From what I read ZigBee SEP is to communicate with Edison so you can read the electric measurement KWH for your house I want to control this device: http://amzn.to/2c93RZY Keen Home smart vent (which uses Zigbee). Would the ISY994iZ work? Does the ISY994iZ work with Philips Hue lights for example?

How is your experience with ISY994 and Zigbee so far? Can you control Zigbee lights (Lightify or Philips Hue) or is Zigbee support just limited to Energy Monitor devices? Thanks!

How do I execute a Python script on the ISY994?
rafarataneneces replied to rafarataneneces's topic in ISY994
But you can see I already said I chose Apache and aparently my solution is not welcome http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/19536-how-do-i-execute-a-python-script-on-the-isy994/?do=findComment&comment=183818 So I don't know why blast if it's a solution that works then it works and I'm happy Apparently Apache + Python is a crime -
How do I execute a Python script on the ISY994?
rafarataneneces replied to rafarataneneces's topic in ISY994
I already chose Google App Engine as my server, and my python script works great!!! I can turn on/off MagicLights (search for MagicLights on Amazon, AMAZING lights!!!) through internal API local network What I don't understand is if I have said that I had a Python code that I wanted to use, why this topic deviated to 'Which frameworks should I use to develop in Python??' I NEVER asked that question, it's ONE SIMPLE Python script and I wanted to know how to hook it up to Apache. At the end of the day, Google App Engine allowed me to deploy the Python script online, and then I hooked it up to WD My Cloud EX4 which already had a Apache Server. I appreciate the people that recommended Raspberry PI since that would be the cheapest way to hook it up if I wouldn't have found a solution. -
How do I execute a Python script on the ISY994?

you don't understand I found an Apache server in my house (WD EX4) perfectly capable of running Python scripts so I chose that route instead of buying a small computer just for that -
How do I execute a Python script on the ISY994?
rafarataneneces replied to rafarataneneces's topic in ISY994
Ladies and Gentlemen Thank you for all your suggestions!! I have a WD My Cloud EX4 It had python already installed! And it had an Apache server already installed and it executed cgi-bin files in a special folder already! All I had to do was create links from the /Shares/cgi-bin to /var/www/cgi-bin/ That's It!!! Now I can upload Python scripts (in this case, I am controlling my MagicLights) And I can turn them ON/OFF!!! All with Network Module from ISY994!!! -
How do I execute a Python script on the ISY994?
rafarataneneces replied to rafarataneneces's topic in ISY994
I have the Netgear R7000 but I have doubts I will be able to run Apache + PHP + Python as I read DDWRT only allows Apache + PHP but no CGI (and I need that to execute Python) I am going to use a Raspberry PI at some moment, right now I am using Google App Engine and it works wonderful I don't want to buy a computer unless I see myself starting to write so many APIs that I am afraid the cloud will fail or I want to gain speed from a local IP address talking directly to my bulbs/ISY. -
How do I execute a Python script on the ISY994?

So if I install DD WRT on my router I can SSH to it and run Apache + PHP + Python? That would be awesome!! Has anybody done that? -

How do I execute a Python script on the ISY994?
rafarataneneces replied to rafarataneneces's topic in ISY994
Ok but if I save a python script on a remote computer, how can I execute that python script through a http call? I know how to set up Apache + PHP, I don't have experience with Python. -
Dear programmers I have a wonderful Python script that will allow me to turn on/off my FLUX/MagicLight bulbs. These bulbs are running HORRIBLY as for some reason they turn RED, then they change color, every single time I turn them on. Therefore, I learned how to turn them on/off via a python script that is over 1300+ lines long. I would like to somehow execute that server via a network service or I don't know a web server or a ssh in the ISY Any ideas?

Hello. How can I start two programs that don't start at the same time? 1) When I turn the button ON of a KPL (status changes to 100%) then I want to turn on the LIFX bulb 2) When the status is at 25% (any percent actually) and I a) Keep the button pressed until it Brightens up to 100% Double press the button so it FAST ON to 100% In this case, these should be two events. I already have to programs ready for this, however, they both activate when I do either 1 or 2 I was trying to do it with the CONTROL in ISY but that is not working maybe I need to learn something. Anybody has done this? One action when Button ON pressed Another action when you dim it to 100% or fast-on? Thanks!

I installed two battery operated with ISY994i and they don't display the temperature or setpoints then I installed with Insteon Hub and it still fails Do you have them on batteries and linked to the ISY?

So 2441ZTH doesn't work with ISY994?

Issues with status updates on 2441ZTH Thermostat
rafarataneneces replied to MustangChris04's topic in ISY994
I am also in the same problem, going to Microcenter tomorrow to return the AC Wireless Thermostats -
Do you have the Insteon Wireless Thermostat connected to the main Insteon Thermostat? in Master/Slave configuration? I just did a Factory reset on the thermostats, so at least I can test if they work like this (without being connected to the main thermostat) If they don't work, I need to refund them, and I'll buy them later, 6 months from now, who knows I do like the idea of changing the temperature, and I do like the idea of maybe my dad being able to turn the AC off from the Master Room But for $172 this is a complete waste of money if ISY994 or Insteon Hub can NEVER (ok maybe 1/20 attempts) read the temperature from these devices

Wireless thermostat - monitor communications / battery
rafarataneneces replied to Techman's topic in ISY994
Since the Insteon Wireless Thermostat is a complete failure 1) Can I use a REAL WIRED Insteon Thermostat and use it as Master/Slave for another Insteon Thermostat? I was thinking since the Insteon Thermostat is reliable, then maybe that could be done -
Well the thermostat was in "Auto Program" (Insteon Thermostat) but it was NOT 'Calling for Cool" I will try again this night when I'm home with different scenarios, hopefully I can get it working!!!
-
Yes I have repeatedly said this is not working and I have followed the instructions. It's not working unless I'm missing something? So the thermostat needs to be cooling for it to work???
-
Yes in the portal I renamed insteon thermostat to 'bedroom' and the insteon wireles thermostat to 'office' and it is not working
-
I already renamed it to 'bedroom' and it's not working I also have another thermostat and renamed it to 'office' and it doesn't work
-
This is what the wiki says: Set [device] temperature to [##] degrees: "Alexa, set bedroom to 75 degrees" on ISY Portal, what should I do? add the thermostat (device) and give it a name?
-
I changed 'thermostat' to 'house' and 'wireless thermostat' to 'bedroom' "Alexa set house temperature to 74 degrees" Still doesn't work
-
it's not working I set up the name of to 'thermostat' on the ISY Portal, is that ok?
