  1. I think the problem is the from address line, which we can't see from your screenshots. Double click the Customized Content in the admin console. take a look at the from line of the Window that pops up. the format in that box is supposed to be Name:email@example.com with the : being an important separator between two fields. Also Please note: After you click OK to close that dialog box, YOU MUST ALSO press the save button at the bottom of the window that opened it. Personally when i was using email for notifications I always left the FROM line on the individualized content blank to accept the server default. You need to be careful with the Second part (after the colon) of that field. Many spammers use that to alter the displayed from address... likewise in 2022 if the from specified there and the actual account don't match your email can get flagged as spam.
  2. no need to restore PLM after a power outage. also as mentioned... link counts are difficult if you have a large number of devices and a large number of wireless devices. Programs can be disabled. Link count can be done while no ones home to flip a switch.... BUT heartbeats from wireless sensors will also throw off the link count. It should be understood that the link count is thrown off by large margin's... not 1 or 2 or 3. When a signal interrupts, the link count continues from the address of the device that interrupted... meaning huge blocks of links can be skipped over or counted twice.
  3. to echo this it's literally ANY Insteon communications. I have over a dozen battery powered devices that send heartbeats, and a single heartbeat will screw up the link count. Disable programs, cover motion sensors and do many links counts in a row until you get the same number more than once, that's probably your link count. why are you needing to rebuild after a power outage? I literally do nothing after a power outage. And what specifically do you mean by "rebuild"?
  4. There were several versions of that item, as far as the ISY is concerned they all work the same, thus the inclusion under the part number they were known by. I believe one model specifically meant "retail packaging". I'm not sure immediate/delayed applies to ISY. I have alot of open/close sensors, they can be included in a scene to turn the light on when the door is open, or they can be used in programs with either control or status. I have many that control lights via a scene, some that control lights via a program. All door sensors are included in away mode programs to let me know something has been opened while away, etc. retires is simply communication retries. You shouldn't need retries > 1, if you do then you have a different communication problem that you should attack instead of increasing retries.
  5. I don't restart them often either, but there always needs to be a plan. (I did need to login to PG2 from Mexico once earlier this year, but it turned out the node server was working, I just didn't think it was.)
  6. I would hope that there are plans to expose PG3 through the portal. Currently if I need to log into PG I need to connect to my home network via VPN. Those who don't have a VPN server would probably just open ports and expose it. It's not possible to assume that node servers will stay running and not need to be restarted. If someone is on vacation they may need a method to reach their PG instance.
  7. The part number was 2400LAL, i just searched around and didn't find any. As mentioned watch ebay or other sites continually via google for "Insteon 2400LAL"
  8. did you restart the admin console? the node servers profile is only read when opening the admin console.
  9. only sales@universal-devices.com could tell you whether the 500 series 994 board will ever be in stock again. (I don't know how many they have to order at a time, but if they have to buy a larger rather than smaller qty I doubt they will). other than that, yes 994 development has ceased. there will be no new anything hardware or software. They will as they have done with version 4 issue maintenance releases to the firmware as demands require (things like DST changes, expired certificates, default mail server changes, etc)... but the 994 is at End of Life and won't get anything new...
  10. That's the latest and only version for the 500 series z-wave board. 300 series reports 4.55.00.
  11. Downgrade is no different that upgrade, you simply download the correct file and upload it to the ISY via the admin console using "Help > Manually Upgrade ISY" First lets confirm you have a 300 series z-wave board. Look at the back of your ISY, shine the flashlight from your phone (or other bright light) at the area adjacent to port A. Do you see a round blue LED? If yes, that is a 300 series board and you will need to downgrade to 5.0.16C. If not, then you have a different problem. so given that the downgrade of firmware isn't a difficult process what we must concentrate on is why you can't open the admin console. I'm confused by your last paragraph. If you can get the 5.0.16 admin console open you should be able to get the firmware updowngraded. Exactly what is showing for versions at Help > About? 5.0.16 does have 3 or 4 versions historically (no letter, A, B, and C-- I believe on C is available for download now tho).
  12. I agree, however the problem at the moment is there is a shortage of node servers. and it's unclear who's picking up which and whether there will be an additional charge. There's one node server in the store, that does a very very basic function, that should have been built into the ISY from day one. Under PG3 that node server is $20 (that personally, I won't be paying, I'll do without before paying that price for something so simple).
  13. MrBill replied to dpierre's topic in Polisy
ssh to policy and type: uname -a if you see 11 or 12 in the results then follow these instructions: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Polisy:User_Guide#Polisy_OS_Versions_Below_13 -- the ISY software was not originally included in Polisy, only very recent shipped units will have it. Let us know what uname -a says if you have any problems. Edit to add: Yes the first reboot in the instructions is required, otherwise the second file won't exist.
  14. Are you using a 994? or Polisy Pro? In most cases the ISY isn't on wifi but plugged into an Ethernet jack. Polisy Pro does have Wifi capability, but again most people don't use it that way.
  15. sounds like your second wifi is an old router that is still in router mode. This creates two seperate networks in your house. You need to put the second router into AP (Access Point) mode, so that it's not a router anymore.
  16. the entry should be http://IP.ADDR.OF.ISY/desc You can get the IP address from that other computer that it is running from.
  17. You've showed the screenshot proving you're not waiting where most people are, and that's to accept the connection on the portals tab. I assume you've tried the refresh button? Have you also tried rebooting the ISY?
  18. First try right clicking the device in the device tree and selecting "restore device". If that doesn't work, navigate to the scene, click the red controller link of the device that's causing fast dimming and post a screen shot.
  19. If you have an active 30 day trial subscription, or have paid already, what you need to do next is email your UUID to support@universal-devices.com (they do answer tickets on weekends, just slower than weekdays.) It's not supposed to be, but they might need to do something on the backend.
  20. If you've added your ISY in the portal, you then need to go to the admin console, Configuratrion > Portals tab and "approve" the connection. Have you done that? My admin console has a white background, but here's what you're looking for:
  21. Doesn't sound like it's setup correctly. (Unless you are referring to lamps and the switch on the lamp itself).
  22. Did you download a new copy, that's what you should do: https://isy.universal-devices.com/start.jnlp Of course official Java 8 must be installed first: https://www.java.com Finder not found is misleading? start.jnlp installs the ISY Launcher, the first thing that Launcher launches is ISY Finder, If the ISY Finder window is opening but but saying not found, it's suggesting that perhaps the ISY is not on the same network as that computer. This is often caused by people plugging in old routers in other parts of the house without changing the old router to an access point first. Doing as such results in 2 networks in the home, one behind the other. There are also other networking mistakes that can cause problems, but that's the most common and easiest to describe.
  23. Sell it on ebay. Even selling it all as a single lot, if there is a PLM included you will likely make back every penny you've spent. Here's a recent relevant thread you should read: Edit to add: Alternatively just ship it to me any I'll put it to good use ?
  24. random musings? or do you need more knowledge? the only answer for the foreseeable future is to buy PLM's on ebay for inflated prices because they are in-demand.
  25. MrBill replied to CopyRon's topic in IoX Support
I'm not sure what you are waiting for. You don't/can't have Ring functionality now. The only Ring nodesever is Polyglot Cloud, which has been offline since February 14th. It doesn't matter, if you migrate or not. ISY994 or IoP doesn't matter... either way there is not a Ring node server.
