If Control does not work as the KPL button has not been physically pressed. If Status works because KPL is queried when ISY starts.

1. Use this Scene Scenexxxx SwitchLinc1 - Controller SwitchLinc2 - Controller When SwitchLinc1 is operated, SwitchLinc2 functions as a Responder When SwitchLinc2 is operated, SwitchLinc1 functions as a Responxder This is the best/normal way to cross-link SwitchLinc1 and SwitchLinc2 For 2. and 3. need to know the uniqueness of the On Scene versus the Off Scene. . If the RemoteLinc2 is in non-toggle mode for some other reason, then two buttons can be used or a Program that switches between the On Scene and Off Scene (if two Scenes are needed) or simply cycles between On and Off commands.

Not with Scenes only. Requires Program logic.

I cannot say what will stop the devices from locking up short of using a supported load. Some LEDs do work with a Dimmer, some LEDs of the same type may not work. Changing the Ramp Rate may help, it may not. Hate to be so noncommittal but that is the nature of using an unsupported load. May folks use LEDs with the only issue they cannot be dimmed past a certain percentage. Others have issues that make the LEDs not usable on a Dimmer. Insteon allows a device to be a Controller of only one Scene. The Admin Console is simply implementing an Insteon requirement. It makes sense when Insteon operation is understood. What is unique about the On Scene versus the Off Scene.

The Folder condition allows the Programs to run, it does not make the Programs run.

A device that can function as a Controller and Responder is usually defined as a Controller. It will function as a Responder when needed, as in a 3-way configuration. The LEDs may be an issue. Some LEDs function on a Dimmer even though not supported. Bringing the devices to 50% with a 2 second ramp rate can cause the device to lock up. If linked manually the SwitchLincs must have been added to the ISY with the "keep existing links" option or the manual linking was done after the SwitchLincs. If the manual linking was done after adding to the ISY the manual links will eventually be lost as the ISY would not know about them.

If Control is an Event driven activity, True only while command is being processed. Not useful for Folder condition. Use If Status 'Keypad-A' is Off for the Folder that has Programs to execute when KPL button is Off and If Status 'Keypad-A' is On for the Folder that has Programs to execute when KPL button is On Also note that 4.2.18 is old. 4.3.26 is latest Official release.

Is there a pending update Icon next to the other devices or perhaps a new PLM was installed and the updates for changing PLMs has not completed. What does Help | About display for Firmware and UI levels.
-
Unless the device is a very old Dimmer a 9 minute Ramp Rate no longer exists. 8 minutes is now the max Ramp Rate for On/Off commands. Fade Up/Down does not use the On/Off command Ramp Rate. Fade Up/Down uses something in the range of 2 to 3 seconds. Fade Up/Down requires a Fade Stop. I have not found a Wait is necessary between Adjust Scene statements.

A Restore Device targets only that one device. However, it sounds like there are pending updates for other devices that will be attempted after the Restore Device completes. This additional activity can be temporarily avoided by marking the pending devices Disabled. Then one battery device can be put into linking mode and the device marked Enabled. When that device completes move to the next device.

What type load are the 2477D SwitchLinc Dimmers controlling? It was not necessary to create another ISY Scene to have a RemoteLinc2 control the SwitchLincs. I would expect the SwitchLincs to be Controllers in a Scene Scenexxxx SwitchLinc1 - Controller SwitchLinc2 - Controller To this ISY Scene add the RemoteLinc2 Scenexxxx SwitchLinc1 - Controller SwitchLinc2 - Controller RemoteLinc2 button - Controller The On Level and Ramp Rate for the RemoteLinc2 button would be 50% On level with 2 second Ramp Rate. This would have no affect on On Level and Ramp Rate for when the SwitchLincs are used as a Controller or the Scenexxxx is used in an ISY Program.

That is the first command issued by New INSTEON Device. It means the PLM cannot reach the 2474. Is this a full Insteon installation with coupling?
-
Yes, that will couple the 2 120v legs if Range Extenders are in range of each other and installed on opposite 120 v legs.

Please identify 'Great Room / Great Room Devices / GR Spots KPL (DB) - A Spots' 'Great Room / Great Room Devices / GR Spots' Does the Program | Summary show 'GR Spots adjust scene Copy' ran at 9 PM What happened when KPL button pressed? Suggest running Tools | Diagnostics | Event Viewer at LEVEL 3. Right click on GR Spots adjust scene Copy, select Run Then Turn On KPL button Post event trace.

Insteon RF has limited range. Not surprising the RF signal will not pass through two exterior walls and possibly some interior walls as well. Unless there are noise or signal suppression issues the powerline signal should have no trouble getting to another building 40' away on the same meter. Couple the 2 120v Legs where the PLM is located as the PLM is the device that must talk to the Micro On/Off module in the other building. EDIT: My detached garage is more than 300' wire feet from house with several Insteon devices running from powerline.

Click on Tools | Diagnostics | Event Viewer. Select LEVEL 3. Click on Link Management | New INSTEON Device Enter Insteon address, Name of choice, leave as Auto Discover and Remove existing links. Click Ok Post Event Trace. Icon at bottom of Event Viewer window near right side copies trace to clipboard. Paste clipboard.

Having a separate power panel does not mater, I have 3 power panels all feed from same meter. Is the other building on its own meter and do you have the 2 120 v legs coupled?
-
Along with Stu's question of same/different meter, the Micro On/Off module is NOT Dual Band. Assuming the other building is on the same meter a set of Dual Band devices is necessary to couple the 2 120 v legs. Possibility the power to the other building powering the new Micro On/Off modules is on the other 120 v leg which will not receive PLM messages without coupling.

iowaj Suggest upgrading ISY Firmware to latest Official release 4.3.26. This may help with the oddities you are seeing and will get ISY Firmware and UI in sync.
-
Checked units from Lowes. Some specifically mention not running fan with a Dimmer. Others did not document. I would contact fan manufacturer. Ceiling fans are designed to start and run at low speed. Concerned exhaust fan may not start or overheat motor.

Click on Network which displays all devices defined to ISY. Click the Address heading on right side to sort by Insteon address. A malfunctioning KPL should not have disappeared. Neither should the new KPL if the New INSTEON Device was successful. I'm concerned about devices that do not display. What ISY Firmware and UI is being used? (Help | About)

Sorry, the Restore Modem (PLM) writes only to the PLM. If the PLM was being replaced all devices would be affected. A simple Restore Modem (PLM) runs in a few minutes with only the PLM being affected.
-
Yes. It is File | Restore Modem (PLM). Takes a few minutes depending on the number of link records in the PLM.
