Zellarman Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 I've been using insteon devices for over a year now, and glad to say with the exception of a sticky switchlinc, I haven't had to replace any devices, honestly I haven't gotten around to switching it yet, but I have to. Anyway, I have replaced SwL's w/ KPL's and vice versa, but unfortunately presently we're ony able to replace devices w/ the same type device, I'd like to be able to replace w/ different type devices as well.
Michel Kohanim Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 Zellarman, Yes, you are right. We actually tried this method a while back and due to many differences between the type and versions within each type, we decided against it: an old configuration value for a new device version may break the device (writing into the wrong memory location). With kind regards, Michel I've been using insteon devices for over a year now, and glad to say with the exception of a sticky switchlinc, I haven't had to replace any devices, honestly I haven't gotten around to switching it yet, but I have to.
