Happy Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 I am getting desperate for a way to communicate RS485 to ISY. Autelis makes a product but it has not been in stock in weeks. I can't find any other solution (not one that I can figure out). I have recently completed a remodel that has electronic doors that require RS485 commands to open and close. The plan was to use Insteon keypads and autelis device to talk to the doors. I am now having to leave the doors open all the time (not making the wife happy, since it's doors to the bathroom, etc). Not being a total idiot I did run "just in case" wires inside the walls, but hate to bust out sheetrock and install additional electronic boxes for an ugly and (hopefully) temporary fix. Also, have the same issue with pool control. Already have all the keypads (labelled and everything) to control the pool, but Autelis has had no stock on the Pentair pool control boxes for weeks and weeks. Anyone have any thoughts for alternative solutions? Thanks, Matt Hapgood 919-933-3295
Michel Kohanim Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Hello Mr. Hapgood, What you need is a Global Caché device (such as http://www.smarthome.com/81185/Global-C ... ial/p.aspx) and Network Module (http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index ... Networking). In short, this configuration will allow you to send RS485 commands through the network some examples of which are here: http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index ... _Resources With kind regards, Michel
MWareman Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Ahh. You need a 232 to 485 adapter as well... Missed that. viewtopic.php?f=51&t=6304 Sorry!
