon items are on, when it's off and off when it's on. I've not been able to reproduce these issues. My PLM is 2413s is a v2.1 1505 (built in 2015 5th week I believe) purchased in March of 2015. Soooooo.... is it time to replace it, or should I keep trying to track down these ghosts, or replace the PLM and see how it goes?
