Make sure you set up the programs in the portal and then click "send spokens to Google Home" I have 12 programs configured and I don't know of any limit.

It's been a while since I tried it in my account, so I just did and it still doesn't work. I didn't get any feedback in the other forum. Amazon support said they captured logs and turned over to development, I followed up a couple of times with no result and then lost interest because I found the workaround by using a different account. The only thing I can think of is the problem started around the time that I got a Ring doorbell. Before I figured out that I could simply use the Ring Alexa skill to announce motion and ring, I was using an Alexa speak routine. During testing I'm sure I caused a lot of activity in a short amount of time. Perhaps that caused the problem, just a guess. If an account gets disabled because of excessive activity it seems that would have been easy for Amazon support to see and reset, but maybe I'm giving Amazon support too much credit:-) @jca001 thanks for the interest. Mike

FYI, my experience posted in Alexa routine FAQ. I had to use a different account.

Now that Polisy shipping date is approaching I am wondering about the pros/cons of moving cloud based nodeservers local. I currently have ecobee and Ring running on PGC and it's working fine. Any reason to move those to Polisy or should I just leave those as is and use Polisy for local? Also, can mods please created a dedicated Polisy thread? Thanks, Mike

I do this and it works fine, I have a two minute wait to make sure my home network has come back up from the power fail and then send a pushover message.

Sure, nothing fancy this time of year, my normal evening lighting schedule runs then for on and else for off. Front lights on yellow - [ID 006E][Parent 0066][Not Enabled] If - No Conditions - (To add one, press 'Schedule' or 'Condition') Then Set 'Front Porch Color' Warm White 0, Cold White 0, Red 255, Green 255, Blue 0, Set 'Front Coach Right Color' Warm White 0, Cold White 0, Red 255, Green 255, Blue 15, Set 'Front Coach Left Color' Warm White 0, Cold White 0, Red 255, Green 255, Blue 15, Set 'Front Porch Dimmer' Fast On Set 'Front Coach Right Dimmer' Fast On Set 'Front Coach Left Dimmer' Fast On Else Set 'Front Coach Left Dimmer' Fast Off Set 'Front Coach Right Dimmer' Fast Off Set 'Front Porch Dimmer' Fast Off If motion is detected I set the porch to bright white for a few minutes, then revert back to previous color. Setting bright or warm white overrides color, then setting it back to 0 reverts to whatever color it was previously. Driveway motion dark on - [ID 0048][Parent 0066] If $Dark is 1 And 'Front Porch Dimmer' Status is not 0% And ( 'Driveway Motion' Status is On Or 'Ring NodeServer / Front Door motion' is switched Motion ) Then Set 'Front Porch Color' Cold White 255, Run Program 'Enable Driveway motion' (Then Path) Disable Program 'Driveway motion dark on' Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') During Christmas I used this. Since lights are being turned on from normal evening light programs, all this does is change colors. Front lights Christmas - [ID 006A][Parent 0066][Not Enabled] If From 1:00:00PM on 2018/11/24 To 1:00:00PM on 2018/12/30 And 'Front Coach Left Dimmer' Status is 100% Then Repeat 200 times Set 'Front Coach Left Color' Warm White 0, Cold White 0, Red 255, Green 0, Blue 0, Set 'Front Coach Right Color' Warm White 0, Cold White 0, Red 255, Green 0, Blue 0, Set 'Front Porch Color' Warm White 0, Red 0, Green 255, Blue 0, Wait 1 minute Set 'Front Coach Left Color' Warm White 0, Cold White 0, Red 0, Green 255, Blue 0, Set 'Front Coach Right Color' Warm White 0, Cold White 0, Red 0, Green 255, Blue 0, Set 'Front Porch Color' Warm White 0, Red 255, Green 0, Blue 0, Wait 1 minute Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

I have 3 of these on the front of my house, 2 coach lights and one porch light. I have not done much with them through the admin console, but I can tell you they work fine in programs. I have them on zero blue this time of year to attract less bugs. Use warm white in less buggy seasons and also set to holiday colors, orange for Halloween, cycle red and green around Christmas and I don't have to hang/remove Christmas lights! FYI, if you set warm or cold white to > 0 it overrides any color selection and it takes about 15 secs to set a color, so you can't really flash colors, but you can cycle through color changes.

