Polisy doesn't boot if connected to powered Insteon PLM
Step 2 and 3 need to be reversed. The PLM must be booted before Polisy tries to speak to it.

Insteon acquired and servers coming back up
https://www.insteon.com/feedback-forms/ probably the same. FWIW, maybe it was pure coincidence, but I also sent them a feedback a week or 10 days before the sent the email to the smarthome list suggesting they do exactly that. I said, "I'm not a hub customer but I have a large Insteon system that I've had for many years utilizing a PLM and I'm not receiving your updates, you should perhaps include the smarthome purchasers list." magicially a week or 10 days later they sent an email to the smarthome list. I agree tho, they could at least have an auto-responder that says thanks for the feedback. We read all, respond to as many as possible, but can't answer everything.

Loss of IR support on Polisy
You need to load the "No PLM" firmware onto the ISY. Then it's possible to create Network Resources to update variables, run programs, etc on the other device. Since the 994 has the IR receiver you would likely create programs there, that instead of running then blocks on the 994, instead use the API to Run Then of a program on the Polisy. https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY_Developers:API:REST_Interface#Programs It would be quite clever if someone created a node server that facilitated this, but it can be done simply with Network Resources alone.

Away Program Fails to Reliably Lock Z-Wave Yale Assure Locks
@isyrocks! i just noticed that you have 4 programs run from that program in a row. that's likely the problem, but i can't really tell what the other programs are doing. But if you start 4 programs in rapid succession then you're likely going to overflow something. The ISY doesn't wait for the program to finish before it runs the next, it just starts them all up. Check your error log, I'll be there are errors.

Insteon acquired and servers coming back up
I agree. I sent them a feedback last week on that subject exactly. I even suggested they divide the old product list into four groups 1) Priority 2) second wave 3) maybe's 4) "for sure not returning" and publish those lists. I even suggested that if it generates an avalanche of additional feedback that that was not really a bad thing because people are talking about it and they may learn something. I'm quite sure there is a misstep or two along the way. They appear to be trying tho. It's only been 40 days since the deal closed. There is no doubt the most important thing to do was return the hub servers to online state. Second priority was dealing with Chinese companies to restart manufacturing. Have you ever dealt with a Chinese Company? I have, they are masters of telling you what they perceive that you want to hear and then trying to adjust reality to meet the commitment they made when they told you what you wanted to hear. The newsletter signup option appears in the footer on every page on the insteon.com site. I did point out the email signup link on the bottom of the front page, but at that point I hadn't yet noticed it's actually an element of the page footer and thus appears on every page, thanks for pointing that out!

Insteon acquired and servers coming back up
All the blog posts are there. https://www.insteon.com/blog but for some odd reason "Insteon Blog" only appears in the footer of the front page, not the header. They also sent the email below to the Smarthome mailing list last week (dated 7/12). b I had to paste the email as a picture because the forum wasn't liking a cut and paste. The subscribe button is apparently linked to me and I couldn't figure out a generic version of the link in the email. The bottom of the main page does have an email signup blank.

Away Program Fails to Reliably Lock Z-Wave Yale Assure Locks
Looks like the problem would be with the 'Lock All Doors' (then path) program.... no idea what it does, but I'd make sure it waits in between locks, it may even need a wait at it's start if the queue is already backed up. Also check the error log for clues.

Polisy doesn't recognize my password anymore
Other good questions to add, is does it also reset IoP's credentials? and does PolyGlot mean PG2, PG3 or both? AFAIK all those are separately stored credentials as in IoP, PG2, PG3 and ssh login.

Upgrading Polisy firmware to 5.4.4 using the "Upgrade Firmware" function in the portal?
I haven't moved over to IoP yet, the 994 is still running the show. I have moved more to Home Assistant than previously. Some newer purchases are only supported there and don't have node servers, in other cases it's just because I want to not pay for node servers that are maintained by one person each and if that person looses interest or doesn't have time anymore the node server seems to just die. Under PG2 at least you had access to the code and could improve things on your own (I do have one PG2 node server that I improved on my own.) Under PG3 there's no access to the source code. So one day it might just quit working and someone would need to start from scratch. I'll continue to rely on my ISY (either 994 or IoP for insteon, but my current goal is to rely less on ISY as controller and more on Home Assistant as the main controller.

Upgrading Polisy firmware to 5.4.4 using the "Upgrade Firmware" function in the portal?
lol...likely but i still don't get it.

Upgrading Polisy firmware to 5.4.4 using the "Upgrade Firmware" function in the portal?
the advice comes from the same man that has the final say on everything.... so I wonder out loud why this option exists if we aren't supposed to use it... it also exists for Polisy's. While it's never been announced as a Polisy upgrade option, if it's there someone will use it. It's usually pretty simply to remove an option from a menu, the underlying code and functionally doesn't need to be removed, just prevent the menu item from appearing.

Upgrading Polisy firmware to 5.4.4 using the "Upgrade Firmware" function in the portal?
I've also seen that advice before. It's always made me wonder, if the button in the portal isn't supposed to be used, then why is there?

Admin console - remotely
@oskrypuch in addition to @Bumbershoot's instructions... when prompted for your isy credentials: you must enter your PORTAL credentials here, not what you enter when on the local network.

Polisy setup with WiFi connection?
Send support a ticket support@universal-devices.com they'll have you up and running in a jiffy, keep in mind they are california timezone but they respond very quickly.

isy-994i can not connect to network
I agree, I missed that there where two networks..... 192.168.4 and 192.168.1 don't pass traffic to each other without some advanced networking, they are on the surface considered separate networks. One or the other needs to be in bridge mode.

Cannot connect - Unable to launch the application
@GFuller01 An Insteon 2413S PLM plugs into Port A, using an "Ethernet cable" (but it's not really Ethernet protocol being used from PLM to Port A). The PLM must be fully powered up first. Next make sure the ISY is connected Network jack to your Router. Ethernet connection is required here. After the PLM is powered up for about 30 seconds and has a solid green light, then plug in the ISY. After it's had time to boot up, what light are on on the front of the ISY? an ISY994 does not have USB.

isy-994i can not connect to network
32 GB card also works, and is easier to buy.... look specifically for the newer A1 rating, also note it's a MICRO SD card. (A2 is also ok but will fallback to A1 as A2 requires hardware support that the ISY doesn't have.) the proceedure can be found here: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY-99i/ISY-26_INSTEON:Replacing/Formatting_an_SD_Card

Network Resources?
Do you have portal? if so use: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY_Portal_IFTTT_Integration There is a network resource example here: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY-994i_Series_INSTEON:Networking:Network_Resources:Twitter

UPGRADE PACKAGES button explanation
The recent problem that occurred was the OS upgrades installed updates before UDI Processes has been modified to use the new functions, thus breaking installations because they were too up to date. If a user doesn't yet have IoP installed they should seek the assistance of UD support to get it installed without updating other things that may not yet be useful.

Please don't use the "classic" method. See this notice:

ISY untouched for 5 years, working great but…
@Bernman If you end up resetting the credentials on the 994, follow these instructions exactly. Please note, the Factory Reset instructions are very similar, further if you are not careful when following the Password reset instructions you will instead factory reset the entire device.
