  1. The v.43 Dual Band Keypad Dimmer does not say Dual Band. Makes no difference. There is no change in commands used by the ISY whether the device title indicates Dual Band or not. The application (ISY in this case) does not actually care whether the device is Dual Band or not. All RF processing is done automatically inside the device without any knowledge of the application (ISY in this case). You can change the device name to include the words Dual Band but that could make the device name too long to display Keypad name and button function.
  2. The first parameter is always the Controller. If using the ISY Scene name in a Program the first parameter would be the ISY Scene name which is actually identifying the PLM as the Controller. Nothing is actually changed in the Controller (first parameter). The first parameter establishes the Controller (PLM or Controller device name) which identifies the Controller Insteon address in the Responder device link record. It is a Responder link record in the Responder device that is being modified by each Adjust Scene statement. The second parameter identifies the Responder device. This provides the Insteon address of the Responder device so Adjust Scene statement knows which device Responder link table to modify. It is key to know which device is the load control device. The Controller device (first parameter) can be the same as Responder device (second parameter) if they are the same device. The KPL button is the Controller. If the KPL is also physically controlling the load (Red wire of KPL is connected to load) then the KPL is also the Responder and would also be used in the second parameter. If the SwitchLinc is physically controlling the load (Red wire of SwitchLinc is connected to load) the SwitchLinc is the Responder and would be used as the second parameter. No magic here, first parameter is always the Controller and the second parameter is always the Responder. With both pieces of information the Adjust Scene statement knows the Insteon address of the Responder (physical location of link record table being modified) and the Insteon address of the Controller device so which link record in the Responder to modify is known. Without accurately specifying the Controller name and Responder name (could be the same device) the Adjust Scene statement will be modifying the wrong Responder link record. Really need to know whether the Red wire of the KPL or the Red wire of the SwitchLinc is connected to the load. Without that information the Adjust Scene statement will not work. Example: KPL Button A Controller: 11.11.11 Group 01; SwitchLinc Responder: 22.22.22 In Scene 'KPL - Button A' Set 'SwitchLinc' 31% (On Level) SwitchLinc Link Table - 22.22.22 - 2nd parameter of Adjust Scene statement A2 01 11.11.11 4F 1F 01 A2 - Responder link record 01 - Group number of Responder 11.11.11 - Insteon address of Controller - 1st parameter of Adjust Scene statement 4F - 31% On Level - 3rd parameter of Adjust Scene statement 1F - 0.1 second Ramp Rate 01 - Group number of KPL button A - 1st parameter of Adjust Scene Information in Red comes from Adjust Scene statement
  3. Insteon Relay switches have always issued Ramp Up/Down commands. Take a look at Event Trace from post 73. First two traces show On and Off commands. Trace 3 shows a Ramp Up, trace 4 shows a Ramp Down, all from a ToggleLinc Relay. Works the same for KeypadLinc Relay, SwitchLinc Relay.
  4. The Relay responder does not react to the Ramp Up or Ramp Down from the Relay Controller. However, if the Scene also has a Dimmer as a Responder it would Ramp Up and Ramp Down from those commands issued by the Relay Controller. ISY Scene ToggleLinc Relay 1 ToggleLinc Relay 2 Dimmer (ToggleLinc Dimmer, KeypadLinc Dimmer, SwitchLinc Dimmer, etc) Dimmer does react to Ramp Up and Ramp Down from ToggleLinc Relay 1 and ToggleLinc Relay 2
  5. Power down PLM and ISY. Power up PLM, wait 30 seconds and power up ISY. Has that eliminated safe mode?
  6. I successfully Deleted a MorningLinc v.3A under 4.3.26, added it back following Wiki instructions, and can LOCK/UNLOCK lockset using MorningLinc. 7. Were these steps from Wiki followed? Step 1 has already been done Manually link the MorningLinc to the Locks(s) 2458A1_Manual See Link Management Menu to tell the ISY to Start Linking. Select the third option 'Add devices found in links and keep existing links'. If you select 'Remove existing links' it removes all links from the MorningLinc and due to the security measures on the MorningLinc the PLM can no longer send commands to it. Link the MorningLinc to the ISY by pressing the Set button on the MorningLinc for 3-5 seconds. If the MorningLinc does not appear on the ISY console press the set button once again and press and hold again. Click on the Finish button on the Linking in Progress dialogue requester. Some dialogue will take place between the ISY and the MorningLinc to create the links necessary to view and control the device state. The MorningLinc should now be available as a device in the Console and in Programs.
  8. My comment about a False evaluation in my previous post was wrong. Thanks larryllix for pointing out that mistake! Your original Program and "test" Program are triggered at From and To times (as stated by jerlands and larryllix) and by Run (If) statement. Either change "test" Program From time to a few minutes in the future or manually start execution. Saving Program after 8 AM does not trigger Program. Ending Admin Console has no affect.
  9. With a time range the Program is triggered twice based on time. At 8 AM the Program is triggered and the If is True so the Then clause executes. At 10 PM the Program is triggered and the If is False so the Else clause executes. If triggered at other times the If is False (not 8 AM) so Else clause executes. - this is wrong One approach follows .... If From 08:00:00AM To 10:00:00PM (same day) Then Repeat 16 times Set 'Lamp' On Wait 1 hour Set 'Lamp' Off Wait 2 hours Repeat 1 time Else Set 'Lamp' Off The second Repeat is necessary so second Wait has statement that follows. Otherwise no 2 hour Wait Your original Program and "test" Program are triggered at From and To times (as stated by jerlands and larryllix) and by Run (If) statement. Either change "test" Program From time to a few minutes in the future or manually start execution. Saving Program after 8 AM does not trigger Program. Ending Admin Console has no affect.
  10. My security display has similar limits in terms of viewing angles. Also my Copy/FAX machine is the same way. Although sitting on a table the front panel with the display is angled such that the eyes are viewing nearly straight. There are limitations with those small display panels. The 2491T Venstar has a good image when straight and above the thermostat but poor when below the device. The 2441TH is blank when viewing from below and inactive segments are visible when viewing from above.
  11. A Restore Modem (PLM) does not alter any device other than the PLM unless the PLM is being replaced or there were already pending/queued updates for other devices. larryllix was doing something more than a simple Restore Modem (PLM). This would indicate that there were pending updates already queued for the battery devices. Only ONE battery device must be put into linking mode at a time. Putting multiple battery devices into linking mode linked the devices. Put ONE battery device into linking mode, then right click on device node and select Restore Device. When that restore has completed, take that device out of linking mode. Then move to the next battery device and repeat the process for that device. .
  12. satwar The white sticker contains the "hardware" level of PLM (v1.0). It was manufactured in week 31 of 2009 (0931). The v.92 is the PLM "firmware" level. It would be a good idea to do a File | Restore Modem (PLM). This will rebuild the PLM link database. With a PLM that is 6 years old the link database could use restore. The links should be functional since the Scene Test was successful but the Restore Modem (PLM) should only take a few minutes.
  13. The ISY does not have a PLM based function where the "ISY" view of PLM link records can be displayed/compared to the "PLM" link records. For other devices ISY has placed link records at absolute physical positions. The ISY instructs the PLM to add/delete/update a link record in PLM without the ISY knowing where the link record is physically located in PLM. It makes it impossible for the ISY to display an "ISY" version versus "PLM" version of link database nor do a Compare function for PLM. There is no Restore Device for PLM. There is a File | Restore Modem (PLM) The 2412 PLM started at 417 link records, then went to 2000+ link records which is actually too many for the PLM to search before next device message requires the next search. That is why the 2413 is 994 links with the 2413 PLM having a faster clock so searches of large PLM link database works. This installation has a 2413 with very limited devices so a full PLM link database is not possible. The PLM could have duplicate records so a File | Restore Modem (PLM) could be useful to eliminate all but active records in PLM.
  14. My post 25 is a summary of your posted information. Wiring was concluded as being correct Range Extenders were added to insure good coupling Posted device and PLM link record information shows devices cross-linked PLM is described as "old" but requested level information was not posted Scene Test shows both devices responded correctly to an Insteon Scene Off command At this point the bowl is full of water but the hand does not get wet when placed in the bowl. When the result is "impossible" some fact or set of facts is not correct. Check your local area for an experienced electrician who is knowledge about Insteon. Although this might get solved by various folks asking overlapping questions about already documented conditions, this problem is better resolved by a good on site electrician with Insteon experience. If you want another step connect two ToggleLincs on an extension cord (red wires capped) plugged into PLM circuit. Add devices to ISY without cross-link and verify LEVEL 3 Event Trace shows device messages from both devices. Cross link devices and confirm they do or do not control each other. If they do not control each other are device messages still showing in Event Trace.
  15. Insteon has been doing 3-way, 4-way, 5-way configurations in my house for almost 10 years.
  16. Would depend on what has failed in the 2412S. The only thing functional in the PLM from an app perspective is the link database. This remains intact across removing power from PLM but an electronic failure could erase parts or all of the link database. The 2413S has had both situations.
  17. David D I have used (and am still using) 2412S PLMs for many years without an issue. I think most folks who have moved to a 994i have also moved to a 2413S (as I have). The 2412S failure may be something unrelated to capacitors. I would not be concerned over moving to the latest 2413S. Also I don't think the 2412S is available any more.
  18. The 2413S versions before hardware v2.x have capacitor issues. Several folks have replaced the failed/failing caps with success. The newest 2413S at hardware v2.1 should have better caps. It may take 2 years to know this for sure as that is often the failure point of the older 2413S.
  19. 1. it does not matter, same device. SmartLabs changed the name when it added national RF frequencies (-222, -422) 2. if the person moves around for more than 15 minutes additional motion On will occur after timeout motion Off
  20. Ok, thanks. Those are valid for PLM Responder records. The ToggleLincs are cross-linked and the PLM has the expected Responder links. That takes us back to a comm issue.
  21. The devices are cross-linked in a 3-way configuration. Each device also has a Controller link to the PLM. If there is a link record issue it would be in the PLM. TriggerLinc v.43