I set up several Alexa speak routines and all were working fine for months until recently when I noticed I wasn't getting announcements. Started trouble shooting - When I change my Alexa speak variable in ISY the corresponding motion detector shows motion so ISY to Alexa communication is working and I can use Alexa spokens to change ISY devices. When I manually execute routines in the Alexa app the Echo announcements work. So I scratched my head for a while and on a whim I disabled a routine and reenabled it and it started working. I had to do this to all my Alexa speak routines although they were showing enabled. Any one else encounter this? Update: Worked for a while and now stopped again and nothing I try works, tried disabling/enabling ISY skill which seemed like a stretch because Alexa motion detectors are seeing motion when I change ISY variable. Seems routines are not running when motion status changes because I have a test routine when I say this, Alexa says that and it works fine. Ideas? Update2: Thought I would take Alexa speak out of the picture, so created a routine to turn on a light based on virtual motion detector and again virtual motion detector shows motion, but light doesn't turn on. Manually running the routine turns light on. I realize this is not an ISY problem since the portal is doing its job and turning on motion. Any ideas from the community? Since this thread hasn't seen activity in a while, tagging @bmercier Update3: In case anyone cares or encounters the same problem. Tried Amazon support since that is where the problem occurs, said they turned it over to development, but no solution yet. I decided to try my wife's Alexa account since she also has access to the ISY portal skill and it worked fine in her account. So for now I recreated my 20 or so Alexa speak routines in her account and Alexa is chatty again. Mike

You can view previous discussion I ended up giving up on geofencing and use Automagic for WiFi presence detection and it's working fine, but will look at presence poly when I get my Polisy.

For those like me who want to make a comparison https://polyglot.universal-devices.com/ currently has 56 nodeservers and PGC https://polyglot.isy.io/store has 18. At least one, Ring is only on PGC, but it is still under development and apparently not ready for full release. I see some interesting differences, been interested in CAO tags for a while to name one and implementation would be much easier with a nodeserver. I'm convincing myself I do need one for the additional support. @Michel Kohanim one question I can't seem to find an answer. Will @io_guy 's nodes also work on the Polisy? Thanks, Mike

I'm sure UDI folks are crazy busy, UDI website was really slow today after the Polisy announcement. Answer when you have a chance. If all my current requirements are cloud based (only ecobee now and soon to be Ring) and PGC is working fine for me, Do I need a Polisy? Of course I want one, but do I really need one before I have a need to support a local API? Thanks, Mike

But not in Android play store that I could find.

Only for iPhone correct? We're a four phone Android family.
-
Thanks @Michel Kohanim, good to hear. I know there is always a lot on your plate. FYI, for my use case I'm particularly interested in being able to activate my "arriving home" program, so needs to be a true geofence. Network connection status would be too late to be useful. Thanks, Mike
-
@Michel Kohanim any update. I'm particularly looking for something lightweight and easy to manage on multiple phones. UDI Mobile looked perfect, if it only worked:-)

Also see thread below, @Michel Kohanim said they are looking at alternatives.

My arriving home program checks to see if it's after sunset and then sets all lighting to my normal occupied status. I haven't seen a problem, but I see your point. Do you know if a wait will still cause the program (not the folder) to reevaluate the if away = 1 and stop running? If it does then I may be dodging the bullet since my vacation lighting is full of waits.
-
Second the suggestion to have Alexa run a program, I call mine "leaving home" I have a 5 minute delay with Alexa announcing a countdown every minute. Then I set the away variable to 1 and check to make sure all the doors and garage door are closed. It's a nice piece of mind, I can't be more than 5 minutes away if someone (kids) left something open.
-
As suggested, I have a vacation folder that only runs when the vacation variable is 1. One thing to be careful of, you still need the if vacation = 1 in each program in addition to any other logic. My normal sunset lighting program checks to make sure vacation and away are 0. Using sunset and random waits as in the example is very effective at making the house look occupied. I also send myself messages if any motion or doors are opened while away, turn on lights and have Alexa scream "intruder alert". My arriving home program sets away and vacation back to 0. I'm still using x-10 too, figured I'd make use of all the gear I had. I used all my x-10 on one side (phase) of the house and did the rest with z-wave. Welcome and enjoy the journey.
-
Good idea, now at least the spokens make sense. Thanks
-
I was probably overthinking it, the Z-wave traffic is occuring anyway and updating 3 variables is a trivial load on the ISY. I was just thinking that updating hundreds of times a day just so I could occasionally ask for the temp and humidity was not very efficient in general terms, but I probably should just not worry about it. The only time I maxed out my 994izw was preparing for the holidays. I made a deal with my wife that instead of hanging and removing Christmas lights I would put Z-wave RGB bulbs in the front porch and coach lights. I envisioned dancing red and green lights, but found that setting RGB color via Z-wave takes about 5 seconds per bulb, so I had to go to 1 minute changes to keep the ISY from being busy all the time. I'm sure most HA enthusiasts have experienced the spousal eye roll many times, but her reaction when I asked Google assistant "what is the brightness of the driveway temperature" and get the response "the driveway temperature is set to 60% brightness" and telling her that means it's 60 outside was unforgettable. Then I pushed too far and tried to tell her our HA is so powerful I can change the outdoor temperature "set the driveway temperature to 70" and of course it appears to comply, at least until the next update:-) Wife walks away shaking her head...
