Communication to Mini Remote fails

I have linked a 2444A2 RemoteLinc 2 and set it up on my system. However, regularly when some device needs to be updated I will get a failure "Cannot communicate with ..." on the RemoteLink. This is always on the first button name. The event log shows:

 

Preparing device

Device Ready

ERR 1

 

All seems working correctly otherwise and the device looses its exclamation mark when I press a button, so this is more an annoyance than anything else. But I would like to know if something is wrong or the re is a step I should be doing to prevent this.

It sounds like the ISY thinks it needs to write something to the RemoteLinc2. Suggest putting RL2 into linking mode with its Set button. Right click RemoteLinc2 Primary node and select Write Updates to Device. That should clear any pending update.

Thanks, that succeeded in completing the update. The linking mode was the bit I was missing.
