New User Experience with 99i Pro

Just got my new 99i Pro yesterday and took today off from work to get the house on the new system. I have tried several software solutions before (HomeLinc & Indigo) and while they did what I "kinda" wanted there was always the wall that you hit when you wanted to do something above the norm. I have a rather complicated house setup (all Insteon) with about 120 devices. The builder built the house for himself and just put lots of three way, four way switches in the house (to bad he didn't know about Insteon). I really had planned to blog my trials and tribulations of linking this house back together and figured this would cover several weeks (and lots of problems).

 

Frankly this system freaks me out. The 99i Pro setup with my wireless network took about 10 minutes, relinking all the complicated two/three/four way switches took about an hour. Setting all the special conditions and triggers took me most of the day, since I kept changing my mind since now I have so many options available.

 

I did run into one problem, when I tried to register with this forum. For some strange reason my registration keep failing. I put in feedback to asking for help. They actually called me within 3 minutes of putting in web feedback and fixed the problem immediately.

 

For a first experience with a new system, this has been fantastic. I sure there may be problems in the future, but feel this company actually cares and will fix problems.
