  1. Wow, great response, I just saw this now Wes, I'll test it when I get a chance.
  2. Ok, I found a way around this. I just created a program that everytime that switch is turned off, it sets the on level back to 100%. However I noticed something else odd. When the device is off and I tell alexa to set or dim it to 50% it goes to full on first and I have to issue the command again. If the device is on first it dims to 50% on the first command. Why is that?
  3. I am using the mobilinc portal but it seems the same thing applies there. I have always been trying percentages not just set to dim (I don't know what that would result in) so I'll try it later.
  4. Thanks Wes, Well good to know at least that it is working as designed (did this ever change because I don't remember it being this way in my other house, in fact I'm almost certain it didn't as I used to use it in my bedroom all the time). I would strongly push for the dim not adjusting the ON level. To me if I want a specific light to have an on level less than 100% (like when I replaced my 6" incandescent cans with LEDs that were much too bright) the user should set that manually. But a temporary dim can be a completely dynamic request specific to that environment/needs at the time the command is given and shouldn't (IMO obviously) have a lasting effect.
  5. So normally if I have a single device, I just leave it as a scene and give it a voice name. However when you have multiple switches in a scene (a 3 way setup) how would you then also go about dimming? You can't dim a scene so then you have to create a different name for the specific device/switch and dim it specifically, but then the other switches/status is not in sync (don't reflect the on/dimmed status) What is the best way to handle this?
  6. Thanks Michel, does that mean they'll reply back here? Should I contact them directly? I wasn't sure if this was an Alexa issue, a mobilinc issue, a ISY issue...
  7. I am a long time ISY/Alexa/Insteon user but hadn't messed with it in a while after the initial setup in the old house. Now I've completely rebuilt the system at the new house and I'm running into an issue I don't remember. I am using 2477D switches, alexa, and mobilinc connect. I have a single device for my whole bedroom. The issue happens when I try to dim. If I say "turn on bedroom to 50%" or "Dim bedroom to 50%", it properly dims the light but ALSO changes the local on setting of the switch to 50%. I can watch this in the admin console. This means that if I later just turn off the light and then turn it back on, either locally or through alexa, it does to the last dimmed setting. I don't want that. I don't ever remember my old setup doing that before. What's going on?
  8. It seemed like it lost partial communication. I could still control all devices but I couldn't see programs, couldn't backup or upgrade the isy
  9. Nevermind. It just required a hard reboot. Everything is back to normal.
  10. And now after a reboot I can't access it at all. Ugh, any ideas?
  11. Well that didn't go very far. It says "Upgrade failed: Failed uploading file (reported written size is invalid)" Now what?
  12. I do have a 994i. I have tried clearing java and downloading the admin console again. I guess I'll try updating the firmware and see what happens.
  13. I am running firmware v.4.2.30 and same UI. Everything has been working pretty well but I just noticed in the admin console that I can no longer see my programs/email notifications etc. They are still on the ISY as I can see them and run them from Mobilinc and they run automatically but I no longer see any of them in the admin console. I also keep getting a read/agree to the license agreement every time I connect to the admin console. What the heck is going on and how do I get back adminstration of my programs/notifications?
  14. Got it.
  15. So if a program disables itself and is still executing the then loop it can't later in the same then loop re-enable itself?
  16. Duh, I tried doing exactly like that but all within the same program. I don't remember why it didn't work. What prevents this from being all one program. If a program command disables the program itself, does the program continue to run?
  17. I have a new motion sensor on the front porch connected to the light. It is set to occupancy mode and On only. What I want is if all of us are away, and the motion sensor is tripped, I want a notifcation every minute. I have everything except for the alert working like I want. How do I get it to alert me on the first trip and the wait a minute and then alert me again if there is still motion?
  18. In fairness mfbra is the one that posted the schematic. Hope this all helped.
  19. My point is, the micromodule has to be what is connected to the load otherwise you can never have both the modules and the switches control the load independently. It doesn't matter WHERE the devices are, but the load/output of the module HAS to go to the light directly.
  20. Not true at all. That is exactly were the module needs to be. LAST in line. The sense line is what allows the hard switches to control the micromodule. Essentially the 3 way circuit operates like it normally would but instead of the final LOAD wire going to the light, it tells the module if the switches are ON or OFF. Also regardless of what the switches are doing, if you send an Insteon command to turn the module on, it doesn't matter what the switches are set to at that time. You do not need 2 modules. What I have described is what the diagram posted above shows. The module in between the switches and the load.
  21. My initial thoughts are, the micromodule essentially needs to be installed between the load and the last switch. So you need to make sure the load wire of the module goes directly to the light, the line wire is connected to a true line/constant on, the neutral is connected, and the sense wire is connected to the "output" of the switch in the 3way circuit. The way you say you didn't install it in the middle switch makes me think maybe you installed it at the beginning of the circuit. I believe you should be using sense wire 1 (connected to the load "output" of the existing 3way switches) with 3-way toggle mode on.
  22. When I did my 3way circuit, I just installed 2 Switchlincs. One has no load connected (so it is just a controller) and the other is the actual controller connected to the loads. In order to do this I had to use the old runner to get a neutral to the distant switch. Then you just make both switched part of a scene with both as responders and controllers. Edit. Oh I just realized that you seem to be trying to do this without replacing the switches?
  23. I just did this with my new LV transformer. Mine actually has a plug inside the transformer box that plugs into an outlet within the same box (meant for this exact reason) so you can insert a timer/controller. Until I got my ISY/insteon setup running I had a cheap mechanical timer, but now I have a indoor on/off timer in the box.
  24. actually that's a great idea. Why can't I have a simple program that during the day sets then to 0/15 and at night to 1/15. This way I don't get the excessive back light during the day but get plenty of backlight and button readability at night.
  25. I'm not talking about different KPLs being configured differently. I'm talking about a change in behavior before and after I started messing with brightness on the KPLs. Maybe my 7.4s are acting different than previous versions. Let me put it this way. Right after I adjusted the backlight to 1/15, in the middle of the day my son went around and started trying to "turn off" all they lights because he thought the KPLs were showing all lights on. He was used to the way they used to look before I started messing with them.
