  1. Greetings; Just upgraded my ISY with a new Z-Wave Dongle and at first sight, it seems to have migrated without an issue... (also upgraded to 5.3.0) I was waiting for this to add a few motion sensors to the system and now I'm ready to do so... all my sensors are on V1.13, and V1.14 is available AeoTec asks for this to be done with their own dongle, but according to a now closed post on OTA upgrades @Michel Kohanim mentions that OTA is part of the 500 certification. I have not been able to see any menu items indicating that ISY can do so? Can someone point me in the right direction, please? Cheers
  2. Wow, that's a whole lot of answer, very fast! Thanks Bpwwr! I'd like to have access to the data my sensors produce, while I'm away and maybe even control one or the other actuator... If there is a secure way of doing it, other than a Webserver, please let me know. I guess one way to do it is dialling into the RPi via VNC, or even SSH and accessing the "local" data that way. Or staying on the Arduino platform, but with a MKR1010 Wifi, which has a nifty Cloud interface already... I already own several domains, mostly so I can have personalized email addresses for the family. But, following your train of thought of using a third party to host a website for a moment: how do I get the information from my Arduino on this site? And some of the instruments, which do not have a cloud portal? Pardon my nooby questions...
  3. Greetings! I've been tinkering with an Arduino Mega to sense pool chemistry etc and have a small local server running off it. As I'm trying to add more data on that page from solar system, weather station etc, I'm being told that putting the Arduino onto the Internet would be criminally negligent... So, since I have a few Raspberry Pis in my closet, that seemed like a natural choice, being cape of https, cryptologic etc. When I described my topography on the RPI forum, one of the first comments was: "do you really have a Polisy Pro? If so, you could create a Subdomain on it and run your servers from there"... By now you have probably realized that I'm a bloody noob and have no idea what this kind soul (DrTechno) is referring to. Can someone please point in the right direction? Oh, and I also recall that Polisy is running a flavor of Linux. Which one is it, so I can try to educate myself on that too... There is definitely more "educating" going and than productive work... Getting old sucks! Cheers
  4. Thanks; And it's not a 5.5mm/2.1mm barrel connector. Is it 5.5/2.5mm?
  5. Greetings from Colombia; After a power surge wreaked havoc in my home automation / alarm cabinet, I'm cleaning up, including power supplies. I have a number of nice DIN-Rail mounted supplies, which will make this look way better than a bunch of wall-warts. What voltages will Polisy Pro support (it comes with a 12V adapter) and what amperage does it really draw (the wall-wart is 1A)? Thanks; BTW, is there group for Polisy, other than Geek-batch? This question seems rather mundane for it. Cheers
  6. Greetings, What are the 3 Ethernet ports behind the Polisy Pro good for? The rightmost one needs to go to the router, that much is in the manual. Can I use it as a switch, to connect my elk M1XEP, for instance? Cheers
  7. As I said, cycled power to the while house and to the Polisy. I still cannot control any of the SonOff switches. When looking at the event log on the ISY, I see that it is getting information from my Weather station through the Polyglot weather node. That part seems to work. When I go to the ISY web interface, the Zwave based sensors seem to present (the color of the red/green buttons are vivid). All of the SonOff switches initially have a vivid color, but very soon the ON turns dull and it obviously doesn't respond to clicks... It's almost like the MQTT node server crashed. But wouldn't that come alive again upon a power cycle? Stumped...
  8. Could it be a DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME ISSUE???? Colombia doesn't switch, but maybe I failed to set this thing properly.
  9. Yes, that was a problem I had earlier, but once I upgraded to a MikroTik 3011, that went away. Handling 98 Sonoffs and a whole bunch of other devices without a problem... it used to take a while to get all the addresses assigned. But that went away, when I reserved all the switch addresses. Now, the moment it gets a MAC, it knows where it goes.
  10. well, I am trying to slowly migrate from CHROME to BRAVE. Seems like this forum doesn't like it. Polisy was running stable the whole time. The last and only time the house crashed was on 21 November, a week before I put the house on battery backup. Since then it ran without a glitch. And of course it comes crashing down, when I am on another continent!
  11. So, I have done a complete power cycle to the house, including the Polisy and the ISY. Still no lights. I then did a separate power cycle to the Polisy. No dice. When I log onto ISY, it shows to be on-line. When I try to log onto Polisy, it says it is online, but no details on either of the node servers and no option to reboot... The house has internet. Any ideas?
