Anybody? Any ideas? I'm about to revert back to the 994, as I can't solve this on my own. Help... please.
I had an issue with Polisy where the SSD went bad and any changes made would revert after any reboot. Sounds similar.

IR with eisy
in eisy
IR receive is not built in to Polisy or eisy.
IR transmit was not included in ISY994, so as @lilyoyo1mentions, whatever solution you used for transmit before should work the same with the newer boxes. This can be done with network resources or node servers and itach devices, etc.
Regarding IR receive, I have looked for external solutions and have found a number of add on devices that could work. But in the end of my analysis; the cheapest (if you already have an ISY994IR) and easiest solution is to continue using the 994 for IR receive and relay IR activity to eisy (or Polisy) using the rest interface. This will most likely add additional delay to IR processing, so this may affect your use case.
Ideally, someone can/will make a node server that utilizes an IR receiver plugged into the USB port on eisy (flirc, USBUIRT, etc.). This assumes node servers have access to the USB ports and that may be a big assumption.

Is it possible to restart PG3 individual node servers or PG3 as a whole, remotely?
I am on the latest v of IoP and PG3.
Thank you,
Tim
If you have a VPN connection to your local network, you can control (restart) PG3 and individual node servers through the normal web page UI (<ipaddress>:3000). I'm sure you could also do this using port forwarding, but that is generally not recommended.

I think the ZSE40 and the ISY is not fully compatible, hence no parameters of the sensor is presented for adjustment.
The parameters can be updated using the Notify Sensor node that was created when the device was added (I have a 700 series ZSE40, so it is possible that node may not be created on 500 series). Or right click a node and select Z-wave -> Set Configuration Parameter.

Did you enable NWI/NWE in the ISY?

Chris,
I played with this for about 30 minutes and there is no way that I can find from within IoP to do what you suggested.
Once I put ZW6 into a scene as a controller, there is no option to select other z-wave devices. Right clicking presents me with this.Could you possibly show us with a step by step including screen shots of what we should be seeing? The three of us in this thread so far can't seem to figure it out.
Based on this comment:
3) Both the controller and responder are linked to the ISY at the same security level (i.e S0 security or no security)
I think both of your devices need to be security=S0 or both security=none. You have one device with none and the other at S0. I'm not that knowledgeable on Zwave security, so it's possible these are the same, but I didn't think so.

Which? I've been evaluating how to add more. Since you mentioned above that you only have one wired device I've become more interested in z-wave (so far I have no z-wave).
Other than this?

I did have "Query at restart" checked. After unchecking it, the issue goes away. I am also surprised, given the higher performance hardware of Polisy, that the query operations are taking that long.
The bottleneck is the Insteon and/or Zwave traffic, not a function of the Polisy hardware.

Only when there's only 1 ISY on the local network, it stops at ISY Finder for multiple ISYs.
With with 994 v5.3.4, which did you mean?
Many MAC users have better luck with the admin console approach. Most windows users have no problem with launcher.
I have one 994 and one IoP. Not sure if that qualifies as 1 ISY or not per your comment.
Here is my experience with that environment.
1) 994 on 5.0.16c. Download admin.jnlp from IP addres of 994.
When you started admin.jnlp first time it created shortcut that allowed you to go straight to login screen w/o selecting anything from finder. I think a blank finder window opened in background but still went straight to login prompt.
2) 994 on 5.3.4 (haven't used anything between that and 5.0.16c) did the same thing except it would only work the first time to get to login screen. Any attempt after first login, would error out with no connection or something like that. Unless you cleared java cache and re-ran admin.jnlp to get a new shortcut. Again would only work for first login attempt. Obviously this is much more work than Launcher and selecting which ISY to login to.
3) IoP on 5.4.0 (I think earlier versions of IoP worked similar to 994 on 5.0.16c, but don't remember).
Download admin.jnlp from IP of IoP and saved admin.jnlp file. Running this file does not create a separate shortcut but goes straight to IoP login screen (with empty finder window in background). This is easier (in my opinion) than starting Launcher and then selecting which device to login to.

Got my polisy, plugged in and updated. Looks like it found my ISY, Portal and has Ring. It shows 2 nodes - Ring and ISY portal. How do I sign in to ring - did it automatically migrate? What else do I need to do at this point. Hopefully, I don't have to migrate the PLM now. I have to order a new PLM to connect to the Polisy.
Thanks for any help.
Andrew
See @lilyoyo1's post above. Currently there is not a node server for Ring. It is probably seeing configuration information from your previous setup.

