I am new to Insteon and am experiencing a frustrating setup problem.

 

I am able to to access the Admin console and PLM status is showing 'connected.'

 

However, when I select 'Start Linking' one of three things happens:

 

1. The normal linking process executes successfully (I got this to happen twice my first day, but it has not worked since)

 

2. I get an error "Discoverying Node; Retry!"

 

3. Nothing happens

 

I have disabled Avast on the pc I am using. Also, FWIW MobiLinc is now throwing an 803 error, making me think I'm stuck in linking limbo.

 

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I am so very sorry to hear. Please note that you cannot really "disable" AVAST since the filtering rules remain.

 

I have two suggestions:

0. Reboot ISY

1. Either use httpS (most firewall software are more lenient with https) OR

2. Put ISY's IP address in the exclusion/white/trusted list in Avast