  12. BTW, Forum doesn't let me post, when using Brave browser. I had to sign in in Chrome...
  13. Thanks Asbril, I have this system implemented up here in the mountains of California to do a daily reset to my router and ELK1XEP. This is 10 year old tech. I will ask my house sitter to try and do this. Rather pedestrian, I must say, considering the Polisy is supposed the be the latest and greatest. Here is one thought though: in December, I installed a whole house battery system (backed up by solar), which means I'm no longer prone to the rather frequent power outages of the local grid. Polisy has been for 4 months straight! Sound like a stack overflow somewhere. Could that be a hint, Michel? Because before this, for an entire year, this problem didn't presente itself... Cheers.
  14. My house sitter calls me this evening, saying she cannot turn on any lights. I logged onto ISY and requested a remote reset.bseems like it might have executed. Then I tried to log into Polisy PRO. It says I'm online, but no information on the two node servers (MQQT and Weather) shows up. The usual options of resetting Polisy are not available either... All home switches are SonOff, linked to Google Voice via the Polisy running MQQT node server and ISY. I cannot access any of those switches... Neither by voice, not through my ELK M1gold. The culprit clearly seems to be Polisy... Can anyone help? Cheers.
  15. Greetings, I'm using the WeatherLink Node to get data from my Davis Instruments Vantage station. That works well enough. I also have an Arduino controlling my pool chemistry and rainfall is an important Parameter for this. Has anyone tried to get an Arduino (with W5500 ethernet) to connect to ISY/Polyglot to retrieve information? Cheers!
  16. Also, tried to install this GoTo app. Do they really need access to my entire life, as depicted in the attached screenshot? I'm busy tomorrow, Wednesday and Friday. Thursday would work, but that is your Thanksgiving... Saturday or Sunday? Else, we can do it next week... Thanks for your concern Michel. I really appreciate the effort! Cheers.
  17. No idea, what this is. No idea what Edmonton nor Cornwall... I don't think this came from my email Michel...
  18. Hi Michel. Today is my wife's 60th birthday. I had to divert my attention a bit... Hope you understand. What's the best way to coordinate a session? Cheers
  19. And this time a got a ticket#10705...
  20. That's where it went the first time. Just re-sent it. Coming from jr@***.ws
  21. Hi @Michel Kohanim; not sure about the ticket number. I haven't received an acknowledgement to my mail to support (Polisy crashed and now unstable sent Sat, 21 Nov, 14:57 (3 days ago) ). We seem to be back to the same bug, that I don't get replies to my mails... I had brought that up some months ago (to Brad, I think, when I was first struggling with Polisy). cheers;
  22. greetings; I also had Polisy beeping this morning, followed the instructions in the manual. the beeping stopped, but the whole system is behaving bizarrely, not connecting to ISY anymore, and Polisy Log (from local) is now back to admin/admin... followed the instructions with SSH, but of course they don't change the admin/admin default at all. Corrupted Database ssh admin@polisy (you can change polisy to the IP address of your unit) Default password is admin. Once this process is done, please change it <----- HOW HOW HOW???? Run the following commands sudo service mongod status. If it's not running, then: sudo rm -rf /var/db/mongodb sudo reboot Ran the sudo recommended above, here's the result. no change in behaviour. And yes, submitted a ticket... Last login: Sat Nov 21 15:06:09 2020 from 192.168.10.190 FreeBSD 12.1-RELEASE-p1 r355229 POLISY Welcome to Polisy! 23. yes. sorry about that
  24. So, I've been playing with the 994i for a while in anticipation of building a new home. Now that the floorplan is completed, it is time for the electrical and home automation. The home will be in Colombian countryside,a one story construction of reinforced concrete and brick, over 6000sqf on two landscaped acres. Yes, Colombia means heavy on security, lighting and cameras! Security will likely be provided by an ELK M1 Gold panel. Should I go Insteon or Z-Wave Plus? I like Zwave for it's OTA firmware upgradability, but it is limited to less than 250 circuits and given the size of the property and the concrete walls, I'm worried about RF range. Insteon is attractive because it can handle 1000+ circuits and with Powerline in addition to RF mesh networking... I would be very grateful for anyone to voice an opinion on the topic and provide any other guidance. Cheers.
