I must agree with these comments. I've had several issues on network, mostly self inflicted, and Michel personally or one of his team has contacted me and sorted my issues out. One cannot but marvel at this selfless man and his company. We wish you much success in the future Michel, and eagerly await developments and/or your new products. New Installation - Philips Hue / Insteon-ZWave Switches/Dimmer Combos??
Guitartexan01 replied to ferdies's topic in ISY994
I have an is you with zwave module and all zwave switches and I love it. It's been rock solid for me for 2 years now. I don't use the Elk so cannot comment. Most of what you want to do can be done though with is you and Echo. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
Smarthome SELECT Electronic Water Shutoff Valve, 3/4-inch, 12V DC

It would seem to me that an ideal solution would be Colonel Klinks voice in the shower telling them they have two more minutes and then a zwave water valve (rated for hot water) closing the hot water supply to that shower. They can still take longer showers, just not hot. Wait fifteen minutes and the valve reopens automatically. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -

If I could get it to scream at me in a vaguely German accent I could call it "Colonel Klink". Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
Have you all seen this item? https://nucleuslife.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/signin It looks like it may make the perfect wall mounted of table remote or UI. GT

Hello guys. Please direct me to the thread about how to enable 2-3 Echos or Dots in one house. I know I've seen it but I now cannot locate the thread. Thanks![emoji3][emoji106] GT

Welcome to the isy UD forum. You have had the common and yet extraordinary experience most of us here have had: exposure to and assistance from an inventor and company owner that really does care about his products and the people that use his products. Michel Kohanim is one of the rare gentlemen of the world that have and take great care of his responsibilities to the public. Were that our leaders did the same! GT

Electrical Gang Box gets hot with 3 Insteon Switches! Normal?
Guitartexan01 replied to GDavis01's topic in ISY994
It is rare to hear someone speak so correctly about air conditioning. You're not actually making anything cooler, just moving heat around. Many people do not know this. GT -
I've worked a little with nodeMCU on my esp8266-12e. GT

What a wonderful suggestion Michel. You truly have the mind of the entrepreneur.[emoji3][emoji106] GT

But what did you think of the synchronization? GT
-
I agree about the lighting. Just use zwave for lighting. Near instantaneous. GT

Check this thing out! This looks like the solution to synchronized music through the house.: https://youtu.be/xvPiiZLHZy8 GT

Thanks. I will cast an eye to Amazon and look for the July 4th announcement. Cheers! GT

If I were you, I wouldn't think in that box. Be prepared to use anything that works. Having said that, I use around 80% zwave and the rest insteon and other. I had an issue a while back with noise interfering with an insteon device and just used a zwave device instead. There can be so much headache with insteon and filters and interference that rather than try to diagnose that one, I just went zwave. If you run into a zwave issue or zwave doesn't work in a particular situation, use insteon. As far as reliability and satisfaction, I have nothing but good to say about zwave. I don't have much bad to say about insteon either. They are both quite usable under the same roof in my experience. I have not had any connection problems either and I have zwave from top to bottom and front to back in my house.[emoji106][emoji3] GT

Are you guys getting like 2-3 emails a week from Smart Home crowing about 'sales'? When I go to the site hoping for some savings, it's the same old deals- artificially inflated 'normal' prices are 'slashed' to down to the usual prices. What is their objective? It's like my cousin at the bar...he just goes from girl to girl asking if they are interested. He's batting about 1 per 100. GT

That's what I thought. My original desire was and still is whole house audio with the Dot. So I'm back to the dot plugged into a splitter then into separate BT transmitters sent to 2-3 BT receiver speaker pairs. GT

So how does it fit together exactly? Chromecast plugs into what? I think into the 4way splitter amp? Then what? The way I envisioned my setup was Echo Dot plugged into Chromecast then Chromecast into Bluetooth transmitters to 2-3 sets of speakers with amps. GT
