Not crawling or discovering links

:?: Question:

I think if I understood this right is if I 'start linking' with an Insteon device that has links to the rest of the network, that the ISY should crawl those links and build a device table - is that right? Will it crawl device to device if it finds a link?

I used Powerhome in the past to setup and manage my linking.

I'm not getting that behaviour competely. I had a 3way setup and pointed to one switch and it found the scene and other partner switch. But I know all my switches are linked back to my PLC (and controlinc) but it doesn't seem to find anything. The discovery dialog runs for about 5 minutes.

Is there anything I can check? Change? Turn up logging somehow? What for?

I've also tried to add a device manually, the controlinc, but it won't add it.

I'm using FW 2.6.4, Java 1.6 update 5 (build 1.6.0_05-b13), and disabled web protection on my PC-cillan software. All other functions seem to be working for me.

Here's a snap of the log (level 2) when I try to add a device:

Here I added another device and it sees the links but doesn't look like it crawls them or adds them.

Hello SpaceCowboy,

Apologies for the problems you are experiencing.

C7 1] Node added to ISY

2008/05/25 09:45:18 :

ve 2.6.4, you can use Tools->Event Viewer to see the same messages and thus no longer do you need DBG 2.

From what I see here, the problem is that ISY cannot crawl the devices linked to 6.F9.C7. Usually, in these cases, the problem could be caused by the following:

1. Signal does not get from ISY to the linked devices and therefore ISY cannot read their databases (it tries 3 times configurable in the shell)

2. It is an unknown device

Would you be kind enough to try adding one of the linked devices instead? If the problem is signal related, you might want to put the PLM next or close to another INSTEON device. Or, maybe the PLM is not on the same phase as the linked devices.

With kind regards,

Michel

Here I added another device and it sees the links but doesn't look like it crawls them or adds them.