Your welcome. Glad it was useful info.
  24. My v.3A ToggleLincs work fine at 4.3.26. I assume they worked at 4.3.18 as I don't remember having any issues at the older ISY levels (I install all ISY images) but cannot test that old level to be 100% sure. The Hops Left=0 is okay in this case (Scene Test) as the Max Hops=1 is the starting point. If Max Hops was 3 then Hops Left=0 would be an issue. I suggest displaying the ToggleLincs link data base and post the result. The Scene Test does not use any of the link records required for the ToggleLinc to control another device or send state changes to PLM/ISY.

    TriggerLinc v.43

The Jumper that normally controls single node (Closed node only) or 2 node (Closed and Open nodes) was removed from the Open Close Sensor at hardware level v1.B which is v.43 firmware. Two node operation is now set with software only as it is with the Hidden Door Sensor. The Hidden Door Sensor has an Options button that brings up a popup where software controlled features are set. The Hidden Door Sensor started out that way. The Open Close Sensor change (removing jumper from PC board) was done after several iterations of the device. The original TriggerLinc and initial versions of the Open Close Sensor have the jumper. My v.40 firmware, v1.9 hardware Open Close Sensors have the jumper which controls single/2 node operation. Eventually I assume the ISY will add an Options button for the v1.B hardware.
