Question 1: "ISY994i ZS/IR PRO" should it work to get realtime KW from my smart meter? (details from power company below) ON the company's website FAQ ( http://tinyurl.com/clohjvr ) it says: "To successfully connect with the SCE smart meter, your device must support ZigBee communications and be Smart Energy Profile 1.0 or 1.1 certified." Question 2: I currently am an owner of an ISY 99iProIR, and on this site (i think yours) it says there's an upgrade price of 229 for the "ISY994i ZS/IR PRO". Yes, for sure. In addition, ISY994i ZS has been fully tested and vetted by SCE and thus you will be eligible for the rebates. You might want to contact them and see if you qualify for the $50.00 rebate if and only if you have an INSTEON communicating thermostat in addition to ISY. Furthermore, once you get the unit, please do ensure you choose SCE as the provider so that you can get realtime pricing information as well. And, finally, please review Save Power Day program for additional rebates. bruinlax Posted April 5, 2013 Author Posted April 5, 2013 awesome thanks for the prompt reply. I was pulling my hair out looking at random zigbee gateways when i discovered through luck you guys over one, which is all i'd ever want. Hopefully it gets more publicized.

GeneInSoCal Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 I have just purchased a new ISY994i-ZS and wonder if I can use it in SDG&E territory as yet. It is not listed in their list of approved HAN Devices. I just installed a Rainforest RAVEn two weeks ago without any problems from SDG&E and I hope that the ISY994i-ZS will be the same.
Michel Kohanim Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Hi GeneInSoCal, Actually we were the first gateway they ever tested and there was a mass confusion as to how it should be tested (for instance, they considered it a UPnP Router). For instance, they opened the unit and decided that hardware programming pins are security risks! In any case, they did not approve ISY to be listed on their website. This said, you should have no problem connecting to the meter. Please do make sure you have 4.0.3 installed, figure out the length of Install Code (default is 32), and then follow the instructions here: http://www.universal-devices.com/docs/p ... 994iZS.pdf .
