SING Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I purchased 4 Insteon Thermostats in anticipation of installing in a new home, only to realize that the AC units have heat pumps. Is there a way to wire the Insteon thermostat to work with a 2 stage heat/one cool with heat pump unit to work with the Insteon and ISY? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Weylin
Michel Kohanim Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Hi Weylin, I do not know the answer but I have forwarded the post to our contact at SmartHome. Hopefully he'll be able to provide more feedback. With kind regards, Michel
SteveL Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 The heat pump unit require a reversing valve labeled O/B. The INSTEON thermostat does not have that contact. Steve L INSTEON
arw01 Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 There were some good things mentioned about Ventar series with insteon integration. Io_Guy is working on an ecobee middleware program to run on a raspberry pi or a windows machine 24x7, and UDI has the Ecobee on their priority list for support straight from the ISY994 series. You might check those options and just return the smarthome variety. Alan
