  1. Dang it! I tried what you described bgav, but it won't work for me. I'm using the Amazon app and I have tried it on the Prime Now app as well with no luck. Guess I'll have to wait after all. [emoji58] GT
  2. I want to thank you as well, richtempa. I have a 91 year young grand mother that can't hear the doorbell ring but has sharp vision and mind. She actually asked me why I couldn't make the lights flash when someone rings the doorbell! GT
  3. Thanks bgav! I am out of the country and thought I would miss out! Now I'm IN, thanks to you![emoji106][emoji16] GT
  4. You can only order by asking Alexa to order for you. GT
  5. Welcome bvag. You are correct in that you now have a capable controller with many many features present and more added all the time. You met Michel, so you already know what an involved in enter/ceo he is. The only thing left is to settle in, let everybody get to know you, and welcome to UDI forum! GT
  6. If these dots can call up a screen connection on the Nucleus, we are really on to something. GT
  7. Have any of you seen the new Echo Dot? Introducing Echo Dot Echo Dot uses the same far-field voice recognition as Echo and is a convenient addition to any room of the house. Directly connect Echo Dot to speakers with an audio cable or via Bluetooth, and add voice-control to your home stereo system. With its built-in speaker, you can place Dot in the bedroom and use it as a smart alarm clock that can also turn off your lights, or use Dot in the kitchen to easily set timers and add items to your shopping list using just your voice. Learn more about Echo Dot. Echo Dot is available for $89.99 in limited quantities exclusively for Prime members through Alexa Voice Shopping. Limit 1 per order, 2 per customer. To order your Echo Dot, just ask: I will be buying 2 and let you know how my home echo network expansion works out. GT
  8. After their initial difficulties, nearly everyone says the same thing Pascal. It is indeed a powerful little box.[emoji106] You have now also met that powerful little boxes creator, Michel Kohanim. Yes, he personally answers messages and emails. We have yet to see him fail to take interest and help anyone on this forum. He is a singularly dedicated individual. There are lots of others on this forum that will help anyone as well, lurker and poster alike. Welcome. GT
  9. I have around 20 of the Cree 100 watt A19 (standard lightbulb type) and 4 of the BR30 recessed can type. I've found that what makes a difference is dimming. If you're dimming them regularly, you will get more frequent failures. I've had 2 of the recessed type go out and two of the A19 go out within 6 months and on dimmers. The good thing is, Cree does stand behind the, provided you have the receipt. If the place where you bought them won't do a warranty exchange without a receipt, I suggest buying a few more for your home and using THAT receipt to get them replaced. I've done that once myself due to a lost receipt. Hey, it's my money. I just make sure and don't misplace receipts anymore. Good luck. GT
  10. Yes, it does seem quite convoluted and egg headed. However, what we are witnessing is the evolution of a new format with which to control our HA through the isy. Hopefully. As you read through, as did I, you realize that this topic discussion are for the much more, shall we say, dexterous when it comes to programming and coding. I read and watch and sometimes get a chuckle, but I pretty much watch and try to learn. Once it progresses to a certain tipping point, then code will already be there along with pre-developed uses and parameters. I'm not going to pull my hair out needlessly. Neither should you. As the old saying goes, "ACHTUNG! ALLES TURISTEN UND NONTEKNISCHEN LOOKENPEEPERS! DAS KOMPUTERMASCHINE IST NICHT FÜR DER GEFINGERPOKEN UND MITTENGRABEN! ODERWISE IST EASY TO SCHNAPPEN DER SPRINGENWERK, BLOWENFUSEN UND POPPENCORKEN MIT SPITZENSPARKEN. IST NICHT FÜR GEWERKEN BEI DUMMKOPFEN. DER RUBBERNECKEN SIGHTSEEREN KEEPEN DAS COTTONPICKEN HÄNDER IN DAS POCKETS MUSS. ZO RELAXEN UND WATSCHEN DER ZO RELAXEN UND WATSCHEN DER BLINKENLICHTEN."!! GT
  11. "For me I won't lose any sleep over this because there is a higher possibility of me getting struck by a meteor in this hick town than some random person coming down my street waiting to capture and turn on/off my lights. " You say that now, but wait till a redneck makes your lights start strobing at 2am! [emoji341] (YouTube-Hayseed Dixie) GT
  12. That explains much of my missing hair right there =:-l GT
  13. Would it be possible to get a bunch of Amazon Dash buttons, and use a proxy like Squid to redirect the HTTP request when the button is pressed to whatever URL you want. Tie them in with the Echo and use them as light switches maybe? GT