Until the log parsing is fixed... If you want to have it generated line by line you can do this..
Download notepad++
Install Notepad++
Close Notepad++
Open shortcuts.xml file with any text editor but not notepad++
You can find shortcuts.xml in
%appdata%\Notepad++ folder
The shortcuts.xml file will look like this ( ignore the macro name , the format of the file is what is important)

For my 994i ISY I had this note to create a desktop shortcut for the ISY. Usually whenever a new version of ISY was installed I'd have to recreate this shortcut as the Java cache would always get deleted.
Admin Console desktop shortcut
Open this link and click the Install Admin Console (Internet) link.
http://<ISY IP>/WEB/udajax.htm#/config/&tmpl=options
Doing this would result in this icon on my desktop that would start the Admin console.
I tried to do this for the Polisy ISY using the above link with Polisy's IP address, but it didn't work. I get a "refused to connect" error in the browser window. Will something like this work for the Polisy ISY?
For IoP you can use:
http://<IoP IP:port>/admin.jnlp
This will download the admin console to your computer.
You can then just run that file directly w/o going through the launcher/finder. (goes straight to login screen)
This use to work for ISY, but no longer works on the latest releases.
Remember that you will need to redo this when a new version of the IoP firmware/admin console is released. Which is probably why they want people using the Launcher instead.

I'm trying to install a Universal Devices ISY664i controller to drive X10 and Insteon light switches in the house from a Windows 10 system. Have got to the point where the instructions at
<http://www.universal-devices.com/docs/production/Quick%20Setup%20Guide%20994i.Rev%207.pdf> say:> If you do not have Java installed, please install the latest for your platform. You may find the latest Java downloads at <http://www.java.com/getjava>. Please choose the latest JRE for your platform.
But all that site seems to talk about is Java in the browser.
I don't think that's what I need (or what Firefox will allow); the old desktop shortcut says> "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_211\bin\javaws.exe" -localfile -J-Djnlp.application.href=https://isy.universal-devices.com/launcher/isy.jnlp ... blah, blah etc.
Is it safe to go ahead and install Java from that download? I think I remember there was a way to confine Java away from the browser, but it's vague.
You should install Java from the link you referred to.

I've had Polyglot V2 working fine on a Rasp Pi for a few years now. Decided to update to the latest version of Polyglot last night and after the update, suddenly when I'd try to log into Polyglot in Chrome, I would get a "This site can't be reached,
refused to connect".
I am using HTTPS and it is the same address I've always used for the PI (set by reservation in my router).
Today I tried wiping the Pi and reloading Raspian and Polyglot V2 and I still get the error.
Anybody got any suggestions as to what might be causing this? Is this a Windows Firewall issue? If so, I'm not sure how to correct that and am curious why it never happened before.
I appreciate any help you might be able to give.
Thanks,
Brian
I would try using http (no s) and/or a different browser. Doubtful it is firewall, but you could turn off briefly to test. -
The Electrical box is in the ceiling behind one of the highats - HIdden away - Can I just throw a switchlinc in the ceiling and just use that? It wouldn't be seen at all - The KPL is the only control
With Regards to the fanlinc, the lights I'm currently controlling are incandescent 45w high hats - They are dimmable although I really only use on/off - So I don't see why the fanlinc wouldn't work and looks like its smaller/easier to hide.. ?? Wouldn't the fanlic support Instant On/Off?
Thanks!
Fanlinc or switchlinc should work just fine as long as wattage is ok. -
@lilyoyo1you are killing me. Would you point me in the direction of making the ISY a secondary controller? I can't figure it out. While it is not the solution, I would like to play it out.
It is the Zwave Learn menu item.
You might want to read up on Zwave secondary controllers before utilizing that.
Here is a very basic article about a different controller but should be relevant.

I do have one other 2477S (a new one) that I can swap out with. The 2477S that is currently installed and beeping, I believe has been exhibiting this behavior (beeping on Insteon traffic) since I installed it.
If it turns out to be a bad device (which it sounds like), I would keep it as as spare. As hard as they are to get now, you could always cut the leads to the piezo "beeper" if you had to.

I've had Java remove the memory setting during a Java update. It's best to check the setting anytime Java updates
In my experience, it removes it every update and you have to remember to add it back -
Regarding Mobilinc, you might try the UD Mobile app.

There is a Zwave setting in ISY to turn on/off the ability to add devices using security. Make sure that is set correctly. But the ISY usually tells you this needs to be changed when it is not set. So probably not the problem.

I just got 2 Ecolink Zwave Flood/Freeze sensors. The include via zwave with no issue. When I go to test them by creating a wet zone filling a tub up with water and the sensor getting submerged, the sensors do not change states. I have removed and added several times with the same issue. Anyone have these and able to make them work? Below are the different zwave zones that are added for each sensor:
Notify Sensor - battery level
Water Deteced - status on/off
Freeze Alarm - status on/off
Water Alarm - water alarm idle
Lead Detected Alarm - status on/off
Level Drop Alarm - status on/off
Home Security Alarm - home security idle
Tamper Alarm - status on/off
Do you have a large Zwave network that reaches your test location?
I would test near the ISY by using a paper clip (or similar) to short across the leads. (or damp paper towel)
