IR options? toggle on/off and dim

Saturday was a busy day, I installed about 14 Insteon devices, Learned how to program the ISY, and even got started on IR.

I had to dust off my old Pronto that hadn't been used in about 5 years. Even then I only used it once to get the 30 second skip code for my cable box.

With some effort I got the old Pronto to load the ISY CCF. I have a few questions...

1. Is the code set I downloaded from the ISY site unique to the ISY? Or is it possible that some of those codes are used in my other A/V equipment?

2. I have some buttons assigned to run scenes, that works very well. I would also like to be able to control individual lights with a single button- kind of like how button A is on a Keypadlinc.

Is there a way to do that?

thanks,

~Jay

Hi Jay,

Yes, it is possible for those buttons to control your other A/V equipment but not likely.

Yes, you can control a single light as well. In the Action section, instead of a scene, simply choose a single device.

With kind regards,

Michel

Hi Jay,

Just to add to what Michel said, I wanted to let you know that we have a wiki article dealing with exactly what you want, titled IR Example - KeypadLinc-style Button Control. I do hope that helps.
